Two hours and forty five minutes later, she landed in Orlando's airport. She looked around with a bright smile on her face as she took in the people and children. She felt a step closer to accomplishment. Yes, she felt anxious and excited.... Definitely more excited than anxious, but nothing was in her way. Sure her rubber band had broken in the plane and her hair had come down long and heavy and was Currently trying to blind her, nothing else, was in her way. With a bounce in her step, She got her bag and walked out of the airport. It really was a great sight. The fresh air, sun high in the sky, the smell of something hot.... Was that lasagna?!? Her mouth watered. Ugh! No Eleanor. You can't eat now.... Wait, Why not? It was like a normal lunch break, right? Besides, she didn't get to eat breakfast. She crossed over and went into Marcello's restaurant. The aroma flirted with her senses.
"Hello, fine Lady." A Chef wearing a chef's apparel greeted her. She smiled."Hello, Sir" He looked fatherly with his round body, cute smile and bouyant aura. "Can I get a table?""Right this way". She was led to a table right by the window. Small and cute. She sat and looked up at the man"My name is Marcello Andrea. Today is Lasagna Tuesday. Would you like that? Or, some chilled lemonade to start off with? We also serve salad ""Oh the lasagna please. I smelled it from outside and I couldn't control myself"Marcello laughed loudly "A beautiful lady that can eat! Of course, my dear!" He said and left. Eleanor took that time to look around the restaurant. It wasn't too big but wasn't small either with a very very homey and warm feeling to it. The people already eating there all had smiles or a relaxed look on their faces. She also really liked that the owner of the restaurant cooked and interacted with his customers."Here we are" Marcello spoke as he returned with a plate of blazing hot lasagna, that emitted the most alluring aroma, she dug right in. Her taste buds exploded and she moaned in bliss"You like it, I'm guessing?"She grabbed his chubby hand "Please Marcello, you have to give me the recipe"Marcello laughed and pat her hand with his other one "We'll see about that if you come back again, miss""Oh please, we're future recipe buddies now. My name is Eleanor. Eleanor Bella Starr""Bella? Any Latina heritage?"She smiled cutely "My mom's Italian""Aha! With your hair, skin color and beauty, I knew there was something to you! Wait here while I get you a drink" and Marcello was off. He came back with some grape juice and a plate of Trofie Al pesto with pasta twists"I just made this. Taste it and tell me what you think""Oh, Marcello, no. I'm just a customer-""Nonsense, Eleanor! Future recipe buddies. Now eat."Ella smiled and took a spoonful. Her groan was deep from within her soul "Dios! È cosi incrédible!"Marcello Smiled "Would you call it the best you've ever had?""Honestly, it almost is. You need to meet my mamma. You'll love her!" She dug in with gusto while Marcello sat with her and they laughed and talked for a long while."Marcel! Please, my ribs hurt. Don't make me laugh anymore" Ella said while tears fell from her eyes. She'd laughed herself sore. "I feel bad for stealing you from your other customers""Nonsense! They have all been attended to by my staff and i love your company!""I love your company and food!"Marcello laughed "Dolce ragazza." He pat her cheek. He was like her own grandfather. She took a look at her phone. 4:44pm. She exhaled"I have to go now, Marcel. I'm sorry I can't stay longer""It's fine. As long as you come back again?""You bet! Thank you" she got up and hugged him "how much do I owe?""You made me laugh so hard. That's payment enough. Leave it""What? No. Marcel, I have to. This was such a wonderful experience. Let me pay with my flimsy money" she pouted."Silly girl." He pushed her out "Come again, Eleanor" and pressed a kiss to both her cheeks. She exhaled as guilt formed. "Marc-""I see you're stubborn" he narrowed his eyes at herShe smiled cheekily "That's why you love me"He Chuckled "How about you make me something nice the next time you're coming?"She nodded "Deal!" Shook his hand, picked up her bag and waved to him as she crossed the road to take a cab. She realized that she had not asked Marcello about the way to.... Anywhere at all! Surely, she could find her way with a cab. She called one up and she bent when he wound down"Hello sir" she pulled her hair out of the way "I'm going to Lake Creek"She watched his eyes widen as he began to mumble something in... Was that fear? She heard a mumbled ".... doom" before he wound up his window and zoomed off. She stood back quickly in shock. Doom? What was that?! She managed to get another cab and also bent as he wound down"Hello, miss. Where to?""Hello sir, Lake Creek please"The man stared at her for a while before bursting into laughter. She frowned, not getting what the laughter was about."Nice one. Really miss, where to?"Now she was irritated "Lake Creek"He kept looking, then something clicked and a look of bewilderment and horror crossed his face"You're serious?"She exhaled and nodded "Yes. Can you ta-"He took off faster than you could say bolt! She frowned, half in anger, half in curiosity. What was wrong with the taxi drivers? If they couldn't go, why not just say so Instead of trying to feed her feet to their Tyres?! Something wasn't right... Which was exactly why she was here. She nodded to herself in determination and decided to walk down the road a bit. She got to the junction and stood"Hey beautiful. Looking for me?" She heard from behind her and turned. By the side of the wall, she found a group of men, casually leaning against the wall, smoking and currently oogling her. Okay... Not weird at all"Uhm... No, but can you please help me?"The one who seemed to be their leader, stepped up "Anything you want"She took a step back when he came closer and chuckled in anxiety "Okay. I need to get to Lake Creek. Know anywhere I can get a cab?"He backed up and regarded her with skeptical eyes "Why?"She blinked, not expecting that question "Personal reasons""Do you have a death wish""Excuse me?""Look sweetie, you're very beautiful, which is why I'll tell you this. Go home"She got curious "Why is everyone scared of the place?"He got even closer "Don't wait to find out. Leave. Boys!" He called and they all left after giving her weird looks. Eleanor bit her lip... Huh.... It bothered her but it was all too..... Interesting. Just as she was about to walk, a hand gripped her shoulder. She screamed and spun around where her eyes met bloodshot eyes! She stumbled back. A tall, scrawny looking, crazy haired man with, weird enough, nice looking clothes, faced her."Hello" his voice was deep and dry. Eyes very red and wide. No smile or emotion shown, whatsoever"Uh, wh- hi. Hello" she stuttered, trying to get her racing heart to calm down."You going to Lake Creek?"She nodded "Yes. Yes, I am"He stretched forth his hand and her heart rate picked up again. His hands had almost no skin. She could see his veins and bones. His finger nails and tips were rimmed with black, like he had dug the ground with his bare hands."I'll take you. Give me your bag"She looked from his hand to his face that made her heart race... Not in a good way, and back to his hand. Did she really have a choice? He was the only one willing. He even approached her. Others took off and she really had to go there. Mind made up, she inhaled and gave him her bag while asking "You got a cab?"He nodded and took her bag and she could swear she heard his fingers crack while he closed them around her bag handle. He only nodded and turned to walk down the road. After a while, he stopped, looked at her over his shoulder and said "I'm Carl" and kept walking. She inhaled shakily and nodded"I'm Eleanor". He didn't respond. After thirty seconds of walking, they stopped in front of a green cab and they got in, no more words were spoken as he placed her bag on the back seat and drove off.Eleanor yawned and rubbed her eyes. She had fallen asleep. She looked to her wrist watch and it was 6:27pm. She'd been in the cab with Carl for over an hour, which was a lot longer than she'd thought she was going to be in a cab for. She inhaled, exhaled and looked to the rearview mirror, hoping to send a smile to Carl but his eyes were focused on the road... Sheesh... Antisocial much? Speaking of road, where the flipping stones were they? She scooted over to be closer to the window and looked outside. All she saw was.... A jungle. Bright green, yellow, faded brown and all bunch of colours made up the vegetation."Woah" she gazed at everything in awe. Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. The scenery was picture worthy. Vast untamed nature, all around her. She looked back to Carl"This forest... It leads to Lake Creek? I'm surprised there is a cleared path to drive-" she was thrown back into her seat as the car came to an abrupt stop. "Oof! A warning would have been n
That voice. The way her body went still in shock, with her heart fighting to break clean out of her body, only one voice was able to do that to her. She listened intently with her eyes closed and allowed herself to sigh out in relief when she heard nothing at all. It was probably all in her head... Or a dream again. She subtly pinched herself. Pain. She felt pain. It wasn't a dream. Okay.... Okay then. Not a dream. She let her body unfurl and slowly took air in. She gripped the handle of her suitcase and, after giving her over active imagination a Stern talking-to, took a step."Humans. How amusing"She gasped and a cold sweat broke out all over her naked skin. No"Remember me, sweetheart?"No"How do you say it, has a cat got your tongue?"She gripped her head and breathed hard "Stop" she whispered"What are we stopping, dear?""No. Stop it, Eleanor. Stop it""A very pretty name"She gripped her head harder. Her temples cried out in
He stood at the base of the bed, observing the Olive skin coloured, black haired beauty who still hadn't regained consciousness after 4 days. He had decided to take a walk when he'd seen her. The one time he decides to walk outside the forest, he comes back with an unconscious lady. Why did he have to come back with her? He didn't actually but he wanted to. He could have ignored it. Could have ignored that smell but.... He just couldn't. She smelt of two things and those things were what attracted him. The first smell was pungent.... Like ashes, hell's heat and gut, and there was only one species that produced such smell and even at that, only a select number of them. The second smell was faded but he caught it. It was something he'd only ever heard of, described by some, but he'd never smelt it himself.... Never seen him, himself..... Forest, salty water and decomposing flesh. Judging by the wounds on her, she'd been through a lot but the question was, how was she alive? WHY w
Eleanor hobbled over to the bathroom and her mouth dropped open in shock. Not what she was expecting. She hobbled back into the room to examine it. She hadn't actually looked at it before but now, it was beautiful. Huge king sized bed in the middle with little tables and lamps around it, a black comforter draped over it and a plush material around the massive head board. A huge set of spacious wardrobes took up the right side of the room and on the left side, a wide smooth oak table took up residence beside the window and the window! With a lovely white window-sill, it was huge, with the bottom of the window sitting just a few feet away from the ground, barely reaching her waist, providing a vast view of the forest. Wow! Some drawers at the other end of the room opposite the bed and a few chairs around the room, completed a very nice looking room with the main colours being black, white and the occasional brown and dark blue. Very lovely! In the middle of nowhere! She hobbled back t
"Did I really smell that bad?"He nodded."Well..... Maybe it's because I ran""No.""What?""It's not because you ran.""And how would you know that?""How did you get here?""Do your emotions determine the colour of your eyes?"He exhaled in annoyance and she blinked up sweetly at him. "Yes.""You don't have a lot of friends, do you?""How did you get here?""How or why?""Eleanor." He warned"You aren't clear with your questions." She hopped off the chair and began to limp around the kitchen"Walk me through everything about you being here."She picked up a tomato and bit into it. He rose a brow at her and she smiled "Sorry. Bad habit. Okay," she sat. "I came here because of work-" all amusement left his face and his eyes resumed their sharp green colour"What work?""I'm a writer for a magazine in New York called Black and You and my job was on the line so I came here.""I'm Sorry, Bla
"Are houses like this scattered all over the woods? This is amazing!" Eleanor stated, in awe of the house in front of her. It was a beautiful bungalow with the roof painted a lovely brick red, the walls painted white and the window trimmings, mud brown. It was huge! In the middle of nowhere! Andreas walked them up the porch steps, gently placed her down in front of the door and pressed a small white button right beside it. Eleanor's brows rose. She definitely hadn't seen that. A small rectangular set up protruded out of the wall and he rose the covering. A small screen, key pad and finger print scanner presented itself. Her eyes widened. Andreas pushed a few buttons and a double beeping sound was heard. He took Eleanor's hand, placed her thumb on the scanner, a few moments later, it double beeped and the keypad and screen retreated, leaving only the scanner. It beeped again and the door came open. Andreas watched Eleanor eyes dart from him, to the scanner, to the door, repeat cycle.
Eleanor had refused to tell Andreas about her dream, no matter how much he'd asked. She just refused. Did she have a reason? Not really, but why didn't she tell him? No reason either she just..... didn't."I want to go to a library. My map showed that there's one not too far from here. Take me, please?"He observed her for a while, then sighed and nodded, then went to take a bath. After a while of waiting, she rose a brow when he finally appeared.... Mystery man knew how to dress. Black jeans, a deep navy blue coloured T-shirt that looked painted on over those muscles... He must be a devotee of the gym, a brown leather jacket and a pair of black combat boots. He had his hair up in a man bun and she stared at his beautifully carved face as he focused on fastening a watch onto his wrist."Stop staring." He casually stated and walked for the door. She followed and had to swallow when she caught a whiff of him. He was HOT! What kind genes did he have?! Probably not even Z
Eleanor spun to face her."How did you know my name?"She laughed. "I know everything. I'm Anna."Eleanor blinked. "Uh.... Okay.""Please, sit down."She sat and watched Anna stare at her, with a strange smile on her face."Anna?""I'm sorry, Ella. I'm just so excited. You're finally here! And even more beautiful in person." She laughed out in glee.Eleanor was freaked out. "Finally here? Do you know my mom? Or boss?""No no, well, not yet anyway. How are you?""Who are you?"Her smile deepened. "I'm Anna. I see you're confused.""You see very right! This place looks amazing!"Eleanor couldn't help herself. It looked amazing. Anna smiled."I know. Planted them myself.""No way. It's like wonderland out here!"Anna smiled. "Not to toot my own horn but, I'm awesome."Eleanor laughed, "No kidding." and stared at Anna. Anna stared back."You're not screaming. That's good."Eleanor nodded. "Tha
Andreas walked into the house at around past 6 p.m. and headed straight for the bedroom. Eleanor had banned him from leaving the office before due time, assuring him that she was okay and requesting that he focus on work. After that, she'd said nothing to him at all. Not even when he'd begged. She hadn't picked up his calls, nor had she responded to his texts. His only consolation was that her sister had gone to her. When she'd texted him an hour ago telling him that she was leaving, he'd left the office immediately. He was home a whole hour later.Traffic in New York was no joke. He walked into their bedroom, but didn't see her. Checking other rooms, he finally found her in his art room. She was standing in front of the painting of her he'd been planning to gift her with, in nothing but her bright orange lacy bra and panties. She turned to look at him and the look he saw on her face pushed sexy time to the back of his mind.He moved to stand behind her."It's very beautiful," she whi
11 Months later...."Calm down, baby."Eleanor sighed heavily. Pulling her thumb out of her mouth, she looked out of the window of the moving car. The original person who had bought the company from Maxwell Black was coming, and she had been told by Ramone that he wanted to see the lead editor and a few other writers. Her main worry was that he'd find something unsatisfactory and fire someone. Maybe her. Maybe some else. Her nerves were all over the place. She sighed noisily and licked her lips."I can't. I'm so anxious.... I think I'm going to throw up.""Again?" He asked with concern and pulled over. She bolted out of the car and bent over, heaving the nausea away. Moments later, she felt his palm rubbing her back."Are you okay? You haven't even had anything yet."She slowly nodded, feeling the nausea backing away. She'd been feeling funny for the past month, but had refused to go to a hospital. She didn't think it was serious. Just nausea, mid day dizziness, and constant tirednes
They finally made it to the theatre. Andreas marveled at the amount of people at the cinema, so late at night. Eleanor insisted on buying the tickets and to stop her from shocking him as she so vehemently threatened to, he let her. They got into the packed hall and got a seat at the back. Right before the movie started, Eleanor stood, rasping out,"I have to pee. Be right back." She kissed his cheek and ran for the bathroom. She returned four minutes later with a certain look on her face."Ciccino?" She called."Hmm?""Do you know what gaping is?"Andreas gave her a recoiling frown. "Where did you hear that?""Don't be so obvious, but look there," she discreetly pointed to his right."See that dude with the black jacket and brown hair?""The one talking to a lady?""Yeah. He said it to me."Andreas turned back to her. "How?""I was coming out of the female restroom and he was stood right in front of it. He tried to talk to me and as I was trying to avoid his hands, he said I'd look
3 months laterAndreas and Eleanor got out of the car in front of Eleanor's house in New York. Her wounds had healed somehow. They hadn't told her how, but they had thoroughly scolded her on who to save, and what the word 'enemy' meant. After that, she had not been allowed to do a lot. She could only eat, sleep, and squirm away from Andreas' glare whenever she tried to do more. Now, in her prediction, Andreas had been Anna.Faceless voice was over and done with.Somehow, Maloniah had survived.Klitanis had been released into the supernatural realm, but Maloniah and some of his demon friends had been taken into the stone. Andreas had proposed two months later. It had started off with Andreas taking her up to the roof, claiming to want to show her something. He had then sprouted huge white wings, and flown them up high."There are weirdly shaped trees that I think you would like to see."She instantly nodded, her eyes wide. Weirdly shaped trees? How weird?! He flew them to one that wa
"Fuck!" Andreas swore, gritting his teeth when his eyes met Alexandra's. Shaking the crawling pillagers off him, he sprouted wings and flying up, took two lycans with him. Crushing their hands and feet partially in anger and in a bid to end their thrashing, which just resulted in one of them biting into his thigh-which he ignored-he flew over to Adrastos.Dropping the more violent lycan and watching it's hands flail before it's skull cracked open against a rock, he turned to face Adrastos."Alexandra is here."Adrastos' eyes widened. "What!?""She's here! Who set her free?!""I don't know, my king-""Find whomever did it and bring him or her to me.""Do I get her off the battleground?"Andreas cussed. It would cause a distraction. A distraction that they couldn't afford."No. Not yet."While Adrastos shouted, annoyed at the lack of common sense possessed by a few of his kind, Andreas turned to descended. That was when he saw William.
Tension brewed within the group. They approached Eleanor's place and true to their words, in the distance, they saw figures approaching. Getting to the front of the house, they stood.Waiting.Eleanor was more impatient to see if what Esmeralda had given her for her eyes would work.Contact lenses.Esmeralda had explained to her that the eyes of the Fourth spirit held horrors unknown to men. Torture, sadness, anger, bitterness, shame, tranquil torture, hate, you name it, they were all there. They all strove for dominance in his eyes and If she looked really close, she would see them all, fighting with their hypnotizing trade marks on their backs. Looking into his eyes drew out some form of reaction. Be it fear, surprise or even curiosity, it drew out a reaction. An emotional reaction. That was what granted him access to the soul. He needed a reaction as an opening to enter and the lack of a reaction served as a barrier to his entrance. That was
Eleanor awoke to find herself in his realm. The supernaturals hadn't taken lightly to Esmeralda being in their realm. Some leaders were rather shocked, now seeing Eleanor as the ticket to somehow drawing their once peaceful creatures back from the Fourth spirit. Eleanor was cool with it... Till she found out that some planned to kill them for betraying them. She also found out that Daphne had willingly joined the Fourth spirit because Alexandra had tricked her. Also, the supernatural kingdom was carrying out a sweep to seek out betrayers and liars. So much was happening. Esmeralda- who once upon a time was Anna's friend- had told them all of the Fourth spirit's mode of attack, plans, thoughts, changes, the time that was best for him and back up."How can we even trust her!?" Shouted a rather annoying supernatural leader for literally the fiftieth time.Everyone either groaned or shot him aggravated looks, telling him to shut up.He was
It had been an added week with her in the realm of the supernaturals, and she'd found out a bunch of things. One, Everyone looked at her with starlit eyes after finding out that she was the child prophesied about, and she wasn't liking it.Two, Garion like liked her, and was pretty bummed out that she was Andreas' mate, but was happy for them, nonetheless.Three, Daphne had gone missing. She'd only found out when Anna had said it to stop her from asking any more questions, because apparently, she couldn't say exactly what she saw because it would "disrupt things".Four, Faceless voice's witches couldn't see into Andreas' realm.Five, there were portals everywhere, like the one in Lake Creek.Everywhere.She could go anywhere in this world, as long as she found the right portal. Just, what would she say if she ran into a foreign police officer who asked for something she forgot to bring along? Say a passport or an ID card? That
"Deitalyn-" Eleanor turned in the direction she'd seen Deitalyn go off in, but saw Andreas.Andreas!"Even better!" She got off the bed and rushed to him."If I accept that we're soul mates, I'm accepting to a marriage?"His brows dipped at her troubled expression."You don't want to get married?""No- I mean yes, but not right now. We still have to fight faceless voice and kick his crusty old butt!" She enthused, making wild hand gestures."I'll get injured because I'm just like that, and besides, it makes it all the more cooler, walking out of battle in leather pants and thick smoke behind you, with blood dripping down your face, and a sword or something in your hand."Andreas rose a brow."That's just how it's done, son!" She threw out.Andreas fought the urge to slap his forehead."You'll be doing stuff too. I'll have to tend to my injuries and knowing me, it'll take weeks! Knowing Anna, I'll get food shove
