Book 4: Thirteen

Sasha didn’t move an inch, she just stood staring at him. She heard something broke and it took only a second to realize that it was her heart. She knew he was going through a lot and she just wished that he wouldn’t push her away and just confide in her. She sucked in a deep breath, wiping away the tear that slipped down her cheek and took a determined step towards him.

“Don’t test my patience, Sasha,” he warned.

Sasha paused but after a second, she continued, “we can sort it out together, Michael,” she whispered, “you don’t have to push me away. You don’t have to push us away. We can handle it, whatever it is.”

“I just want to be alone,” he said.

“We are not leaving, Michael, stop pushing us away. We can…”

“Get out,” he looked at her now, “just…leave. You are the last person I want to see now.”

If his previous words didn’t hurt her before, this was the last straw. She was trying so hard to hold herself from breaking down, in as much as she wants to, she remembered her kids were stil
