"Abby! I need you down here ASAP!" That's my mom waking me up before she leaves for work. She is a doctor in the pack hospital and usually has to wake me up at ungodly hours before she leaves. I groan as I get out out of bed and stretch my sore muscles from training with my dad last night. I walk downstairs giggling. I reach the bottom and my mom smiles as she raises her eyebrows, "Care to share?" I start laughing even harder as I reply. "I was finally able to knock dad on his ass last night! I wish you could've seen the look on his face!"

Mom laughs and shakes her head, "I'm sure he was a combination of proud and shocked. Listen, I need you to get your sisters ready for school this morning. I need to leave early for work. I may be late tonight too. I'm on call. Would you fix dinner for everyone?" I cock my head to one side, "Sure". "Thanks. Please try not to be late for school." she says and walks out the door.

I look at the clock for the first time and see that it's only 4:45am. UGH! I still have 2 hours until I have to get my sisters up for school. This sucks. Not enough time to go back to sleep. I go to my room and change into my black sports bra and my black leggings and walk downstairs to our gym/training room. Being the daughter of the lead warrior in our pack has its perks. I can work out anytime I want.

It's my favorite way to get my day started and to take out my anger when I have a bad day... which is every single school day. You see, while I love my life at home, I hate my life at school. I am bullied every. single. day. I have no idea why either. Noone wants to talk to me, much less tell me why. I have one friend that I trust, and she is my one-phone-call kind of friend.

Kayla is the pack Gamma's daughter. He is in charge of training the pack warriors and head of security. Kayla and I have been best friends since kindergarten. Her dad and my dad take turns training us in fighting every night. She's the only one who I have trusted with all my secrets.

You might be asking why I let them bully me if I can fight? Here is the main reason: We go to a human school. All of our pack kids go to human schools throughout the metro St. Louis area. Bet you didn't know you had werewolves going to school with your kids. Here's the reason you didn't know: Rule number one in our community is we are not allowed to let the humans know what we are. It would just cause too many problems for us and them. There are a few teachers who know because they work for our pack alpha in the summer months.

It used to be just the pack kids who were picking on me, but that ended up expanding to the human kids over time. So you're probably wondering why I don't kick their asses if I can fight? I'm afraid that if I hit them, it will kill them. Werewolf strength is approximately 200 times stronger than human strength. Once, when I was 12, a boy in my class stood behind me at a crosswalk on my way home and started pulling my hair and calling me a loser. I grabbed my backpack and swung it around and sent him flying backward. There were only two things that saved me from being in major trouble that day. One, I only had one book in my backpack and. two, there was approximately 8 inches of snow on the ground, so he had a fairly soft landing. He left me alone for a few days after that, but he eventually went right back to it without the hair pulling. I can handle names and words, but don't put your hands on me and DO NOT mess with my family.

I'm in the middle of my warm up when I hear my phone. I pick it up and see a text from Kayla:

K: Are you up?

Me: Yeah. Starting my workout before school. Wanna join?

K: Sure. I'll grab my stuff and come over.

So... Why is Kayla up this early? Her mom is a pack doctor too. I think that's why we get along so well. Our lives are almost identical except that she only has one younger sister while I have two and her dad usually gets to be home in time to cook dinner whereas my dad usually gets home a little later, but he is normally home in time to eat the dinner I cook for us.

A few minutes later, Kayla walks in through the basement door. "Hey, were you able to tell your mom about last night before she left?" I giggled and said "Yeah. She really wasn't surprised. She knows how hard we train". Kayla starts her stretches while I started lacing up my boxing gloves. "So what's on your mind?" Kayla sighs as she bends sideways to stretch her sides, "I've been thinking... Your 17th birthday is coming up." I stop what I'm doing and look at her, "And? Do you honestly think my mate is around here? Even if he is, he's going to reject me. Noone around here wants me around. Why should my mate be any different?"

At the age of 17, werewolves are able to find their mate. The other half of their soul. The wolf who the Moon Goddess created just for us. My parents are mates and they have a rock solid relationship. They are very much in love. My sisters and I have to tell them to get a room many times a day. The same goes for Kayla's parents. It's embarrassing when you're young, but at our age, it's a life goal. There is literally noone else who can make us feel complete than our mate.

"Why must you be so negative about it? Don't you think a wolf can change once he finds his mate?" Kayla asks. I stop punching the bag and say, "No. I Don't. Besides, all of the guys in our pack are royal assholes. They all have a superiority complex and wouldn't tolerate a mate who can defend herself". Kayla sighs once again, "I guess you're right. That might be why my mate is nowhere to be found." As I stand there contemplating on the subject, I look at the clock. It's already 5:45. Just enough time for me to get my shower and get dressed for school before I get my sisters ready. "Wow! My how time flies! I need to get in the shower and get ready for hell. I mean school." Kayla laughs and says, "I don't know why you tolerate them. I would've beat all their asses by now". I just shake my head, "If I kicked every one of their asses, that would raise some serious red flags about what I am. You know how many there are. I'm better off tolerating it for another 2 months when we graduate." Kayla agreed and left to go home to shower and get her sister up for school.

After I shower, I put on a pair of my favorite boot cut jeans and a comfy t-shirt. I brush my waist length brown hair out and let it air dry. I don't bother with much makeup, just a little lip gloss and a little eye liner. Time to head to Adriana's room... my drama queen sister. She's only 2 years younger than me, but much higher maintenance than my youngest sister, Alexis.I shake Adriana, "Ade! C'mon! It's time to get up for school. Get up and get dressed." Adriana squirms around and start kicking the covers off, "Why are you always in my face?" "Whoa little sister!" I step back, "I only wake you up when I absolutely have to. If I had my choice, I wouldn't. You are entirely too grumpy. Besides, you're going to miss me in a few months when I go to college and I can't wake you up anymore." She looks at me with a smirk, "If you can find a school that will accept you." I walk out of her room ignoring her comment because I know she just wants to get a reaction out of me, and I r

The rest of the day went the same way it always does. Me keeping my head down, ignoring the whispers, the name calling, avoiding the occasional foot purposely put in my path to trip me (one of the adventages to be constantly looking at the floor). After school, I met up with my sisters and Kayla and started walking home.We are half way home when I hear someone running up behind me. Trying to avoid another situation like this morning, I turn quickly and see our future Alpha running up to me, "Abby! Why are you in such a hurry to leave?" I raise my eyebrows and shake my head, "You really don't care about anything except what effects you personally. Sorry Alpha, I have to go". I start to turn and he grabs my wrist and turns me around.I can no longer hide my irritation and say, "What do you want Alpha? I have to get home and cook dinner for my family." He continues holding my wrist and says, "I know your birthday is coming up. Are you having a party?" I shake

After dinner, dad told Adriana to load the dishwahser because he wanted to talk to me. We sit down in the living room, and dad says, "Abby I know everyone has been asking you about your birthday, but we need to have a serious discussion about it. It's only a week away and some important things could happen and I want you to be fully prepared for it". Just then mom walks in. Dad tells her what he just said and mom kicks off her shoes, sits down and says, "Okay. Let's talk". Dad starts the discussion, "We all know that it's very possible that you could meet your mate that day and you need to be extra careful". I hold up a hand and say, "Dad, I highly doubt that any of the guys in this pack are my mate. They are all royal assholes. None of them are interested in a mate who can defend herself. They want to be dominant instead of equals like you and mom. I won't settle for less than what you two have. Besides, I have my wolf training right after I graduate high school. I don't ha

Adam's POV I've been trying to catch Abby alone all day today. It's not like she's popular. The problem is just the opposite. Everyone has been ganging up on her harder this year than ever before. But it's not like I ever did anything about it before either. Combine that with Dina hanging all over me all day, and I didn't stand a chance. When I saw her rushing to get out of the building, I saw my chance. As I followed her out of the building, I kept getting this faint feeling that she may be my mate. To be honest, that's why I've been having sex with as many of these whores as I can. My wolf, Maximus, keeps telling me she's our mate, but I'm having a hard time figuring out if I want her. She never does anything about the bullying at school. I need a strong Luna, but she also needs

Abby's POV"Well, ladies, you did well tonight." Beau says to Kayla and me. I start laughing, "I'd say we have officially hit badass fighter status. We both managed to knock the pack Gamma on his ass!" Kayla and I laugh as we high five. Beau shakes his head and laughs, "I guess you have. I'm really proud of both of you". I give him a big hug, "Thanks dad number two! You have no idea how much you and mom number two mean to me!" Then I turn to Kayla, "I gotta get home and shower. I feel like I smell like a wet goat!" Kayla scrunches her nose, "Your feeling would be correct". We both laugh as I walk out. I text my dad letting him know I'm on my way home. He hates it when he doesn't know when to expect me home. "Mom, if I have to wear a dress for my birthday, I would prefer this one" I say as I hold up a knee-length, off-shoulder black gown with sequined accents around the neckline. We have been arguing about the dress for 20 minutes. Every time I would try one on, one of us would gush over it while the other three would scrunch their noses. I was really getting tired of trying on dresses. Suddenly a saleslady comes over with a dress that is in a black garment bag, "Ladies! I have the perfect compromise for all of you! This gown has a little bit of everything each of you want. Plus, it's an original design by one of our employees. Noone else has ever worn this dress!" Leah's eyes light up, "That's what is going to set her apart from every other young lady on Earth that day!" I roll my eyes and follow the saleslady to the dressing rooms. As she unlocks one of them, she hands me the dress and says, "This is the perfect compromise. It's floor length, so your mother will be hap

It has been 4 days since my shopping trip, and I am really starting to dread my birthday. I had a particularly hard day at school today. I managed to get supper fixed, then limped up to my room before my parents got home. I know I have some broken ribs and my leg is broken from being kicked and stomped on by Dina and her groupies. She kept saying something about me trying to take Adam from her. I tried telling her I don't want him, but she didn't believe me. I look in the mirror and my face is really bruised up too. One eye is swollen shut, my nose is broken, and my lip is split. Thank Goddess for werewolf healing. I should look normal by morning. I just need to stay away from my parents until morning. I change into a tank top and shorts and sit at my desk to do some homework when my phone vibrates. It's Kayla: K: How are you feeling? M: Hurting like hell, but I should be better by morning. I wake up at 6am, on my own, wondering why my mom didn't wake me up before she went to work. I smell the air in my room, and it smells like someone has been in here. Specifically, it smells like Adam's scent. But why would he be in here? It makes no sense at all. I go to stretch and feel a pain in my ribs. I guess those aren't completely healed yet. Maybe I should think about staying home from school today so I can at least start my birthday injury-free. I walk downstairs and find my parents in the kitchen drinking coffee. I look at them with a confused look. Might as well tell them about my suspicions. "Morning," I start as I pour a cup of coffee, "I had a really weird night last night. I woke up about an hour after going to bed last night after I thought I heard a few camera clicks. I took a sniff of the air in my room, and it even smelled like someone had been in my room while I was sleeping. The scent is slightly there now". My dad jumps up and runs to my room. My mom ju

Wow. Just wow. That is all I can seem to say these days. My triplets, Jack, Josh, and Brianda are already thirteen years old. Niki is fifteen, Luna is sixteen, and Caleb and Kurt are seventeen now. It’s crazy how time flies. Sylvie is now eighteen. She first shifted at sixteen, and still hasn’t found her mate, but we knew that It’s going to take an extra strong mate to be able to handle her omega powers. There have been several attempts to take her, but she has done very well at defending herself. It also doesn’t hurt that we now have assigned two more bodyguards to her. She hates it as much as I did, but she admits that it is needed. My mom is having her annual ball for unmated species, so we are in my old pack, visiting and letting Sylvie, Caleb, and Kurt go to the ball. Sylvie decided she wanted a leather dress, like the one I wore on the night Conri, and I met. We went, with my mother, to the same leather shop that I shopped in, and I immediately saw a dress that I felt

We were about to start Sylvie's party, when Nico, Brenna, and their twins, Alex and Ashley came in. They were followed by Seth, Shayla and their three children, Kevin, Kasey, and Kinsley along with Seth's parents. I was so happy to see Seth so happy. He deserves that. Lupe and Mike came in with their two children, Caine, and Kaylie. Mike looked happier than I ever remember seeing him. After we got back from our honeymoon, I told Lupe about Mike being the mate I rejected, and I was so happy that none of that mattered to her. She knew there is no way I would go back to him now and I knew that Mike was blissfully happy with her. He came to realize it too and apologized to me for the tough time he had given me. I told him I forgave him and to just be happy with Lupe. That was all I wanted for both of them. Trina has since been changed to a Centaur, and she is a beautiful one. They have four children now and could not be happier. After celebrating Sylvie's birthday, Conri a

So, I'm sitting on one of our garden chairs, watching our children play. It's so hard to believe that five years ago we were handed this sweet little girl who, literally, put peace in our hearts. Today, we are going to be celebrating her fifth birthday. We have never kept her story from her. From the time she was old enough to tell her bedtime stories, I have told her the story of the beautiful and brave mother who gave birth to a child who would be a gift to all in our species. The mother was sad, because her Alpha was an evil man who would lock the child away, if he knew she existed. So, she wrapped the baby in a warm blanket and added a note, asking whoever found her to take her to the king. She knew the king was known as a kind and caring man. The king suggested the Prince and the Princess raise her as their own. They all loved her the moment they laid eyes on her. During all the celebration in finding such an amazing child, the Alpha got very angry and started searching for the

After the reception, Conri and I slipped into Sylvie's nursery, said goodbye, and we left for our honeymoon. To say the honeymoon was amazing would be an understatement. He took me to a private island in the Caribbean, and I was in heaven. We spent our days, laying in the sun, fruity cocktails in hand, and our nights having the most mind-blowing sex we'd ever had. We celebrated being in love, being a family, and, most of all, being best friends. I never imagined in all of my life, that having a mate could make you feel so complete. Conri held true to his word, we went to a restaurant just a few times, but we mostly had a private chef come in and cook for us. I told Conri that I could cook, but he would have no part of it. He just wanted us to relax and just enjoy being together. I loved this side of him. I also loved his playful side when we swam in the sea. I loved jumping on his back and making him fall into the warm water. It was all a dream come true for me. One day, I voiced th

My life is nowhere nearly as exciting as yours lately, from what I'm hearing from dad and Aidinth! I laugh, "What can I say, Things tend to happen in my presence. It's a curse." She laughs and I find out that she found her mate in another kingdom and moved there. She now has six children, and she is over the moon happy. I smiled, "I am so happy for you! I haven't seen you since I was around six years old. I am so glad you are staying for our wedding. I want you to meet my mate and my new daughter!" Maia got excited, "That was fast! A daughter already?" I laughed, "Adopted daughter. It's definitely a story to tell." We went to Conri, and I said, "Prince Conri, please meet Princess Maia. She is Aidinth's sister!" My mom said, "Honey, take the honeymoon. You guys will only get this one chance before life gets crazy. You two need this time for yourselves. Do it while you have an overabundance of babysitters who are more than happy to help you. This will give us some needed bonding time with Sylvie too." Conri said, "What if something happens?" Mom said, "Queen Winnie will come and get you, and teleport you back." Conri looked at me, "You did say you wanted to work on giving Sylvie and baby brother or sister. This will give us two weeks to try." I laughed and said, "Okay. But we spend the rest of today and tonight bonding with this little one." Conri said, "Sounds good to me." We sat in the conference room until Queen Carina, Queen Winnie and King Izzoth came back. They all reported that there had been no survivors, but they couldn't be certain that he was dead. I was so wrapped up in the moment, that Conri was able to sneak up behind me and whisper, "See something you like?" I turned around and put my arms around him and said, "You know, I never even gave children a thought before now. I knew I wanted them, eventually, but I figured it would happen on its own." He laughed, "It might help if we weren't using protection." I laughed, "Yeah, that might help. Seeing our families with Sylvie is making me want to give her a baby brother or sister." He said, "I don't mind starting on that right away. Do you?" I laugh, "Maybe after she goes to sleep tonight." He said, "You do know that until she can go in her own room, we are going to have to be quiet too." I said, "Yep. That may be an issue. We'll just have to wait and see what happens." I woke up this morning to the most exciting and terrifying thought of my life. Tomorrow is my wedding! I am excited and anxious and scared to death all at the same time! Conri is definitely the love of my life. He keeps telling me that he's loved me since we were ten years old, but I never have gotten to tell him that I fell in love with him at about the same age. I don't even remember when it happened or how I realized it. I just always hoped he would be my mate. Which is why I was so happy to reject Mike. The guy was a fucking idiot. My Conri, my Prince, is a thousand times better; in mind, body, looks and heart. I know there are not many men who would've stuck by me when I was paralyzed. I also know that, if they had stuck around, they wouldn't have taken the time to research ways to cater to me, without making me feel like a burden on them. Conri has always treated me as his equal and no less. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I will never take it for granted... ever.
