I looked before me and the man who was supposedly suspicious pulled out a gun and I docked lower as I saw him shot. I previously thought my life wasn't in danger since they wanted something from me but this proved me otherwise. The hotel got into chose as a gun shot was heard and in this choas Lucian pulled my hand and we ran off through the backdoor just before it got crowded. After running miles I stopped to take a breather as I said "Luci, I think we lost them we can take a break now" I tried to catch my breath as layed back against the wall in the corner. "I thought they wanted something from me? Why did they now want my life?" I asked and he scoffed he seemed not really that suprised that all this was happening. He seemed prepared but Luci was just that adaptive and I wasn't willing to doubt him he was my only help. "He isn't from the same gang. Infact he isn't even from a gang he is a killer." He said and my eyes widened who could I have offended that was after my life? "A killer? There is no one that should be after my life, no one should be even able to dear to harm me" I said and he smiled. "We'll talk about that later, let's just try our best to protect our lives now" he said and he smiled at me as we began in our journey again. Honestly this was complicated really! This wasn't the first Ethan left the house and I decided to give my self a breather infact I had been doing that in years and nothing this dangerous happened. What was different? I questioned my self as we walked down the alley finally getting into an open and busy road. I smiled at Lucian as our minds synced. We first got into a mall where got our selves a chanve of clothes before we went to eat at a restaurant which looked sort of high end. "We can just take a cab and go home now" I said to him as I sighed all I wanted to do right now was get back home before I got into another trouble with Ethan. Lucian gave me a reassuring smile but I could tell he was worried "I don't feel that's the best thing to do, let's relax in a hotel first" Though he said it like we were going to have a lesire time I could see the seriousness in his eyes and although I wished to get back to my residence as soon as possible I still had to preserve my leave first. He got into the packing lot as he took a random bike and claimed on giving me the helmet I looked at the bike suspiciously before I asked "Don't you want to know who owns that?" "I got someone to prepare it for us and I know it by the logo. Why else would my key fit in." He asked and I shrugged he was right. I hoped on and we rode to an hotel and I was hit with confusion this was an high end hotel with top security but why couldn't we just go home. "Luci? Since we know have the bike why do we still have to come here to hide?" I asked and he chuckled, I couldn't believe he found my serious question funny. "We are not here to hide, this is just to distract them from our original location and the bike carries too much risk if we can't divert them, who will protect you in your home if they followed you there?" His words made me hit my forehead as I felt like the dumbest person ever this was were obvious things and I failed to notice. This time around we didn't even lodge in as they directly gave us keys. "Can we finally talk now?" I asked seeing this had died down a little and because I also had a thousand questions streaming through my mind. Lucian led me to the coffee room and we took a table as we sat down to talk. "This hotel needs reservation. How were able to reserve it?" My question seemed stupid and even I knew it but I just had to ask the Lucian I knew would have never gotten all of this mapped out in just minutes. "That's a weird questions to ask" he said and I just rolled my eyes but he answered either ways "I got someone to reserve this spot just like I got someone to reserve the bike." "Did you know that we were going to get attacked by another person and end up on this street. How were so precise in your reservations?" I scoffed at his reply he was really so connected huh? "I didn't know we would get attacked but I did plan for us to stay at this hotel in the first place. The bike was just sent according to my location" His words seemed to have logic and although I wanted to suspect him but he had protected me throughout this whole trip he wasn't supposed to be suspected. This is all so sudden for me why do I now feel like Ethan had always protected me with his residence but I knew fully well that he didn't. "So how long are we to stay in this hotel. I have somewhere to get to urgently" I said and he looked at the watch on his hands before she replied. "Not too long, just wait till I confirm that we have shaken them off" he said and I breathe out a sigh of relief. What a crazy turn my day to relax took. Now I wasn't relaxing but in grave danger. "Where did you run off to after college? I couldn't seem to get to you, everyone couldn't get to you. You just ghosted" I said and he smiled, this high end life really wasn't for me, I would do anything to change the topic at this moment and I missed my friend. "My father said we should switch cities bit I also tried to reach out to you and I couldn't catch you, you also seemed to ghost" He said and I chuckled there was no way he would try to reach out to someone and never reach them "That's really funny from someone who's as able to reach out to the president who am I that you can't reach out to" He chuckled hard at my words and I rolled my eyes "You know I never reached out to any president. Don't tell me you actually thought I did?" His words made me roll my eyes as I sat back and I saw Ryan one of Ethan's friends. If he ever saw me and Ethan knows that I was in a hotel with a man? I would be doomed and no explanation could save me. I made an impulse move and hid under the table and watched the leg movement until I saw it leave and I breathe out a sigh of relief when I tried to make my way back up and I saw Lucian was also under the table. "You scared me! What are you doing there?" "Why did you hide here like that? Did you see one of the men?" He asked and I shrugged him off as I sat up on the chair. "I...I just picked up something that fell" I lied with a broad fake smile on my face and he gave me teh same fake as he pointed behind me and I heard his voice call my name to my horror. "Paris!?" I turned back to see Ryan standing right in front of me, oh no! I was doomed.CHAPTER 1 : THE GAME STARTSAstridHILLTOWN PACKING LOTI looked down at the result in my hands and a smile broke out on my face. It was finally happening I had waited for years to have this baby and I couldn't wait to tell him the news.I smiled to myself immediately I caught sight of Calvin's car. He must have been concerned about having a child; we had waited five years, and it was finally happening. I wonder what his reaction will be.I was only a few steps from his car when I saw him. I would feel less stressed if I could call him. "Ca..!" The next sight shook me to my core: Judy was with Carter."No, it could not be..." I reassured myself as I hurriedly approached the alley I saw them enter; it could be that they caught sight of each other, or I was having hallucinations."Ca—cal—calvin!" I trembled at the sight of him making out with her in such a place and at such a time."You told me you would forgotten about her. Right? "What are you all doing here?" I gulped; there must be

Never would I have thought that our trio would end up like this.I raised my hand, ready to kick the ring off, but I remembered his words before he started this: 'Play along' was what he whispered in my ear. I put on a smile, reluctantly dropping my hand to his face as I said, "Yes, I will marry you."The crowd erupted in applause, even giving a standing ovation, and how much I wanted to roll my eyes at them—what fakers. But why wouldn't they? It was Caspian. No one could bear offending anyone in his lineage. From the corner of my eye, I could see Sage's mother panting heavily; she must have never thought that her son's burial would be an avenue for an engagement for me."Congratulations," someone shook his hand while he smiled lowly. "Your father has always been wishing for you to get married; I never thought you actually would." He took him away as he spoke, and I was a
NinaMy scream broke through the house as I could hear approaching footsteps to the house. “Who are you?” I asked the lady who was between the curtains before I got distracted by the opening of the door.“Is everything fine?” Rein asked, and I shook my head negatively.“No, nothing is fine. First, you all locked me up here, and now she is…” I said, looking to my side, but the figure I had seen there was gone. “Where is she?” I asked, about to twirl when she tapped my shoulder, and I looked back, frightened to see her behind me.“You…” I was speechless at this point. So her first scare attempt wasn't enough; she had to continue it.“That's Helen, your childhood friend. Don't you remember?” Rein asked, and I ohed, the memory of her face flashing through my mind. I raised a finger as I pointed towards her, shaking it vigorously before I ohed again; I had found my ticket to escape.“You can leave now, Rein.” I said, waving him off, and he scoffed as he walked out the door while I pulled H
Nina“I am watching your every move, watch your back,” the letter read, and her eyes twitched as I began shaking. I looked back to see if anyone was watching me, but I couldn't find anyone behind me. I held on to the letter tightly as my mind roamed freely in what could go wrong. What if they were actually after my life? What exactly happened after I left the country? Why was everything so dangerous? Just in that deep moment of thought, I felt a hand on me, and I shrilled.“What's wrong? Why are you so shocked?” she asked, and looking at the face, I recognized it was Helen. I breathed out a sigh of relief as I hid the paper behind me.“I guess the crowd is just too much; we should leave before we lose each other again,” I said, and she nodded, walking forward a little, but she stopped as she turned back to me boldly.“What are you hiding behind you?” she asked, and I shook my head negatively. Immediately getting defensive, I began stepping backward. “Nothing, I just feel like standing

Why is everywhere so silent?” I asked, but he didn't seem interested in my question.“I asked what you are doing here. This isn't somewhere you can be,” he said, and just at that moment, I heard a sound from a corner, most likely the corner he was coming from, and my curiosity getting the best of me, I inched forward.“Who was that?” I asked as I did, and he pulled me back, dragging me towards the back of a pillar in the house as he signaled for me to keep quiet.Still making sure his hands were placed on my lips, he peeped out from the pillar, carefully scanning with his eyes whoever he didn't want to see me. “I already told you. You shouldn't be here,” he said finally pulling his hand off my lips, probably because the coast was finally clear.“So what's wrong? What exactly are we hiding from, and why did you just start to ignore me after you greatly disrespect

You told me to go to Caspian that the city wasn't safe. Don't you remember?” I asked, but his voice sounded confused and afflicted as Caspian looked at me weirdly; this was everything far from what I wanted.“I don't, I didn't tell you to do that. I can never…” He said, desperation obvious in his voice, and my heart ached. What exactly was going on? Why was everyone so…? “Wait, give the phone to Caspian.”I raised a brow as I asked, “How do you know I am with him?” I asked, and all I heard was a scoff from the other end as Caspian took up the phone, putting off the speaker, and walked away to receive the call while I paced back and forth in his room.Though it was a part of my plan to come here in the first place, after that message, there was no way I could, and I sure didn't want him thinking th
