I Love Blake

Blake thought of the first time he saw Evelyn. He watched her remove her cloth and never had he seen anyone that beautiful. He knew she really deserved the title jewel of the pack. Slowly she warmed up to his heart. He never loved the idea of a mate because he was not strong enough to protect his mate, but with her, he kept wishing she was his mate. He always sees the sparkles in her eyes when she saw him, the same sparkles that reflect his. He smiled as his mind kept thinking of Evelyn even when he was surrounded by Rogues. Though he didn't sense them on time, he sensed it long enough for Evelyn to leave because she was. They would have both been able to escape if he was fast but if he tried to escape with Evelyn he would only drag her down and they would both be caught. Since he didn't want to slow her down he made her leave for it was the only way to protect her.

"I kissed her and I will happily die if that's all I get in life." He touched his lips and the tingling sensation was fresh. He wondered how she would have reacted if the situation was different. If they weren't any danger lurking around and they were in the stream just like every other day and he kissed her. Would she slap her or would it destroy their friendship? He sighed as he realized that none of it mattered and he would never be able to get the answer to it.

"I wonder what a latent is doing here," One of the Rogue said and Blake wondered how he was able to sense him. He was looking dirty just like every other rogue with him, he had a hard face, the type that one would always remember even if you saw him only once in your life. His hair and beard made him appear like he had a mane which made him appear like a lion.

"And where is the wolf girl I sensed." It shocked Blake, he was sure that no ordinary wolf would have been able to sense Evelyn from that distance. And it was more shocking for him to know it was a girl, Blake pride himself as the one with the best sensing ability but seeing the man in front of him made him realize he was mistaken. 

"Don't bother looking around, she is long gone" There are more than 20, rogues hardly move in such numbers. Blake could feel that the man in front of him is very bad and he is also their leader, sort of like an Alpha. 

"Are you sure?" he asked with a sinister smile and Blake picked Evelyn's scent before he could even argue. Though it was just a few seconds interval, Blake was able to figure out the difference in their sensing ability, the man in front of him was far better than him. she was coming back, and she was coming really fast, faster than when she left. 

"What's wrong with her?" Blake muttered 

"Looks like she loves you." The stranger came closer to Blake's face and smirked. He tried to claw him, as a LATENT he could extract his claws but could never turn to a wolf. The Stranger easily caught his arms and scoffed.

 "Pathetic." He said and yanked him away. The pain traveled all Blake's body as he slammed against a tree. Some cracking could be heard and Blake whimpered as his ribs got broken

"Know your place LATENT." He held him by the neck and dragged him up choking him in the process. Blake's eyes felt heavy and he could feel his soul leaving his body and he prayed that Evelyn would at least be safe from all these.

"Get your hands off him." He heard her voice and it brought him back to life

"Aaah, she comes." Said the man as he dropped Blake who couldn't stop himself from coughing. Evelyn rushed to Blake's side and helped him up.

"Are you ok?" she asked and Blake just nodded still coughing

"Why are you back?" Blake cursed himself for being powerless. He just wanted to drag her behind him and protect her, but he knew it wouldn't matter. The man could cut him in half with a wave of his claws

"I already sent a link message to Alpha, he will soon be here." Her words gave Blake a sense of hope and he figured the best thing to do was to stall for time, even if he had to fight against them. 

"I know she already called for help, so you are planning on stalling." He smirked "it will do you guys no good, the only way to save yourselves is if she comes with me," he said and they stared at each other. Never did they think of such a situation.

"Over my dead body" Evelyn barked.

"Make that the two of us." 

"You are beautiful, what a price it will be if I have you. I know he is not your mate, what you guys think you feel for each other is just a child's play" he said walking closer to them, his other members were busy looking around, they never let their guard down. 

"Then if you take her, what happens when her mate appears?" Asked Blake. He ignores the pain he felt when the rogue said he wasn't Evelyn's mate. The man just shrugged and answered

"Kill him of course." He said simply like it is just a normal thing, Evelyn gasped. I need to keep her away from this man, Blake thought to himself. But before he could do anything, the man dragged her up, and she tried to free herself but couldn't. 

"Leave her alone" Blake rushed and the Man kicked him away and once again the pain went all over his body. He could feel himself losing consciousness. Two rogues dragged him up

"Are you trying to be the hero?" He punched him repeatedly, apart from the pain the only thing he could hear was Evelyn's voice crying, struggling to come to him. She was held down by two rogues. Even in the pain, Blake felt happy they were not hurting her, he knew very soon the pack would arrive. He was happy their whole attention was on him. All he needed to do was stay alive long enough for the pack members to arrive. 

"Leave him alone or I kill myself." They heard Evelyn say. Blake looked up with his already swollen eyes. She was able to break free from the person holding her, she was with the person's knife and it was directed to her neck. Blake was so weak he couldn't move.

"Don't play with that, pretty." The man turned to her, the rogues holding Blake dropped him and he fell to the ground "that knife is laced with wolfsbane it will surely kill you." Wolfsbane is lethal to wolves. Why would a wolf have such a weapon, Blake wondered.

"So, you mean any injury inflicted with it will be scarred for life." She asked. She had heard that only a very powerful Alpha can completely heal from a wolfsbane injury. 

"Yes" he answered, and Evelyn next action surprised them all. She sliced her face, she dragged the knife from the right side of her forehead down to her left cheek, leaving a deep wound. 

"What have you done?!" The man barked

"The beauty that will make me useful to you, I just destroyed it." She said and fall to the ground as the wolfsbane is already poisoning her. Blake mustered the last of his strength and rushed towards her. 

"Please stay with me." He tried to keep her awake

"I hope you will still find me beautiful after this." She smiled and Blake nodded. He had no problem with her looks as long as she stayed alive. 

"Come on let's go, the pack will soon be here" the man ordered his rogue. Blake kept crying trying to keep Evelyn awake as the rogue left the scene. 

"I love you, Blake," she said and lost consciousness 

"I love you too" Blake replied even though she didn't hear him.
