Chapter eight

Kate knew why he was saying all that but she didn't feel bad in any way because she somehow liked her.

So she stared in the direction where Cindy was going, she tapped Dave on his shoulder and tilted her head,

"Is that so?" Kate asked and gasped for air, "If we can't fight her, then let's make her our friend." She said and followed the exact direction where Cindy was heading to.

Cindy was deeply in thought that she didn't know what was transpiring around her, but she jolted back to presence immediately she heard someone's voice behind her. 

"Hi Cindy, am Kate... Kate Williams." Saying that she sat down on the pavement that was just beside her, Cindy face palmed, and looking at her, she asked, "You know my name... huh? You were not in the college before I left, so how come you know about me?" Cindy asked peacefully.

"Like seriously? Are you asking me such a question?" Kate asked arrogantly as she smiled wildly at Cindy who was fully surprised by her arrogant behaviour.

"So Kate, how may I be of help to you?" Cindy asked again crossing her arms over her chest and giving her a quick glance.

"Cindy..., it's obvious you like asking questions," She paused as she looked away from her and nodded. She didn't like how Cindy was asking her lots of questions, but she decided to let her know why she was there.

"Okay Cindy, I want us to be friends, are you okay with that?" Kate asked.

Cindy tilted her head, looking coyly at her, she said, "Okay that's fine, provided you won't involve me in any mess."

She said that because Kate's arrogance was not hidden, adding that she never knew her in the first place so that she won't put her into trouble.

She accepted to be her friend but she still keeps distance, she knew that Kate wasn't her type of person and of cause everybody won't be as gentle as she is, so she somehow liked her brutality.

Eduardo left his office very late because of some document he needed to sign.

Immediately he got to a particular place on his way home, a big truck that was behind him suddenly fell break and it almost hit his car but he was fast enough to dodge it, the truck fell in the middle of the road and that stopped him from moving further.

Stepping out of his car, two guys came rushing towards him from nowhere, reaching close to him they pointed a gun at him from a different direction.

"Move it...," One of the guys ordered him pointing at a narrow road and he shrugged and followed them. 

He actually knows how to handle this kind of people, but he wanted to know who was behind the whole thing and exactly what he wanted from him.

So the slight opportunity he had, he quickly texted Dean and relaxed.

Reaching their destination, they open the entrance door that leads into an old abandoned building. Looking at the old building one could see apparently that is a 'no go' area. 

Immediately he entered the building, he examined the whole building looking around and he found out that they were few men in there, so he followed them patiently.

They didn't strike him as it was not part of the instructions, what they needed was just some of his access, so they continued pushing him as he was walking gallantly, not showing any gesture of fear.

Based on Cain's first encounter with Eduardo, Cain knew how tough and cruel Eduardo could be.

'Eduardo letting us capture him so easily and still didn't fight to escape...huh,' He cleared his throat, 

'There's something behind his action and who knows what he planned this time?' He thought for himself but still couldn't figure out his plans, fear slowly gripped him.

So they actually suspected him, but what plan did he have and in which way?..., they didn't know.

"Guy, there's something I don't understand," Cain said walking away from Eduardo.

"What do you mean?" Rock asked with a husky voice and continued while following him.

"Cain look... You don't need to understand anything, what we need to do now is to figure out how to have his pieces of jewellery." Saying that he went back to speak with Eduardo without listening to what Cain was saying.

'Rock!...' Cain sighed and continued with his thoughts, 'Rock won't understand..., this guy can't be this calm if he has no hidden intention.'

Cain walked out of the room with his fist clenched as he paced around before going back to the room.

Eduardo was still calm and waiting for them to make calls in his presence but they didn't, suddenly, he heard one of the guys talking.

"You don't need to understand anything." He could only hear a few words before he saw them coming back.

Both of them returned to the room where Eduardo was and suddenly he reacted angrily, how he loosed the rope nobody knows and all the men in the building groaned in pain as their bones clacked.

Before Dean got there with the FBI, Eduardo had squeezed the life out of them, one after the other and was sitting on a stool holding Rock's phones.

The big door opened and immediately Eduardo looked up he saw Dean.

Dean rushed into the building thinking that he would find Eduardo tied up but he was surprised by what he saw, rushing close to him,

"I thought as much," Dean said as he walked around him and didn't see any stain on his clothes but saw a few men moaning in pain on the ground.

"Stop staring at me Dean, just give me your car key... You can stay back and watch them to your satisfaction." Saying that Eduardo started walking out of the building.

"No! No! No!..., am right behind you." Saying that he followed him briskly, they entered the car and both of them drove away.

Immediately the car stopped at his place, Dean looked at him and he could see that he was still very angry, his eyes were red and a hot breathe was coming out of his nostril, so he walked into the house just like a ghost and Dean followed him without saying a word.

When he noticed that Dean was following him, he halted while removing a phone from his pocket,

"This phone belongs to their leader, check if we can get tangible information in it." Giving Dean the phone, he turned his back on him before speaking,

"You can go now." He said strictly and went to his room, then Dean left and went back straight to his house.

Sincerely, he missed Cindy a lot, as she went to college, Dean was left alone just like before but this time around he felt lonely because he has stayed with Cindy for a few weeks and he has gradually become used to not staying alone in his big house.

He went to his room and after taking his shower, he laid down on the bed but couldn't sleep, so he decided to call her even though it was late.

Cindy was still awake as she was studying and her cell phone buzzed, she looked at her phone and picked. She didn't hesitate to pick up the call with the thought that her brother was calling.

"Hello...," She said excitedly and her voice was booming with happiness.

"Hi Cindy..., how are you coping over there?" He asked, taking a deep breath, he ran his fingers through his hair and asked again,

"Are you finding anything difficult?"

"No..., I am fine with how everything is and am gradually getting used to their system already."

She explained calmly, her voice was still pure and innocent, immediately he heard her voice, he felt elated and wished that the call should never end.

"So tell me, do you have friends now?" He asked because the little time he stayed with her, he noticed that she was always isolated.

"Yea...erm, there's this friend of mine, her name is Kate and she is a tough girl, Dean, you need to see her." She explained as she was smiling.

"Really?" He asked and hearing how she was talking about this friend of hers, he chuckled.

"So is that why you've totally forgotten me?" He asked 

"No!..., how can I do that? It's just that I am...I am..." she trailed off as she tried to explain to him why she hasn't called him but he felt like there was no need for that so he cut her words.

"It's okay, my regards to her and Cindy please stay safe." He said.

"Are you angry?" She asked worriedly.

"No!..., now that I know you are safe and happy, I can go to bed now." Cindy chuckled and that was the first time he heard her laugh so he closed his eye and calmly listened to her voice like he wanted to engross it all in his head because it sounds so sweet and angelic.
