Chapter 4

Thank you, Mira! Gaby said she could have been run over by a car hadn't Mira pulled her off from the middle of the road.

She heard murmuring from strangers passing by, some threw insults at her while others pitied her as they shook their heads and walked away, some threw words of caution to her while others simply hissed and walked away.

Where are you going? And why are you alone on the street by this time of the night,

Last she heard Gabriella was married to a popular businessman's son, and if she is correct she should be married by now. 

 Why is she looking so miserable, what could have happened to her to make her loom the streets alone?

“I don't know Mira” Gabriella answered, she doesn't have a home or anywhere to go to, 

What do you mean you don't know, Mira asked further, where is your house address let me call you a cab, or I can drop you off my car is parked down the road,

I don't have anywhere to go. Maybe you should have let the car crush me rather than saving me. Tears gushed from her eyes and she couldn't speak anymore but cried her eyes out.

Mira took pity on her and understood maybe she had trouble at home or relationship trouble, she walked her down the road to where her car was packed and helped her get into the car and she got in too and turned on the ignition and drove her home.

Mira lives in a comfortable apartment with her brother who was never at home and travels a lot, she parked the car in front of her apartment and took Gabriella in to calm her down cos she was a mess and hadn't stopped sobbing all the way home,

Mira was her old friend from high school, who liked Gabriella a lot back then. 

Mira took her in and Entertained her, she ate and took her bath, Mira gave her the guest room to occupy as long as she stayed in the house, Gabriella was so grateful to have run into someone like Mira, she is nice and accommodating even after so many years of not seeing or hearing from her.

 After a week in Mira's house, Gabriella could smile again and talked freely with Mira, she even laughed at some of her jokes and was warming up to her, 

Mira came back from work in the evening and met Gabriella in the sitting room watching a movie and was happy to see her out of bed and not sobbing today, 

She wanted to be gentle with her and not let her go back to the mood she had for the past week in her house. She smiled at her and hugged her shoulder from behind, 

Gaby bear, How are you doing today, Mira asked with a big smile on her face, Gabriella was in a more cheerful mood, Am alright Mira, How was work today, work is good, and am glad to be back home,

Mira took a sit beside her and was eager to know what happened to her, she brought her home but didn't know what made her unhappy, and in that condition,

Gaby, Mira held her hands and looked her in the eyes I want to know what happened to you, tell me everything, I promise not to judge you, Gabriella bowed her head fresh tears flowed down her cheeks,

Mira was surprised, she was still sobbing after a few days had passed, she knew the experience must be traumatizing for her, she apologized am sorry Gaby didn't mean to open up your wounds.

It's ok Mira, you have shown me kindness since I came here you deserve to know everything, Gaby said. Gaby narrated everything to Mira, All the conspiracy towards her, and also finding out she was pregnant her family disowning her, and her divorce. 

 Mira was shocked, she shook her head and shed a few tears, Gia betrayed you, that brat, after all the love she showed during our school days who could have thought Gia was a snake, Am sorry all this happened to you, Mira gave her a tight hug, you are welcome to stay here as long as you like this is your home now,

My brother is out of town and won't be back for a very long time so make yourself safe and comfortable here ok Mira welcomed her and assured her she would help her stand her feet again.

Gabriella doesn't know any of her mother's family, her father had hidden them from her all her efforts to find her mother's family fell through, it's like someone was hiding them from her, anytime she is close to finding out the truth something happens and her plans will fail.

Her heart was beating fast, what would've happened to her if Mira hadn't found her on the street, no one would have looked for her. 

Thank you, Mira you are a lifesaver, I promise I won't be in your way, you will hardly know I am here. I promise to pay you back for your kindness towards me. Gabriella said with her head on Mira's chest, 

Mira pulled her up, you don't owe me anything Gaby, it's what friends do,

 now cheer up and come with me, 

Where are we going? Just come with me and you will find out, Mira responded.

Gabriella smiled, with a slight confusion written all over her face, but also excited to find out where they were heading. She stood up and went to the room to freshen up. 

Mira waited for her to come out and they both had put together, Gabriella got into the passenger side of Mira's car, shot the door, and looked at Mira smiling.

Where are we going and why are you smiling like that? 

Mira Inhaled sharply and said, "Since you won't stop asking, I will tell you, I am taking you shopping, you need new clothes and shoes and toiletries, and so on.

As she was still talking Gabriella started crying silently, Mira paused as she heard her sobbing, what is it Gaby did I say something wrong, why are you crying? 

Am sorry if this is not what you want at this moment, No! No! Gabriella said quickly, it's not that, am happy,

Then what is it? Mira asked running her fingers through Gabriella's hair,

Am just grateful to meet you, you have been nothing but nice to me, Thank you, Mira, Mira smiled and said you are welcome.

Now can we go? Mira asked, Yes we can, Gabriella answered and they both smiled,

Mira started the ignition reversed the car, and drove to the mall.
