He slowly raised his hand, his fingers brushing against her lips to silence her. "Shh," he whispered gently. "It's okay. I'm here for you. All that matters is that you're fine," he said with a slight smile, his hand cradling her face as he spoke, his thumb stroking away her tears. He leaned in, his lips brushing against her cheek in a soft, comforting kiss, then pulled her back into a tight hug.
