3. Do over

"I wish I could say the same", I said to him. The court was shocked at my blatant insult to the alpha. The collective gasps around me made me feel great. What I didn't anticipate was that my guard pushed me down. I wish I could hear it but sometimes people do things without thinking. I let out a gasp of pain. Silas was unmoved but I could sense anger radiating from him. One moment he was sitting there with the human girl and then he shifted into the powerful werewolf. His silver coat blazing in the lights. Human girl fell away from him in shock and fear.

He let out a howl and jumped towards me tearing the guard who hit me. His upper body was torn from his lower half. The blood pooled below. Everyone stood up bowing. Everyone except me of course. He shifted back within a second. He was naked but we werewolves are not ashamed of god-giveniven bodies. He took my hand and dragged me away from the audience. He pulled me inside the first room he could find. His eyes scanned me like I was a dangerous threat or enemy which I was in a way. But not now I was completely at his mercy at the moment.

"Why would you kill him? I'm sure you would have enjoyed it", I said spitting at him. He didn't even flinch.

"I didn't order him to hit you. He overstepped his boundaries", he said clenching his teeth.

"Careful alpha you just announced to the world that I'm important to you", I reminded him. I looked around. We were alone but we werewolves have amazing hearing abilities.

"You wouldn't say a word to them about you being my mate", he said.

No one knew that he was my mate save my father and brother. He was cautious first but then he realised that my fiance is a great warrior so he threw away his inhibitions. How it came to bite him back!

"I don't have to you said it yourself", I said.

"Every room is soundproof in here. The humans helped me build it", he said with a smirk.

"How could you get help from those traitors", I said.

"Is that what you think of humans? What will your new friend Daisy say about it?", he asked me.

That quickly shut me up. Daisy was an exception. I could tell that she was trapped in here like me.

"You think they are all traitors but no one beat your father", he said.

"He wasn't a traitor", I said with a snarl.

"He was the worst kind. I won't give you details but believe this. He deserved everything that I did to him", said him.

I tried to hit him but he caught my hand. He was strong but I could tell that he was getting weaker because his inner wolf was getting affected by our proximity.

"You are only alive because you are my mate", he growled.

"I don't want your mercy", I threw back at him.

He tried to take a calming breath as though speaking to me was giving him migraine.

"Listen to me. This is your do-over. I'm giving you a second chance to prove your loyalty to me. I have given a chance to many of your pack members. I would extend you the same courtesy.

I have known several of my pack members have changed sides to survive. There are also several rogues which my father had cast away. The guard who hit me was one of them I guess.

"You shouldn't have wasted your time on me. I will never forgive you for what you have done", I said gritting my teeth.

"You will in time. You were always eating out of my hands or have you forgotten?", he said with a winning smile.

"I didn't know you would turn out to be a murderer of my family", I said.

"I haven't murdered your family", he said.

"You have. You killed my father and brother", I said.

He watched me without uttering anything. I knew I had overstepped my boundaries I had come so deep that there was no turning back.

"It is your life and your decision. You can keep on defying me and insult me. One day you will get on my nerves that I will send you back to the prison. Or you could just behave and be free.

I calmed down. This is not an easy decision for me. I have to be careful. I need to exact my revenge on him. Being stuck in a prison is not going to help me with that.

"Come on let us rejoin the party. I want you to stay silent unless spoken to you. If you keep defying me then I will take away your friend and put you in prison", he said.

"You wouldn't dare", I said.

"Try me? I'm going to do everything in my power to make you submit" he said.

"I will never submit to you", I said with a hard look.

"You will when it is the right time", he said.

I knew what he meant by the right time. When I'm going to turn eighteen we are supposed to mate. He needs me to get heirs. Though he hadn't talked to me. I could guess his reasons for getting me out.

"I'm not going to be your consort", I said.

"I'm not exactly thrilled either. I can't father a child with another werewolf and a human can't bear me a child", he said.

"I'm warning you. If you so much as touch my body. I will rip you into pieces", I said.

He extended his hands and lightly touched my face with the back of his hand. I bit my lips so that I don't moan. Do not betray me, Kasa. I talked to my Wolf. She hadn't talked to me in a long time. Ever since I hatched the plan in my brain she wouldn't talk to me. It was suicidal to go against your Wolf. I would never be able to shift if I provoked her further.

"I missed him", I heard a soft voice.

I didn't ask who. I knew who she was talking about. I was glad that my Wolf had finally started to talk to me.
