Chapter 7

The next morning, I woke up in our mansion, not remembering how I got back. I brushed aside the confusion and went straight to the bathroom to start my morning routine.

It didn't take long for me to finish showering.

After my morning routine, I went out of my room to head to the kitchen. But in the middle of the stairs, my amazing mother scolded me.

"Good, you're finally awake!" she said. "What have you been up to, huh?" she added. I didn't answer, just continued walking.

"Andrew!" she called, but I ignored her. "I'm talking to you, don't be rude. Where were you last night? I'm trying to talk to you, so answer me!" she added, but I still ignored her.

I was still angry at her for forcing my sister to marry a Mafia member. She lost a huge amount of money in a gambling game, a game that destroyed our family. Dad left because Mom was always at the casino. She took it to heart when she found out we lost over two billion at the casino, especially when she learned that my sister was the price to pay. Out of grief, my father passed away early, and our business almost went bankrupt. Thankfully, my father had introduced me to the world of business early on, so I was able to recover the company's losses. But she wasn't satisfied, she wanted me to marry the son of her friend, even though I was with Rhian. So, I still hold a grudge against her, and I don't care what she does with her life, as long as she doesn't interfere with mine.

I didn't realize she was following me to the kitchen. As I was making myself a cup of coffee, she spoke from behind me.

"By the way, I need money for groceries. My friends and I are going to meet this afternoon, so I suggested we meet here at home. It's Sunday, so I expect you to be here. They're bringing their kids so you can meet them," she said, knowing exactly what she wanted.

"Okay, how much do you need?" I asked.

"50K for tonight's dinner," she said. I nodded, agreeing to her request. I told her to just ask me for the money later. I saw the joy on her face when I said that.

Even though I was angry, I still gave my mother money, but only a limited amount. Our maids were busy cleaning the house, even though it was already clean. Our cook was also busy in the kitchen, so I just locked myself in my room to avoid disturbing them.

As evening approached, many cars arrived, causing our maids to become busy. I just shook my head. I peeked out the window and saw how luxurious their cars were. Then, someone knocked on my door. I quickly closed the curtains and went to see who it was.

"Why?" I asked the maid who was knocking on my door.

"Sir, Madam wants you downstairs. They're all in the kitchen, and they're waiting for you," she said.

"Okay, tell her I'll be down soon," I replied.

"Yes, sir," she said before turning around to leave.

After she left, I went back to where I was, grabbed my phone and keys, because I planned to leave soon after I fulfilled my mother's wishes.

As I went out and towards the dining room, I could hear their laughter. My mother saw me walking towards them and gave me a big smile, calling me over.

"Son, come here," she said sweetly, making me grimace.

"Tsk!" was all that came out of my lips. Thankfully, it was quiet, so they couldn't hear me.

"Oh, look at my handsome son," she boasted to her friends, looking at me with a smile.

"Is that Andrew? Wow, he's handsome, very handsome," said an elderly woman, with a younger woman beside her, who I assumed was her daughter.

"Come here, son, let me introduce you to my friends," she said. "This is your Tita Clare, and her daughter Melanie. This one at the end is your Tita Teresa, and her daughter Trina. Matilde is the last one, her daughter isn't here because she just arrived from the USA," my mother said. "Friends, this is Andrew Miller Jackson, my son, and he's single," she told them.

"Nice meeting you all," I said to them. We started eating, and then the topic of marriage came up. My mother wanted me to choose one of the two girls, but I immediately refused, causing her to get angry at me.

So, I explained to them all why I didn't choose any of their daughters.

"I'm sorry, Mother, but I won't do what you want. You already forced Ate to marry someone she doesn't love," I told my mother. My phone rang, so I excused myself to answer it. "Excuse me, I'll answer this call," I apologized.

"Go ahead, Drew, answer it. It might be important," said one of the ladies.
