We went back to the top of the house. I wanted to ask Xander what he was doing down there with an inhuman man that came close to killing him. But seeing how he was himself, he probably won't take me bringing up how he had almost been bested a few minutes ago.

"You have something to say." He mutters just as we got to the door of his office.

I didn't know why I followed him here. But I saw him heading there and I just followed.

"How did you guess that.", I kept my voice flat, trying to not give any of my thoughts away.

"Just a hunch," he turns to me after shrugging. His hand was on the doorknob but he doesn't turn it and open it. "And I called your name thrice but got no response. You were deep in thought." He smiles, stealing my breath. "It wasn't really that hard to guess."

I bit my lip. Asking myself if I wanted to give him the benefit of being right. I wouldn't kill me. But it was surely annoying.
