Xavier

I stood outside the abandoned warehouse, the only sound was the distant hum of the city. It was a chilly night.

"Everyone ready?" I whispered, my eyes scanning the area.

Joseph nodded, his face illuminated by the faint light of his phone. "The buyer is supposed to meet us here."

Lorenzo and Mateo flanked my father, their eyes watchful. Ariana and Camilla sat in the car. Their job was to sit pretty.

Suddenly, a car pulled up. The headlights casted an eerie glow.

Someone alighted then walked toward us.

"Xavier, my friend you actually showed up did you" he said, his voice dripped with sarcasm. "I see you're trying to get rid of what you stole from me in the first place."

I narrowed my eyes. "Arturo. What are you doing here?"

He chuckled. "I'm the buyer, of course. And I'm afraid I'm not here to pay, I need my shit back."

With a flick of his wrist, Arturo's men emerged from the shadows, surrounding us.

"You see, Xavier, I've been looking to expand my operations. I'm sure you

"Because of her."He nodded towards me, and I felt a chill run down my spine. "You've grown soft, Don Xavier," Beto sneered. "You let your feelings for her cloud your judgment."Xavier's expression didn't change, but I saw a flicker of something in his eyes. Anger? Guilt?"You're wrong, Beto," Xavier said, his voice cold. After everything he had done, I wouldn't have thought that the Castellos would even bother. But Xavier's words kept echoing in my mind: "Even if he was a traitor, he was still family." It was a strange sense of loyalty, one that I didn't fully understand. We drove to the chapel in silence, the only sound the hum of the engine and the soft rustle of the wind through the trees. Xavier As we pulled into the driveway, I could see my father, Joseph, pacing back and forth outside the house. His face was etched with worry and fear, and he rushed over to the car as soon as we stopped."Xavier, oh my god, what happened?" he exclaimed, helping me out of the car. I winced in pain as he touched my injured arm."I was ambushed at the market," I explained, trying to keep my voice steady. "Arturo's men were waiting for me."Joseph's face darkened with anger. "This is unacceptable," he growled. "There's another traitor, I'm certain of it. Someone who told Arturo where you'd be."I felt a pang of guilt, knowing that Ariana was the one who had handed Arturo the evidence he needed. But I couldn't bring myself to rat her out, not yet. Maybe it was because I still didn't want to believe that she had betrayed me."I don't know, Father," I said, trying to sound convincing. "I'll look into it, see if I can find out who was behind the ambush."Joseph's eyes narrowed, but he didn'

Ariana It had been almost a week since Xavier had last spoken to me. He had been ignoring me, and I couldn't blame him. I had hurt him deeply, and I didn't know how to make it right. The silence was oppressive, weighing heavily on my conscience. I had tried to apologize, to explain why I had done what I did, but Xavier had just turned away, his eyes cold and hard.I felt lost and alone, unsure of how to bridge the gap between us. I had grown accustomed to Xavier's presence, his fierce protection and possessiveness. Without it, I felt adrift, vulnerable. As the days turned into a week, I began to wonder if Xavier would ever forgive me. Or if I would be trapped in this limbo forever, unable to escape the consequences of my actions.I couldn't bear the thought of locking myself up in my room in the main house, not when Xavier was avoiding me. So, I made my way to Camilla's quarters, seeking the comfort of her warm and loving presence.I'd been spending a lot of time with Camilla lately,

Ariana The air outside was different. I stood at the train station, clutching my suitcase and staring at the departure board. My heart skipped a beat as I confirmed the schedule. Today was my 20th birthday, and I had a surprise for Mom and Dad. I stepped off the plane at JFK Airport, my heart racing with excitement. Over ten years had passed since I'd last seen my parents. I'd wondered why they sent me away to boarding school in Switzerland. The memories of our life together were fuzzy, like a watercolor painting left out in the rain. I remembered the day Mom and Dad sent me away to boarding school in Switzerland like it was yesterday. "It's for your own safety, sweetie. You'll have the best education and care," was the only thing mum said. Daddy on the other hand had a stone cold expression, "We'll visit soon, Ariana. Promise." They never did. Life abroad was a mix of loneliness and routine. I excelled academically, but friendships were fleeting. Letters from Mom and Dad we

Xavier “Everything is ready, sir. Should I take care of it? Or do you--” I shot my head up at the direction of my underboss, Enzo. “No, I want to have some fun with this one, Enzo. My face should be the last thing that he sees.” Those words hurt me to say, but I have to exert my dominance. Being weak is not an option. No one crosses Xavier Castello and gets away with it. Honor and loyalty are two words we hold dear in Cosa Nostra. I can tolerate just about anything, but betrayal is definitely not one of them. If I let go of everyone who crossed me because of sentiments, I would be a dead man. I didn't get my title as don from being a weak little bitch. “Let's go!” I ordered, getting up from my swivel chair and shutting the door to my study. Our convoy moved with speed and stopped right outside the estate of one of my father's most trusted men, Benicio Morales. I walked into his room where he and his wife Beatrice, were sleeping soundly. How could the damn bastard sleep afte

XavierI pace the cold, grey interrogation room, my mind racing. I check my watch and realize that it has only been twenty minutes. Twenty minutes which feel like an eternity. Finally, the door opened.A figure enters, dressed in a sharp suit."Camilla?""Don't worry. I'm here."I exhale, relief washing over me. "How did you...?""Joseph called me," she explains. "He wants me to represent you. You know, because--"I nod, cutting her off. Even if her father did some despicable things, he was still her father. I couldn't even imagine what she was going through. Camilla's expertise in high-profile cases is unmatched. She practiced for a while, but her father always seemed to need her back home every now and then. It wasn't obvious, what he was doing. But after a while, I became suspicious. But Camilla never said anything. She always tried to be happy, no matter what. "Mr. Castello," she says then clears her throat. She subtely surveys the room, searching for recording devices of any k

XavierBefore Joseph can say anything, I tell Mateo to take Ariana back to the house right away. I just had to make sure she was okay after what had just happened.Mateo nodded and quickly walked over to Ariana, then escorted her away. The next order of business was to get Joseph far away from her. At this point he was the only danger she had to worry about. Joseph looked furious, but he knew better than to argue with me, so he just turned and walked towards the cars. We were both cut from the same cloth. I was a younger version of him. He raised me never to take no for an answer, so I wasn't going to stand her and watch him insult me in my own house. Not in front of my men. We got into the car and drove away. The security team followed directly behind us in other vehicles. My father always used official cars when ever he was in the country. They gathered less attention and were government affiliated so no one over bothered to pull the cars over. I didn't say anything, just kept
