Eleanor Bella Starr is Black and You magazine's lead writer. After being threatened by her egocentric boss to either get something interesting enough to wow him, or take a tumble in his sheets, Eleanor hightails it to Orlando, Lake Creek. Lake Creek, home of the internet's weirdest stories. DESCRIPTION: STAY OUT! SAVE YOURSELF! How do you keep a writer away from that? Moreso, one as inquisitive as Eleanor. The mysteries begin the minute she arrives. The deeper she goes, the loopier it becomes. She is in a world of madness of the mind, death and bloodshed. She brought herself in.... But she can't get out. She hears things she can't fathom, sees things that are mind boggling and becomes something that definitely wasn't in her plans. Plans? There are no plans anymore. Plans can't exist in a world like this. Kill or be killed. Will the hunter become the hunted? Or will the hunter laugh last? Strangely enough, love blooms. She falls right into Andreas. Literally. Ever heard of the term, soul mates? How do you realize someone is yours, only after his mouth has been assaulted by someone else's, in your presence? In what world is that fair?!

Although this app drives me insane with the amount of money I spend on books, this book was well worth it! I loved the story line, the characters and I’m impatiently waiting to see if another book comes of this!!!

Eleanor yawned stretched and sat up in bed. Oh yes! Sweet sweet sleep. She looked to her bedside alarm clock, turned to yawn again and froze mid yawn. She slowly turned back to her clock. 10:54am. Oh no! No no no no no. How? She set the time to-"You're finally awake" Anna, her 16 year old sister slid open her door poked her head in"Anna, I.... Wait! Did you sneak into my room this morning?"Anna blinked in feigned innocence "Well.... Come down for breakfast!" and ran off"Ugh! Anna!" Eleanor ran for the bathroom. She was gonna be late! Her flight was by 12:00pm. She had been staying at her family's house for three days already because her place was further from the airport. Sweet fudge, she couldn't miss her flight! She quickly brushed her teeth and ran in for a bath. While she bathed, she couldn't help but think about the dream she'd had earlier. The same dream, over and over again, for three days straight. She'd finalized her trip to Oregon three days ago and

Two hours and forty five minutes later, she landed in Orlando's airport. She looked around with a bright smile on her face as she took in the people and children. She felt a step closer to accomplishment. Yes, she felt anxious and excited.... Definitely more excited than anxious, but nothing was in her way. Sure her rubber band had broken in the plane and her hair had come down long and heavy and was Currently trying to blind her, nothing else, was in her way. With a bounce in her step, She got her bag and walked out of the airport. It really was a great sight. The fresh air, sun high in the sky, the smell of something hot.... Was that lasagna?!? Her mouth watered. Ugh! No Eleanor. You can't eat now.... Wait, Why not? It was like a normal lunch break, right? Besides, she didn't get to eat breakfast. She crossed over and went into Marcello's restaurant. The aroma flirted with her senses."Hello, fine Lady." A Chef wearing a chef's apparel greeted her. She smiled."Hello, Si

Eleanor yawned and rubbed her eyes. She had fallen asleep. She looked to her wrist watch and it was 6:27pm. She'd been in the cab with Carl for over an hour, which was a lot longer than she'd thought she was going to be in a cab for. She inhaled, exhaled and looked to the rearview mirror, hoping to send a smile to Carl but his eyes were focused on the road... Sheesh... Antisocial much? Speaking of road, where the flipping stones were they? She scooted over to be closer to the window and looked outside. All she saw was.... A jungle. Bright green, yellow, faded brown and all bunch of colours made up the vegetation."Woah" she gazed at everything in awe. Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. The scenery was picture worthy. Vast untamed nature, all around her. She looked back to Carl"This forest... It leads to Lake Creek? I'm surprised there is a cleared path to drive-" she was thrown back into her seat as the car came to an abrupt stop. "Oof! A warning would have been n

That voice. The way her body went still in shock, with her heart fighting to break clean out of her body, only one voice was able to do that to her. She listened intently with her eyes closed and allowed herself to sigh out in relief when she heard nothing at all. It was probably all in her head... Or a dream again. She subtly pinched herself. Pain. She felt pain. It wasn't a dream. Okay.... Okay then. Not a dream. She let her body unfurl and slowly took air in. She gripped the handle of her suitcase and, after giving her over active imagination a Stern talking-to, took a step."Humans. How amusing"She gasped and a cold sweat broke out all over her naked skin. No"Remember me, sweetheart?"No"How do you say it, has a cat got your tongue?"She gripped her head and breathed hard "Stop" she whispered"What are we stopping, dear?""No. Stop it, Eleanor. Stop it""A very pretty name"She gripped her head harder. Her temples cried out in

He stood at the base of the bed, observing the Olive skin coloured, black haired beauty who still hadn't regained consciousness after 4 days. He had decided to take a walk when he'd seen her. The one time he decides to walk outside the forest, he comes back with an unconscious lady. Why did he have to come back with her? He didn't actually but he wanted to. He could have ignored it. Could have ignored that smell but.... He just couldn't. She smelt of two things and those things were what attracted him. The first smell was pungent.... Like ashes, hell's heat and gut, and there was only one species that produced such smell and even at that, only a select number of them. The second smell was faded but he caught it. It was something he'd only ever heard of, described by some, but he'd never smelt it himself.... Never seen him, himself..... Forest, salty water and decomposing flesh. Judging by the wounds on her, she'd been through a lot but the question was, how was she alive? WHY w

Eleanor hobbled over to the bathroom and her mouth dropped open in shock. Not what she was expecting. She hobbled back into the room to examine it. She hadn't actually looked at it before but now, it was beautiful. Huge king sized bed in the middle with little tables and lamps around it, a black comforter draped over it and a plush material around the massive head board. A huge set of spacious wardrobes took up the right side of the room and on the left side, a wide smooth oak table took up residence beside the window and the window! With a lovely white window-sill, it was huge, with the bottom of the window sitting just a few feet away from the ground, barely reaching her waist, providing a vast view of the forest. Wow! Some drawers at the other end of the room opposite the bed and a few chairs around the room, completed a very nice looking room with the main colours being black, white and the occasional brown and dark blue. Very lovely! In the middle of nowhere! She hobbled back t

"Did I really smell that bad?"He nodded."Well..... Maybe it's because I ran""No.""What?""It's not because you ran.""And how would you know that?""How did you get here?""Do your emotions determine the colour of your eyes?"He exhaled in annoyance and she blinked up sweetly at him. "Yes.""You don't have a lot of friends, do you?""How did you get here?""How or why?""Eleanor." He warned"You aren't clear with your questions." She hopped off the chair and began to limp around the kitchen"Walk me through everything about you being here."She picked up a tomato and bit into it. He rose a brow at her and she smiled "Sorry. Bad habit. Okay," she sat. "I came here because of work-" all amusement left his face and his eyes resumed their sharp green colour"What work?""I'm a writer for a magazine in New York called Black and You and my job was on the line so I came here.""I'm Sorry, Bla

"Are houses like this scattered all over the woods? This is amazing!" Eleanor stated, in awe of the house in front of her. It was a beautiful bungalow with the roof painted a lovely brick red, the walls painted white and the window trimmings, mud brown. It was huge! In the middle of nowhere! Andreas walked them up the porch steps, gently placed her down in front of the door and pressed a small white button right beside it. Eleanor's brows rose. She definitely hadn't seen that. A small rectangular set up protruded out of the wall and he rose the covering. A small screen, key pad and finger print scanner presented itself. Her eyes widened. Andreas pushed a few buttons and a double beeping sound was heard. He took Eleanor's hand, placed her thumb on the scanner, a few moments later, it double beeped and the keypad and screen retreated, leaving only the scanner. It beeped again and the door came open. Andreas watched Eleanor eyes dart from him, to the scanner, to the door, repeat cycle.

Eleanor had refused to tell Andreas about her dream, no matter how much he'd asked. She just refused. Did she have a reason? Not really, but why didn't she tell him? No reason either she just..... didn't."I want to go to a library. My map showed that there's one not too far from here. Take me, please?"He observed her for a while, then sighed and nodded, then went to take a bath. After a while of waiting, she rose a brow when he finally appeared.... Mystery man knew how to dress. Black jeans, a deep navy blue coloured T-shirt that looked painted on over those muscles... He must be a devotee of the gym, a brown leather jacket and a pair of black combat boots. He had his hair up in a man bun and she stared at his beautifully carved face as he focused on fastening a watch onto his wrist."Stop staring." He casually stated and walked for the door. She followed and had to swallow when she caught a whiff of him. He was HOT! What kind genes did he have?! Probably not even Z
