Chapter 58

Lorenzo's POV

I pick up the call from Luke and place the phone against my ears. It has to be a life and death issue if Luke is calling.

"Hey. What's the problem?" I ask immediately as I hear his breathing on the other side of the line.

"What makes you think there's a problem?"

"You're calling," I say in a flat voice.

"Fine," he sighs. "It's your dad."

Dread coils into a tight knot in my stomach. "My dad?"

"I think he's suspicious. He has been calling and asking questions."

"How did he get your number?" And why he is calling my friends instead of me?

"Heck if I knew!" he exclaims exasperatedly. "Woke up to a text message from him one morning and ever since then it has become a daily occurrence."

Why he's suspicious? I have been very careful in every step I took. Did he already know that something was going on between Celestine and me? Or is he just trying to confirm a hunch?

"Don't worry. He hasn't hinted at anything about Celestine. Just kept on asking if we were up to any trouble."
