Chapter 6
Andrew's POV I'm currently in my own office. After all this time searching for Rhian, I still haven't found her. Every private investigator I've hired has come up empty-handed. They say someone's blocking their investigations, preventing them from getting the information they need to locate Rhian. "Is this the price I have to pay for what I did?" I ask myself. "If so, I hope we can at least talk and I can find out if our child is alive," I continue, questioning myself. "Sh*t," I mutter angrily, throwing the glass of wine I'm holding. The glass shatters, wine spilling everywhere. I run my hand through my hair in frustration, angry at myself. I call the cleaning crew to clean up the broken glass. After they finish cleaning, I immediately send them away. Then, one of my friends calls, and I answer right away. "Hello!" I answer, my voice lacking enthusiasm. "I saw her!" he tells me, making my eyebrows furrow in confusion. "Who?" I ask. "F*ck Buddy, she was with a little girl, and she looks just like you," he says. "Just tell me straight, Julius, who did you see?" I ask, getting annoyed. "Aish! You're so slow to catch on. Who else could it be? The one you chased away and abandoned after taking her innocence," he says, making me jump to my feet. "Where did you see her?" I ask. "At the airport, Draw. She's beautiful. I didn't recognize her right away because she's a model in the USA. That's why she was so hard to find, because of her fame. Everyone protects her." "Don't take your eyes off them, keep watching. I'm coming," I tell him. After saying that, I rush out of my office. "Mr. Jackson, you have an appointment..." "Cancel all my meetings today. Go home, I have something more important to do than these meetings," I tell my secretary. "Copy, Mr. Jackson," she replies. So I leave my company and head to the airport to find them. But as I'm in the lobby, someone blocks my path. I stop them because the woman is about to wipe her wet hand on my suit. "I'm sorry, sir," she says, but I ignore her. I turn around and leave. "Mr. Jackson, I want to apologize," she calls after me. I signal to my staff to stop the woman from following me. But she's stubborn and grabs my hand. I immediately pull it away. "Look, Miss! I don't know you, so get out of my way," I tell her, then leave my company and get into my car. Suddenly, my phone rings, and I answer using Bluetooth. "Hello?" I answer. "F*ck Buddy! Where are you? I'm on Ortigas Avenue, following your ex," he tells me. "Okay! Don't hang up so I can locate you," I tell him. "Copy, Buddy!" he replies, so I change my course to follow my friend. When I look, he's stopped in front of a private property, known to belong to the number 1 business tycoon in the world. Their personal lives are extremely private, so we never see any of the family in person, only in pictures or magazines. We only see the married couple, but never any other family members. "What's he doing there?" I ask myself as I drive towards the property. Soon enough, I arrive. But I see my friend surrounded by armed men, so I get out and approach him. "He doesn't know me. I'm just his friend. I was just here for a moment," Julius says as I approach. "Sir, you can't go in. We're just following the orders of the Madam and Sir," one guard replies to my friend. "I understand, sir, so I'll just leave," he says. I call out to him so he doesn't leave completely. "Julius!" I call out his name, and he turns around. "Thank goodness you're here. I've been waiting here for ages," he tells me. I'm about to ask where she is, but he beats me to it. "She's inside. Looks like she's marrying a rich guy. Tsk! You're too late, Buddy, so just move on," he tells me. "Let's just go get drinks at the bar," he adds, leaving me no choice but to follow him. "Sir, sorry for the disturbance. We're leaving," Julius tells the guards, who nod at us. I get back in my car and follow Julius as he drives. Our journey to INDAY'S BAR doesn't take long. We immediately look for a place to sit. "Hello, new customers. Would you like to register as VIP CUSTOMERS? Of the 98 people who registered, there are two VIP ROOMS available, so register now," a woman announces. Julius immediately stands up and goes to the announcer. "Wow, thank you, sir. There's only one left," she says. I see what Julius is doing and just shake my head. He's accompanied by two waiters who take the drinks I ordered, then they lead us up the stairs. We enter the room and are amazed by its beauty, as if we're in our own home. The woman shows us where the bathroom and bed are. After showing us, she leaves, and the door is unlocked. We drink and chat with Buddy Julius about business and other things. We don't realize how much we've drunk. If anyone saw us, they'd think we were crazy, because all we're doing is laughing and crying. Soon, we don't understand why love is so playful, and we don't even know how we ended up inside the bar.Chapter 7The next morning, I woke up in our mansion, not remembering how I got back. I brushed aside the confusion and went straight to the bathroom to start my morning routine. It didn't take long for me to finish showering. After my morning routine, I went out of my room to head to the kitchen. But in the middle of the stairs, my amazing mother scolded me."Good, you're finally awake!" she said. "What have you been up to, huh?" she added. I didn't answer, just continued walking."Andrew!" she called, but I ignored her. "I'm talking to you, don't be rude. Where were you last night? I'm trying to talk to you, so answer me!" she added, but I still ignored her.I was still angry at her for forcing my sister to marry a Mafia member. She lost a huge amount of money in a gambling game, a game that destroyed our family. Dad left because Mom was always at the casino. She took it to heart when she found out we lost over two billion at the casino, especially when she learned that my sister wa
Chapter 8I noticed what she said; it seemed she realized I wasn't comfortable being with them. Based on my observation, she was different from the two women who always flaunted their daughters. I smiled at her comment and excused myself before heading to the garden to answer my friend's call."Hello?!" I answered, and it was none other than Julius."Buddy, are you free right now?" he asked.I smiled because this was my chance to get away and avoid my mother. "Yeah! Why?" I replied."Come meet me at INDAY'S BAR; I don't have anyone with me right now," he said, sighing. It sounded like my friend had some problems, so I immediately asked."Do you have problems, Julius?" I inquired, but I only heard another sigh before he answered."Aish! It hurts, Buddy," he said, sounding like he was coming from a breakup."Okay, I'll come to you," I replied, then hung up.I returned to the dining room to politely excuse myself. Even though my relationship with my mother wasn't good, I still had some r
Chapter 9Rhian's POVAs I was getting ready for my meeting with Andrew, my daughter walked in, amazed at how I looked."OMG Mommy, you look so gorgeous and sexy! I wonder why so many men want to court you, even though you have a daughter," she said. I smiled at her words and immediately kissed her cheek, thanking her for the compliment."Ohhh! Thank you so much, my sweet and lovely baby Angie," I replied to my only daughter."Wait here, Mom! I have something to put in your hair," she said, hurrying off to her room. Though I was curious, I waited for her in my room.A moment later, she returned with a silver hairclip designed like a butterfly, adorned with diamonds in every detail."I made it," she said shyly. "I hope you like it, Mom."She placed it on one side of my hair. I was speechless from its beauty."This is lovely, my child," I finally managed to say, filled with admiration. For such a young age, she had created something so beautiful."Do you like it?" she asked, her face be
Chapter 10I looked at him and smiled as if I hadn't experienced the turmoil he put me through yesterday.'Yes, I've moved on, but the pain in my heart still hasn't healed. It's like a fragile thing that, once broken, is hard to put back together, with a scar etched into it,' I thought to myself while raising an eyebrow at him."Yes! Mr. Jackson?" I asked formally."A-ah, n-nothing," he stammered, making my eyebrow raise even higher at his reaction. But I quickly turned my attention to Eli, who was speaking and furrowing her brow."You two know each other?" Eliana, my manager, asked.I quickly responded to her question."Yeah!" I said, causing Andrew to look at me."Ohhhh! Can I know how you two met?" she asked again. I just smiled because I knew she was teasing me."I met him during a part-time job at a fast food restaurant," I replied."Rhian," he said, probably thinking I would deny where we first met.I smiled before continuing, "Where I fell but wasn’t caught," and I followed tha
A Familiar Face and a New OpportunityChapter 11"Excuse me, Miss! Are you looking for me?" A woman asked me, her voice familiar. I knew it was my former manager who had arrived.I was facing away from her, so I took a step back to get a better look. When I turned around, her eyes widened in disbelief, blinking rapidly as if she couldn't believe who she was seeing."Oh my, Rhian Suarez, is that really you?" she asked, still in shock."Yes, Ma'am Mira, how are you?" I replied with a smile, my voice warm."It's you! You're so beautiful now, and so famous. You know, I have every magazine that features you," she said, her voice filled with pride. "In fact, you're a big fan of my son, Sebastian. Remember him? He was in your batch at the university. You know, he's been crushing on you for a long time, but he's just too shy. Even though you have your own child now, he still talks about you all the time," she added, making me blush at her words."Thank you," was all I could manage to say.
Chapter 12It was Tuesday, my first day at Jackson Company, where I would be modeling for their perfume. As I was getting ready, my daughter came in, wanting to tell me something.“Mom!” she said. Even though she was only 5 years old, she spoke like an adult, unlike other children her age who still stuttered.“Yes! What does my dearest baby want?” I asked her.“Can I come with you?” she asked, making me pause what I was doing. “I promise I’ll behave, and I want to watch you work!” she added, making me sigh. “Please, Mom!”I had no choice but to agree.“Okay, okay! But promise is promise, okay!” I told her. “You have to keep your word.”“Yay!” she exclaimed, then quickly ran off to her room.I continued looking for something to wear. I finally settled on a summer dress with a sunflower pattern, yellow and blue, which made me smile. I got dressed quickly and waited for my daughter on the sofa. A few moments later, she came out with a smile on her face, wearing a dress just like mine. We
Chapter 13While I was in the middle of my shots, my thoughts kept drifting to my daughter, who was with Andrew's secretary.I had changed my outfit six times, and they were taking photos of me from different angles. I made sure to pose well because I didn’t want to mess up right from the start.“Okay, just one last picture so our model can take a break,” said the photographer, who was snapping my photos.I posed with a captivating smile.“Wow, nice one! That’s the way to attract the audience,” he said while capturing the moment. After that, my colleagues started to applaud.“Our next pictures need to be well-composed, and remember, Ms. Rhian, you’re not alone here. You have a partner, and I hope you two work well together,” he added. “Okay, take a break while we review the shots we’ve taken.”I quickly headed to a chair where my things were and called my daughter. As I retrieved my phone, I dialed her number. After just a few rings, she answered, and I couldn’t help but smile.“Hello
Chapter 14Andrew's POVI had been seething with anger for quite some time. The way Rhian looked at her partner during the photoshoot had ignited something in me. I knew I had no right to be angry since we weren’t together, but I couldn’t help feeling jealous.'Jealous?' I thought to myself, incredulous.“Me? Jealous of that guy? He doesn’t even stand a chance against my looks!” I muttered under my breath, staring intently at my laptop. My grip on the pen tightened until it snapped, a physical manifestation of my frustration as I listened to the director discuss what they would do next.I stormed out of my office, determined to order my secretary to put a stop to the photoshoot. But when I stepped outside, I found no sign of her. This prompted me to head to the studio myself, where the photoshoot was taking place. As I walked through the hallway, employees greeted me, but I ignored them all, my focus solely on my destination. I didn’t even acknowledge the board members I passed by; I
