I watched at the disappearing figure of Dianne escaping in the darkness. My instincts screamed at me to chase after Dianne, but I hesitated, my gaze shifting to my unconscious mate.

She lays among the fallen bodies of the werewolf squad members, and Tara's lifeless form lay beside her.
