(Migumi’s POV)
Without warning, the phantom wolf strikes, moving like a shadow as a blur of black lightning streaks across the room. I prepared myself as its glowing eyes embers in the darkness, locked onto me with deadly intent.
“I don't want to die, Migumi!” Nyx shouted nervously.
The beast lunges into thin air, its jaws snapping shut with a force that could shatter bone.
I snarled.
“Don't worry. I don't have plans of dying either,” I said as I leaped away from the spot that the phantom wolf had targeted. But to my surprise, its sharp claws caught my arm, shifting me back to my human form.
“What happened?!” I frustratingly asked Nyx who seemed just as confused as me.
“I… I don't know! I think he has the ability to block your shifting,” she said, making me curse mentally. “I’m sorry, but I think you're going to have to fight it in your human form. Don't worry. I
(Migumi’s POV)“We actually did it. I can't believe it!!!” my wolf chirped in excitement. I smiled despite the throbbing pain I’m feeling all over my body.I have to say that fighting that beast took me a lot of effort. I could have died.I slumped against the cool stone wall of the ancient ruins, feeling the weight of the battles pressing down on my shoulders. I closed my eyes for a moment, allowing myself to breathe.“What comes next? We defeated the phantom wolf. It means we won in the battle of strength,” I asked Nyx, a hint of exhaustion in my voice. My wolf didn't answer. “Uhmm… I’m not sure.”I opened my eyes, my brows furrowing slightly. She's supposed to guide me, right?Nevermind. I guess, I’ll just figure it out later once I’m done resting.I was about to close my eyes again when I suddenly felt a deep rumble beneath my feet. The ground trembled slightly, and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up like it was sensing an incoming danger.Something is wrong.I pushed mysel
(Migumi’s POV)“Are we going back now?” Nyx asked, acting like she isn't supposed to be the one guiding throughout the process. I can't blame her though. It's been confusing here.I put the artifact inside my bag, glancing around. It's very dark. The only thing giving me light on this place is the faint light of the moon peeking from the broken walls.“Let's go home,” I said, turning around to go back to the cliff when I noticed something. There is no cliff.“It should be here, right?” I whispered to myself, looking around the spot where I last centered. Why is it gone? Is the test not done yet? This can't be happening.Suddenly, a faint voice called me from behind. “Migumi…”I turned to my heels, my hand grabbing the dagger in my pocket. I vigilantly glanced around, listening to the silence. I'm not alone here. Something. Someone is watching me.“Migumi&
(Migumi’s POV)Hearing his voice was like finding light in the darkness.I was just almost at the brink of giving up, but now I feel more empowered than ever.Aiden is right. I’m not alone in this fight. He’s here with me.The oppressive darkness pressed in around me as the dark version of myself continues to mock me with her insulting words. It was like a suffocating weight that sought to crush my spirit, but that didn't stop me from standing tall. Shadows began swirling inside my mind, whispering lies and mockery, amplifying my deepest fears and insecurities. It felt like a pair of hands suffocating me. I didn't know what to do. My dark side loomed before me with eyes glinting with malevolent intent. She looked like a twisted reflection of me."You are nothing," the dark version of myself hissed, her voice cold and cutting. "You’ve always been nothing—unworthy, weak, a burden. How could you ever think you’re strong enough to be a Luna?"My firsts clenched into a tight rock. Her word
(Migumi’s POV)“I’m proud of you,” my wolf said, a hint of pride in her voice. I curled my lips into a smile. She’s talking like we don't share the same body.I stood in the ruins, my chest heaving as the remains of the dark version of myself dissipated into tiny points of light. The oppressive atmosphere that had gripped me from the moment I entered this place has finally lifted, leaving behind a serene calmness that settled deep into my bones.I felt different—stronger, more in tune with the person I was meant to be.For the first time, I truly felt like I knew who I was.I barely had time to catch my breath when the light around me began to shift again. I watched, heart racing, as the scattered points of light started to gather in front of me, forming a shape. It's turning into something… a wolf.My eyes widened in awe as the light solidified into a large, majestic white wolf, its fur glowing with an ethereal radiance. The wolf’s eyes met mine, his eyes deep, golden, and ancient. T
(Migumi’s POV)I walked through the dense, magical forest, alone feeling a mixture of anxiety and excitement. I passed the test of strength—a grueling trial that pushed me to my limits, both physically and mentally.I thought about giving up countless times, but I’m just happy to be able to overcome it.Now, with the challenge behind me, I feel a renewed sense of purpose as I make my way toward the edge of the forest.Having to go through here again just to come home makes me feel sick. I can't imagine all the things I saw in this magical forest that almost stopped me from continuing further. But now, being here, there is something… different. The trees that were once dark and eerie, now seemed to glow with a bright sense of light. The twisted, gnarled branches softened, leaves shimmering in hues of emerald and gold as they swayed gently in the breeze. Even the air feels different—lighter, fragrant with the sce
(Migumi’s POV)I kneel in the soft earth, a piece of cloth spread on the ground. I’m currently picking wild mushrooms from the base of an old oak tree. Their caps are smooth and damp, a deep brown that tells me they’re safe to eat.The fox that slept with me last night was already gone when I woke up this morning. It honestly made me sad. The fox was a great silent companion. It gave me comfort for a short while. But I guess nothing stays forever. I try to push the feeling aside, focusing instead on gathering enough mushrooms to cook. It's already past noon and I haven't eaten anything yet. After gathering enough mushrooms, I went back to my spot to get it cooking. I’m sure that my wolf is famished, too. It’s been a while since we had a proper meal.“Nyx?” I reach out mentally, seeking the familiar presence of my wolf.“I’m here, Migumi,” Nyx’s voice comes through. I smiled, feeling a little better after hearing her speak. “You miss him.”I don’t need to ask who she means. Aiden’s abs
(Migumi’s POV)“You're not helping him, right?” Nyx urged inside my head. I looked at the chaotic scenario in front of me. I can easily tell from here that Anthony is holding all of them captive, forcing them to bow before him.How could he destroy an entire pack like this? He’s so ruthless. I need to stop him!I can feel my wolf, Nyx, stirring within me, her rage and frustration mirroring my own. But deep down, I know that there's a difference. We have our own beliefs. It just so happens that Nyx cannot forgive Alpha Cyrus just yet.“Migumi,” my wolf’s voice is calm, but there’s a sharp edge to it. “I know what you're thinking, and I know I can't stop you. Fine. Let’s get Alpha Cyrus's back. After all, he’s the key to stopping all of this.”My lips curled into a small smile, hearing my wolf’s words. She knows I can't just stand here and do nothing all, while all those people die there.I take a deep breath, forcing myself to stay calm. “Thank you, Nyx. But we can’t just go in there w
(Migumi’s POV)“Are you sure about that?” my wolf asked, her words laced with a mixture of concern and hesitation.I sit close to the flames, carefully tending to the wounds that crisscross my arms and legs. My body aches, but it’s the dull, throbbing pain in my heart that hurts me the most.I stopped momentarily to look at the bonfire I built in this secluded spot.I close my eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath, feeling the warmth of the fire seep into my bones. As I exhale, I hear the soft voice of my wolf again.“You’re quiet tonight,” she says, her tone gentle but probing. “I can tell you’re thinking about him. About Cyrus.”I pause, my hands stilling as I focus inward. Her presence is always a comfort to me. But tonight, her words touch a nerve. She’s right—I’ve been thinking about Cyrus, more than I’d like to admit.“I have to save him,” I murmur, knowing she can hear my thoughts as clearly as if I’d spoken them aloud. “He didn’t deserve to be under that witch’s control. No
