ADELINE'S POV

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with Xannder and this time around I just couldn't stop thinking about it. Last time I had the hope that he was going to call me back big right now Ie ad more than certain that he was not going to call and that told me that something had happened. It gnawed at me and made it impossible to focus on anything at all. I tried calling him again, but the call didn't go through- just like the last dozen times. My heart kept pounding in my chest each and every time that I thought about it.
