We just left St. Louis two hours ago and we are already at the school. It only took 20 minutes to get to Little Rock airport. When we got to the terminal, we saw signs with our fake names being held up. I walked up to him and said, "Cousin Gabriel?' He immediately wrapped his arms around me in a bear hug, "Thank Goddess you made it! I was so worried," then he looked at Kayla and said, "It's okay to relax now. We can protect her together. I have a car waiting. Do you have luggage to pick up"?
We each held up a bag and I said, "No. We had to pack just the essentials. We are going to need to stop for some clothes for the next couple days until we can go shopping for a few more outfits". "Good," Gabriel said, "It's not good to continue hanging around here. Alpha Dakari can be ruthless when he wants to find someone bad enough". Kayla and I looked at each other in a panic. Gabriel shook his head and said, "don't worry. Your families are covered. We had our IT techs send each
Please don't forget to rate my book and tell me how I'm doing. I appreciate all constructive criticism.
I started to call my dad's usual number, then remembered that they both have new phones with new numbers. Gabriel added all the new numbers to mine and Kayla's phones, and I called my dad. M: "Hey dad! We just got to the pack lands. It's beautiful here"! D: "Honey, you may need to stay there a while. Dakari is going ape shit. He nearly killed Adam because he rejected you. I think he's pissed that he can't find where you went". M: "That makes no sense! Adam told me that he didn't want to reject me, but his dad was making him". D: "I know. Adam is in the pack hospital and your mother is taking care of him. Adam is telling your mother to tell you that you won't be safe here until his dad steps down or dies". M: "He's not planning on killing his dad, is he?" D: "He's not planning it, but the time may come when he has to defend himself". M: "Okay. Well, I guess that's all he can do if he wants the pack's loyalty when he takes
Abby POV "Abby! Concentrate! You need to master levitation before we can go any farther". That's my trainer, Zayna. She is an amazing trainer, but she doesn't have much of a sense of humor. I have now been here two months and I am loving this life. It can be super frustrating at times, like now. I'm trying to levitate a huge boulder over eight feet in the air. To add to my motivation, she has Kayla standing less than 1 foot next to it. I have already almost landed the boulder on top of her a couple times. Now, as a way to relieve some of my stress, I laugh. It happens all the time. It started out with small giggles, but Kayla heard it and started trying to hold in a laugh, so now we are both doubled over in laughter. Zayna finally lets up, "you two are go
After we finished training for the day, Kayla and I went to our rooms with a plan on meeting in an hour. After my shower, I felt so sleepy, I felt like I couldn't keep my eyes open. I laid down on my bed and fell asleep immediately. As soon as I was asleep, the Moon Goddess appeared before me. I immediately smiled and asked her, "Is there ever going to be a time when I see you with my eyes open?" She laughed and said, "There might be, depending on the choices you make in the future". I almost got excited about that when she says, "I know Gabriel told you that you will be shifting tonight. Yara has been begging me to let you shift since you got there," she laughed, "I came to let you know what to expect and to bring some news". "This shift will not be as painful as your first shift," she continued, "Your body remembers the arrangement now. You will have mild pain, but it won't be as bad. You and Kayla will not need to worry about shredding your clothes either. Both of your wo
After five months of being here in Cold Springs Pack, Kayla and I had learned all of our powers and Zayna told us there will be more, but those would come when we need them. She said that all we needed to do is keep practicing with them now. Yara grinned, "should we practice on the warriors?" Freyja heard this and laughed, making Kayla and I laugh hysterically. Zayna looked at us suspiciously and said, "What's so funny?" I said, "Yara wants to practice on the warriors!" Zayna laughed, "They are training right now. You could practice levitation. Just try not to hurt them". Kayla and I ran to the training grounds and stood behind them. The pack Gamma, Josh, was smiling at us. Apparently, Zayna linked him and told him what we were going to do. He nodded and Kayla and I slowly raised our hands as all the warriors left the ground and levitated until they were 10 feet in the air before Zayna told us to stop. They had all been concentrating on sparring until one of th
It has only been a month since the announcement was made, but Kayla and I are feeling more and more like this is our pack. We love everyone here and they love us in return. Our warriors have learned a lot of new techniques for fighting, and Gamma Josh has been having them practice, with us trying to stump them with magic. At one point, I used my powers to split the earth shallowly beneath them, and they learned a technique for using that to their advantage. As time went on, Kayla and I could feel our strength growing. We are now able to use our magic all day and feel exhausted at the end of the day. We can also tell that the strength of our magic has grown exponentially. I was able to throw lightning at a boulder as big as an SUV and it exploded into pebbles. Gabriel laughed at that and said, "Well, we needed some more gravel for the driveway. Feel like doing a couple more?" I laughed and said, "sure," and I struck three more. I am now in the rose garden with Kayla,
We walk into the house and Alexis immediately runs up to Kayla and jumps into her arms. My mom walks up to me and immediately wraps her arms around me while Kayla's mom does the same with her, and Alexis, since she refuses to let go of Kayla. After mom lets go of me, I reach Adriana and hug her. She pulls back and says, "I'm so glad you're back. You can go back to cooking and taking care of the kid." I laughed, "Are you saying you can't handle what I do every day?" She laughs, "Maybe? I just know I don't like it". Everyone laughed at her while we walked into the living room and sat down and waited for Beau to come in. After Beau walked in, Kayla and I updated them on everything that we've learned and becoming future Alpha and Beta of the Cold Springs Pack. I think Kayla's parents were the most surprised at the news. Leah was the first to ask, "So what if you find your mates? What happens then?" Kayla says, "Then we have a couple options. We can continue being Alpha and Beta
Abby POV After Adam left, I looked behind me and Kayla giggled, "Girl, he's got it BAD. You can't say it's the mate pull either. That's been gone for months. He's just not listening to Dina's shit anymore". I giggled, "If you hadn't been here to hear it, I would've thought I was just imagining the whole thing. Thanks for that". She patted me on the back and said, "No problem. You know I got your back any time". I chuckled and said, "We better get some sleep. We have another big day tomorrow". We both laid down and I honestly think I was out before my head hit the pillow. I woke up the next morning to the amazing smell of a cup of coffee being held under my nose. I opened my eyes and realized I was smiling. My mom laughed and said, "Now I know how t
We decided that we should go to the dining room table, because it has more room. I asked them if it would be possible for Kayla and me to go take a quick shower so that we can be more comfortable. They all agreed, when my dad had to embarrass me. He said, "Of course. What is it you always say you smell like after a long workout?" I gave him a death glare and said, "A wet goat." Then I flicked a tiny lightning bolt at his arm on my way upstairs. He laughed and yelled, "OW! That hurt"! Everyone else chuckled. After I took a quick shower, I put my hair in a braid because I didn't have time for anything else. Then I looked in my closet and put on a pair of boot cut jeans and a black tank top. I then covered it with a coffee-colored button up silk shirt, but I left it unbuttoned. I put on a pair of Nikes and walked downstairs. Damien looked at me, smiled, and said, "Feel better, Abby?" I sighed, "Much better, thank you," as I started to sit next to him, but he immediately p
