TRISTIAN’S POV

I learned back in the plush chair with a glass of whiskey in my hand as I watched the cards being dealt on the table in front of me. As much as I did not like this place, I was grateful for things like this, things that would make me feel a sense of freedom even though I was locked in prison. The room was dim, almost dark, but my eyes had already gotten accustomed to the slight darkness.

The air was also thick with the smell of cigar smoke and the sound of laughter as my fellow inmates discussed on top of their voices. This was not what most people would picture when they thought of a prison but then again, I was not most people because I had contacts and I had people who would help me no matter what situation I was in stop even though it had been impossible to get me out of here, I had been able to leave the way I wanted and not by anybody's rules.

There was nothing more satisfying than that. I was still figuring out a way to get myself out of this precarious situat
