Eleanor lay like a starfish on the forest floor. It had been three days. Three whole days of training with Anthony and she had only just gotten some reprieve by throwing him off. Who knew emotions were so much work, even when brought into physical display? Turning back against him the emotional energy he got from her was a real strainer.
"One more round, stand up."Anthony said and went to pull her up. Eleanor groaned and muscled herself up.Three hours later....
Anna left Eleanor in the bathroom and rushed out to get a kit. Eleanor pressed a hand against her stomach and took in laboured breaths. During training, while they were working on the force of anger, as she'd tried sending it back, she'd left one of her emotions unprotected and Anthony, being the emotion hog that he was, saw it and even while he was sent flying over a distance, shot something right back at her. Her fear. She was scared of so much. Who knew fear packed such a heavy punch? She looked d
Morning came quickly and the first thing Andreas did was to check in with Kolan. After being reassured that she was asleep, he cleaned up and went to Anthony, leaving Anna with Eleanor. Eleanor awoke but didn't move. She was still in wherever she was last night. She hadn't left. They were coming. They were coming for her. They would always come to snatch up whatever happiness she had. They would kill someone and leave it on her conscience. Someone was going to die... Because of her.... Unless she did something about it. Tell them? Does she tell them? If they know, they still wouldn't be able to kill her and yes, their attacks would become a lot more vicious and frequent but then again, it would save a life.... Or would it? Thinking back to everything she had ever heard and seen, read and felt about Faceless voice, he was mercilessly destructive. He didn't care who was or what was. All he knew was destruction and call her psycho, but she cackled. Kolan's eyes were on her but
As days went by, Eleanor threw herself into training as she moved on with Alexandra. Alexandra's own sector was combat. Physical combat. After finding out that the shield she was able to use against Anthony could also be used to block off her fire, she went into sparring with Alexandra and Alexandra was actually good at it.... Very good at it. And professional. No snide comments, no verbal bites, no sarcastic replies, not even eye rolls and not once did she try to use her extraordinary strength to hurt Eleanor. It was almost like they were cool now. Eleanor would run in the morning, as per Alexandra's request, then after that, they would get to fighting, with Leo, Nick, Anthony, Andreas, and even Anna giving out tips and warnings from the side lines. Eleanor hadn't spoken of her trauma anymore. It was like nothing even happened and Andreas was worried, but he made sure to keep his watchful eyes on her at a distance. After two weeks of continuous training, Eleanor began to notice the
After taking the herbal tea, her menstrual flow had darkened. When she'd told Anna, Anna had beamed and exhaled in relief. Apparently, the poison was finally leaving her system.Eleanor spent her five down days talking to her parents, her sister and just basically resting. Andreas had been a real rock, throughout. She'd spoken with Liam three times before he suddenly stopped picking up or responding to her texts. He was probably too busy with work and stuff. Yeah. That was it. No need to worry. As soon as she stepped out of the room and Anthony smelt no blood, he engulfed her in a big hug and ran off with her. After giving him an earful, she had to hike her way back to the house, as Anthony had taken them into the forest. All Andreas did was watch with a raised brow. Sunday came and went. Her anxiety was building. She really wanted to go to the lab.On Monday morning, after having breakfast and talking about what they were going to look out for, they left for the l
Dizziness assailed her. A fowl smell was let loose and it weighed heavily on her senses. She fought the urge to just lay there, and drew her eyes open. Familiarity... The familiarity of the room hit her and greeted her, even as she lay on floor. Why... Why would he bring her here? Her heart began to race as a certain dark feeling coiled within her. Bracing herself, she rolled over and was trying to stagger into a standing position when under the bed, she saw a small piece of something. It held the smell that coated the room. Pulling herself up, she saw little pieces of it everywhere. It was everywhere. She knew this place.... She had been here before! No.... No... Ignoring the thickness of blood on the floor, she began to walk towards the bed. She walked, begging for it not to be so. She took unsteady step after unsteady step, feeling the shake of her shoulders. Upon reaching the top of the bed, she saw brown hair. Gripping the sheets, she yanked them off and froze. On the bed
Hours turned to days. Andreas would go to the door multiple times everyday, and just talk, hoping that Eleanor would feel good enough to open the door, but it simply didn't happened. He'd gone around the house but she'd erected thick vines around the windows to block out sunlight and prying eyes. She hadn't eaten at thing but what worried him more, was that she hadn't spoken a word, not even mentally. The only thing that kept him going was the sound of her heartbeat that he could hear, thanks to his abilities. Sometimes, it would go faint but still, it was there. On the fourth day, he had began to think of breaking the door open ,when Anna came over and wanted to give it a try. After cajoling Andreas into leaving the house, she went to the shut door and began to talk. She stayed there for so long, she began to doze off on the floor. It was exactly 5:34pm, when she heard a click that snapped her out of her slumber. What was that? It sounded like a.... A door. Ri
"I... I don't know what to say.... Is that why Andreas... Disliked you?"Anna chuckled, "Don't butter it up, he hated me. He hated me so much. Heartbreak killed his mom, selfishness corrupted his dad and the only other man who showed him love? The venom of a vampire took him. For a long time, he thought I was still angry about being banished by my brother, I decided to punish his son.""I see he likes you now.""Yes. Only when he was bitten by a vampire did he finally realize that for you, the child prophesied about, to be the one to heal him, more so with the stone, there really was no other cure. Seeing how you basically died after that, he accepted it. That's the only reason he let me watch over you. Takes him to die to realize something? You have a real boulder on your hands." Anna joked.Eleanor was still reeling from it."I feel very bad for him, though." Anna suddenly said."Why?""All those years of hate... At the end, he found that all the
Eleanor spent the next three days in bed, eating, eating, eating, and when the sun went down, she went to bed and woke up the next morning to pray, then eat again. It was all she was good for. To swallow food like the days and nights were running out. When she protested, Anna would give her the stink eye and feed her more, only stopping when she was satisfied. According to her, she had to "gain that weight back."When she'd told Anna that the weight couldn't be gotten back in one go, Anna had respond with,"I know. That's why you will get it back in many go's."Eleanor felt like a ball. Only when she tried on her clothes and they were still loose on her did she finally sigh and let Anna feed her. For those three days, she hadn't seen Andreas. She had seen Nick, Anthony, Leo and even Alexandra, but not Andreas. No calls from him, no texts, not even mental messages. Nothing. Looking out the window, she saw that the sun was beginning to set.Looking to t
Andreas awoke the next morning to a weight across his back and something going through his hair. Casting his eyes downward, he saw a folded thigh. Sighing, he flipped over to find Eleanor, fingers deep in his hair, sitting astride him."What are you doing?" His rough morning voice coming through."Checking for bald spots," she said in a small voice, raising a hand to her cheek and looking away. Her guilt confused him. "Yesterday, when I... Uh... Gr..grabbed your-" she pointed, "-your hair..." and trailed off."Did you find any?"Her eyes rose to his, "Hm?""Bald spots, did you find any?"She hurriedly shook her head. "None. I'm sorry."Her humble look came across as very cute to him. It was rather endearing with her in her cartooned nightie. He watched her as she watched him. They both observed each other, thinking things about one another. Giving into temptation, Eleanor rose a hand and threw him a rather wary look as she moved it toward his
