CHAPTER 91

The booming laughter reflected satisfaction. Angela's loud laughter was full of insults for Ace who was sitting in his chair.

"What did you say, kill me? Hahaha, oops! Sorry, I underestimated you, didn't I?" Angela pretended to cover her mouth, then she lowered her hand. Tapping her long, polish-colored fingernails on the table, Angela said, "But 'kill' me sounds a bit much, Ace."

"What do you want from me?" Ace looked at the pictures of Alicia again, especially the one Angela pointed to with the pointed tips of her nails. She had used silver nail polish, making them sparkle in the light above their heads. "I couldn't even do anything while I was in prison."

"Persuade your father to give me all his shares. I need all of it to build a business in England."

Ace snorted. He grinned sarcastically. His gaze turned sharp, like a criminal ready to prey on his next victim. "This is all for money?"

"I need your father's shares in England," Angela continued, becoming more serious as she discussed this. "Professor Kyoto is going to build a big experiment, I need a lot of money to invest."

There was a brief pause, before the man who had been in a prison cell for the past year spoke again. "I thought that after getting sick, you would change and rethink your past mistakes. Turns out I was wrong. Maybe you shouldn't have gotten the donor that day. A life lost for a selfish woman like you."

Angela held her chest, then patted it a few times. "Your words are exactly like Wilson's, deep and hurtful."

Ace made a face in disgust. He snorted in disgust, not wanting to see that asshole woman in front of him again. But fate could not be avoided. Blood was always thicker than water.

"But I'm fine. There are still plenty of men who are worse than your father, and I'm... okay with that." Angela pushed one of the photos after selecting it, then brought it closer to Ace. Ace didn't flinch, just looked for a split second. "This girl is so lucky to have a man like you. You love her this deeply. You're even willing to forget what your father did in the past, just to save her. Ironic, dramatic, uhm, it's a romantic story that touches my heart the most. But unfortunately... she's already starting to falter."

Ace didn't react at first. He still sat and turned his face the other way. He would look anywhere, just not at Angela. That woman was disgusting and Ace hated seeing her in such close proximity.

Until then, Angela continued speaking. "There's another guy trying to get close."

Ace turned his head, he was provoked. Who was the other man Angela was referring to?

But Angela didn't get to the point. She pulled back the picture of Alicia, gathered the other pictures and put all the pictures of Alicia that she had gotten from a hired photographer a few days ago into her Gucci bag. Angela closed the bag slowly, as if to emphasize that she did want something from her own son, Ace Blake.

"If you die because of the judge's punishment, that man will have an easier time getting Alicia." Angela grinned slyly. "He is indeed a smart man."

"Stop talking about Alicia, okay?"

But Angela refused her son's order. The woman who had plastic surgery to tighten the muscles in her face to look younger shrugged her shoulders indifferently. She deliberately made a defiant gesture because she knew that Ace would not be easily provoked. "I don't know how to say this, but I'll give you six months to get what I need. Listen carefully, get Wilson to trust you, transfer his company shares in the UK to your name and I'll make the acquisition. All done, the matter will be closed. You can get Alicia back, because I'll help you get more."

Ace spit beside his foot, before giving Angela a serious look. "You're such a slut!"

"You lost your attitude because of your father's education, didn't you?"

The five minutes Mike had given him seemed to go by very slowly. At first, Ace thought that Mike might have misplaced the clock on the wall or that he was so busy doing something outside that he forgot about their limit. But after Ace observed the round clock hanging on the wall, right behind Angela, their talking time was indeed more than five minutes. It had all been arranged. Angela must have paid for it all. The time, the place and Mike. All must have been arrangements made by Ace.

So Ace finally returned Angela's gaze. "At least she still has a lot of possessions while asleep on a hospital bed. As for you? Instead of being grateful for surviving death, you're being arrogant and ignorant."

Angela rolled her eyes lazily. Her brown eyeballs looked bored, so Angela quickly picked up her sunglasses and put them back on.

"I'm so sorry for leaving you a few years ago, but just so you know, I'm still your mother no matter what," Angela said, standing up. She let out a long sigh, then picked up her Gucci bag. Raising her face arrogantly, Angela said, "You must know my people who are here. Find them if you're ready to help me get your father's shares."

Ace was silent, he didn't return his mother's gaze at all. Even when Angela walked over, and tapped her son on the shoulder twice, Ace still didn't give any reaction. His gaze was blank as he looked forward. His mind was going nowhere.

"Goodbye, My Son. You know that you will always be my son, right?"

The woman in her five-centimeter heels walked out of the visiting room as Mike walked in. Mike cleared his throat, then walked over to Ace.

"Your time is up," Mike said, to which Ace immediately replied.

"Tsk, it should have been over five minutes ago, you idiot."

Mike shut his mouth and let Ace out from the room.
