Chapter 5

Gabriella was at the hair salon, and she needed a new hairstyle for herself, it's been 2 years since she gave birth to her adorable baby boy, and holding her baby in her arms the first day changed her life forever.

He was the most beautiful baby she has ever seen in her life and it's her baby. For the first time in a long time, she felt connected to him already, her baby boy brought so much joy to her life, and she was truly in love with everything about him.

Thanks to Mira she didn't feel alone any longer, as they both took turns in nursing the young one.

Gabriella heard two ladies sitting in the same row as her, talking about how her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend, she couldn't stop sobbing as getting her head done,

Gabriella remembered what she went through with her ex-husband and her stepsister, she hadn't thought about them for a very long time after she had her baby, but hearing the lady's experience triggered a hidden pain in her, she immediately reminded herself that it's in the past and she can't dwell in it any longer. She told herself she had to move on for the sake of her baby.

Immediately Mira walked into the salon holding Gabriella's 2 and half old year baby boy Ray in her arms.

Everyone admired how handsome and adorable Ray was.

He is really a sight to behold, Gabriella often wondered how handsome his father must be, because everyone said Ray didn't get her looks, he obviously must have gotten them from his father.

Gabriella was done with her hair, she quickly paid and they hurried home, 

Am making dinner Gabriella said to Mira who was busy feeding Ray, 

What are we having, Pasta? Mira asked

If that's what you want, Gabriella replied 

Yes, I want that, 

Then, Pasta it is Gabriella said, as she went to the kitchen she placed the pot of water on the stove to boil, and for a moment she was so deep in thought that she didn't know when the water boiled, 

Mira walked into the kitchen to help her out and found her lost in her thoughts,

Mira called her name but she didn't answer, she knew something was wrong, she walked close to her and touched her from behind,

Gabriella jumped in shock, she realized she had been off, 

Am sorry Mira I didn't hear you come in.

What's the matter Gabriella, Mira asked 

It's nothing I'm fine She answered

It's not nothing Gabriella, Tell me what is troubling you, my dear, I can help you if only you talk to me.

You have helped me a lot Mira, I don't know if I would be able to pay you for your kindness. Am alright for now so don't worry about me.

She turned and continued cooking.

If you say so, how are you preparing for the interview tomorrow? Mira asked.

Am ready, my designs passed the first test, I just hope I make it to the top 5.

Hazel company only goes for the best designers and you, my friend, are beyond best. You are so talented am very sure they will pick you, Mira smiled

Thank you, Mira, Gabriella replied 

Gabriella submitted her application 2 months ago and has been following up on the job to make sure she secured a spot as a designer. After she graduated from a fashion school she has been designing beautiful outfits for clients online and was paid for it.

She made money from selling most of her designs even though she didn't like it. She needed money for herself. She has been living in Mira's house for free. She needs to support herself and not be a burden to Mira who has helped her enough without complaining, she sees her as a sister rather than a friend.

Gabriella decided to apply for a position as a designer at Hazel Company, a well-known Fashion company in the country and internationally. Out of the 100 applicants, She was lucky to be among

the ones who received mail to come back for an interview.
