Chapter 45

Celestine's POV

"You texted me back. You told me I should forget about you. That you just wanted to sleep with me and that there was nothing more you wanted from me. You told me you had just been playing me."

Lorenzo lets go of my hands held up against the wall. He staggers back to the opposite wall. "So it was- it was my fault."

I drop my hand to my side, my wrists feel raw but I ignore them, walking closer to Lorenzo. Why is he saying it's his fault? "You said your dad confiscated your phone right? It wasn't your fault."

"Yeah, sure." He laughs bitterly. "But it has been a year since I left the school he shipped me off to. I could have come back here. I could have come back for you."

"You saw me kissing someone else." I don't know why I'm shifting the blame to myself. It wasn't my fault but it wasn't Lorenzo's either. We both aren't to blame for what happened two years ago.
