Chapter 4

Scarlet's Pov:

My world stopped, as I saw Ryan kissing Beatrice ferociously, the man I gave my everything for. I watched as his hands moving hungrily over her body, pulling her closer.

No! It couldn't be real? This has to be a dream, a nightmare to be precise. I shook my head, jerking the thoughts away. I slowly opened my teary eyes, only to see my world shattering before my eyes. My hand flew to my mouth, my other hand held the gate for support as my knees gave up.

My hands trembled at my sides. I wiggled my fingers, trying to grasp anything. The world around me was spinning; my chest constricted like a caged bird with clipped wings, who's left alone in the cage to suffocate.

I couldn't feel the tears; I felt as if my body was wrapped up in a thick blanket of smoke like a winter morning. I can't see anything, can't feel anything. The world around me fading, as I stare at the shattering scene.

“God! I've missed you so much, mate,” Ryan whispered hoarsely against her lips. His voice dark with lust and hunger.

Mate?

What does he mean? I'm his mate not her.

“Mate? But we are not destined mates,” Beatrice pouted while rubbing her hand over his chest. Her perfectly manicured nails playing with the top button of his shirt.

Ryan has always hated when someone touch his clothes. He never let me play with his shirt buttons, complaining about how I'm being childish.

“You are my mate, Bea, my everything. For me, mate isn't someone Moon Goddess decides for us. Mate is the one we love, and I've only loved you in my life,” Ryan spoke tenderly while caressing her cheek with the back of his hand. His eyes shining with warmth and love.

" Of course you love me. Only I can make you feel this way. That ugly pumpkin is good-for-nothing," Beatrice giggled in her high-pitched voice.

"She doesn't even match with your status. People will look down on you because of her. I don't want you to be a laughing stock," Beatrice purred while pushing her boobs out, rubbing it against Ryan's clothed chest making him groan in ecstasy.

"You are kind-hearted and smart, darling. That's why I love you," Ryan whispered while sucking on her neck.

“Oh babe, I love you too, and I missed you more,” Beatrice giggled while battling her fake eyelashes. Ryan smiled fondly at her and kissed her softly, he held her as if she's his whole world.

I watched as Ryan's hand glided down Beatrice's back, inch by inch, all the way to her butt, slowly and sensually. My breath caught as he tugged on her lower lip, teasing her as she parted her lips for him.

Ryan plunged his tongue into her mouth, entangling it with hers, and giving it a passionate suck. A moan escaped Beatrice's mouth as Ryan squeeze her butt, spanking it afterwards.

Each of Ryan's groans felt like a stab to my heart. I had always longed to hear these sounds from his sinful mouth. He was never a groaner, just a silent lover. Or that's what I thought.

My feet glued to the ground, unable to move, to make sense of anything. It's like being caught in a nightmare, where my feet are stuck, and I'm powerless to escape.

A quiet voice screamed in my mind to look away, but my eyes didn't listen to my mind. Betrayal churned my chest. My mind races to every smile he’s given me, every kiss, every night spent together. Were they all lies?

My hand went towards my belly, as I gently held it. Today was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives, but I never knew it would turn out like this. My mind raced with thousands of questions I couldn't answer. I want to scream at him, but no words are forming.

Why?

This question was swirling in my mind, numbing my senses. No, no, he can't do this to me, to our child. How can he? He has always wanted a child, than what changed?

Shaking my head, I furiously wiped away the tears, but they kept coming, and took a step into the office.

“Feyraen, myrah venr,” a voice whispered, and my feet halt. A gust of wind surged past me, almost knocking me down. My hand quickly shot out, grabbing the door handle to steady myself.

(Stop, my child)

The words weren't just sounds, they gripped me. I spun around, my heart hammering against my chest, but no one was there. Suddenly, the surrounding become heavy.

My eyes scanned every corner, but nothing stirred, nothing was out of order. The omegas were busy, hunched over their tasks, gossiping among themselves.

“Oh my Ryan,” I jumped a little as the moans of Beatrice broke me out of my reverie. I looked back to see Ryan and Beatrice still entangled together. They were so lost in each other that they didn't see me, nor did they hear anything.

“Ah baby,” Ryan's hand slowly and sensually started going near her most forbidden part. My breath stopped, as Ryan's hand disappeared, under Beatrice's skirt and she threw her head back, moaning loudly.

I stood there frozen, memories of our shared moments flooding my mind. Our laughter, our dreams, his love confession, each moment. How can he throw it away? Where did it go wrong?

And then the realization washed over me like an iced cold bucket of water, all those late night pack meetings, those months long supervisions. Everything was a lie? How can I be so blind ?

Without thinking, I spun around and ran away. Stopping few steps away, I glance back too see Ryan's laughter echoing in the hallway. My heart bled, as I saw him holding her tenderly as if afraid to break her. The weight of betrayal pressing on my heart like a heavy stone, making it difficult to breath.

Feeling suffocated, I pushed the omegas out of my way and fled into the hallway. My chest tightened as I struggled to breathe. Fisting the front of my dress near my heart, I gasped choking on the sobs that wouldn't stop.

“Hey freak, watch where you are going,” Natasha yelled as I shoved her of my way, her lips curled into a sneer. Her green smoothie slipped from her hand, splattering all over her. She cursed loudly while glaring at me but I didn't stopped.

Drusilla shouted, standing up from the sofa as I ran past the living room “ Where do you think you are running to, you good-for-nothing wretch? Go make me my peppermint tea,".

I didn't heard anything, the sound of my world-shattering rang in my mind, numbing my senses and blocking all other sounds.

With tears raining from my eyes, I ran as fast as my legs could take me. Away from the man, I thought was mine. Away from the lie, I lived for five years.
