Chapter Eighty-Eight

Alex pov

I felt someone calling my name in my head. I tried to ignore it, but it got so loud, so I pushed out and opened my eyes, even though it felt heavy.

But then the room was so bright, so I closed my eyes and blinked a few times, trying to get my eyes used to the light before I opened it again.

"How are you feeling?" A voice I recognized to be my mate's asked me.

"Worn out, tired, drowsy, take your pick. Where are we?"

He pointed at the machines and said, "At the hospital, isn't that obvious?"

"Again? What happened this time?"

"You don't remember anything from the ceremony?"

"What ceremony? I do not..." I stopped talking because I started recollecting everything, from Hayden making me angry to entering that enclosed space, and someone placed something on my nose and then knocked me out.
