ADELINE'S POV

The warm scent of freshly baked bread wafted into my nose as I sat in the room unpacking. It was a scent that I hadn't smelled in a long time, not since I left for Manhattan.

The Familiar warmth of the place was just so comforting. Likewise kind of blanket and for a moment, I forgot about everything else; the worry, the disappointment of Xander's sudden departure, and the tension I knew was waiting for me upstairs. My thoughts were interrupted when a voice floated down the hallway.

"Adeline, are you in your room." It was my grandmother. Her voice was followed by the sound of her quick footsteps.

"Yeah." I chirped excitedly. When I entered my room it was just as I remembered it. It was bright and airy with soft pastel color and the bed which was nearly made followed by my favorite quilt which was folded at the foot.

I set my suitcase down the bed and took a deep breath, trying to calm my thoughts. I knew what was coming for me whenever I would go to see my grandfather

her grandfather is too difficult and unreasonable, hope he does not mess up things, Xander loves your granddaughter leave them to love each other without the constant problems

SMH makes no sense. It’s too intense for an emergency. They were at the hospital when he was hurt. Where does the hostility and doubt come from. Why haven’t he already checked out Xander.
