5. Invitation

"Woah that was intense", I said with a sigh. It seems like I have strapped myself with an unnecessary enemy. Kasa was still angry urging me to end her life for disrespecting our bond. I snorted at her overreaction. Daisy looked at me curiously.

"I was just reacting to my Wolf. She wants me to kill her. But don't worry I won't do it", I said with a small smile.

"The wolf talks to you from inside?", she asked in surprise.

"Yes but not always or we will end up insane. We can seek help when we are in trouble", I explained to her.

I won't ask Kasa's help though. Her muddled brain is full of lust for Silas. I can't trust her and she knows this. So she is determined to punish me. Being angry with your own Wolf won't be any good in the long run. They can make us do crazy things and even end our lives. I only hope that she doesn't take such extreme steps with me.

"Don't push me", I heard a reprimand and I smiled at Kasa.

"Sorry am I being weird right now?", I asked her. Being a werewolf it is easy to understand the dynamic of the wolf. I know it is not the same for humans.

"It is just strange. I have been living here but I don't have any werewolf friends", she said with a shy smile.

"That is fine. You got me. Don't take Bella's words to your head. You are amazing", I told her.

"I know. I'm not sad or anything. I have already been proposed by a werewolf but I said no to him", she said.

"Who?", I asked her.

"Beta Jerome", she admitted with a blush.

I didn't know he had any beta. Maybe he got one after I was imprisoned. He must be a rogue or an ally. An alpha with a beta is pretty strong. Just as an Alpha with Luna. But I was his Luna so I won't be offering him any help so that won't work in his favour.

"Why?", I asked in surprise. Normally women would be head over heels when a beta proposed to them. Being a beta's mate will push you up in the rank and being close to the alpha's circle can help you stay protected.

"He is a werewolf and there must be a mate for him somewhere. When he or she comes I will be heartbroken", she said.

"That doesn't seem like a valid reason to reject somebody", I said.

"It is. I'm a human and I will never be his mate or we could have children", she said.

"You have thought this for long", I said.

She blushed again. I could feel her pain. I knew she liked him. The only thing that was stopping her was that he was a werewolf. He hadn't killed her only family like mine did. She still had a chance of happily ever after. I will make sure that she gets hers even if I can't get mine. But Beta was still my enemy since he was a pillar of strength to the alpha. But I chased away those bad thoughts.

"I didn't want a relationship that is destined to be doomed", she said.

She had no idea what she was talking about. Her relationship wasn't destined to be doomed like mine. She had not sworn an oath to kill the love of her life like me. My wolf grunted in anger. I ignored her. She still thinks she can stop me and get her happily ever after. But that is only a piper's dream.

"Listen. You can't hold something that he had no control over. You should have a much more valid reason than him being a werewolf. From what you told me you like him. But you are afraid of rejection and in turn, rejected him at first. But that is something that cowards will do. You are far more braver than that. What if he finds no mate and loses you for nothing ", I told her.

"Can such a thing happen in werewolves? Not having a mate! ", she exclaimed.

There was only a small percentage that it would happen. But still, it could and I wanted to encourage her to get her Wolf instead of pining for him.

" Yes", I said to her. She sighed now really pining because she had already rejected him. I tried to hide my smile. I don't think that someone could just get over her too quickly. She was also a blonde but short. Her face held an innocence that was elusive and endearing.

"I guess I lost my chance", she said sobering up.

"Never give up. That is a lesson that I have learnt from my life", I said to her.

"OK. Maybe I was too quick to judge Bella. Maybe Alpha had fallen in love with her too", she said. I felt my wolf snarl at the poor thing. I didn't want Kasa to be riled up.

"So we must prepare a plan to get your Wolf", I said with teasing.

"What? There is no need for that", she said with half protest.

"I'm going to do something and you better join me. Or I will tell him directly that you have changed your mind", I said with a smirk.

"You can't tell him that", she said appalled.

"Then you better do as I say", I said trying to her.

"Ok", she said with a low voice and I chuckled.

So this is going to be interesting. We heard a knock on the door and it was pushed open. I narrowed my eyes at the guard.

"Alpha wants you to come to the party tonight wearing this", he said placing a box delicately on the table. I glared at him. How dare he order something like this? I walked from the bed and waited till the guard was out of my eyesight. I opened the box and saw that it was a red dress. I took it out and threw it on the floor. Daisy came running to me. I slammed my foot on the dress hard.
