I closed the fridge and touched his cheek gently.
"Cobi what's wrong?" I asked in concern.
He didn't have to say a thing because I could feel that something was bothering him.
"Nothing." He answered.
"Hey, what's wrong." I asked again and this time I saw his expression soften.
"It's just that we have a prisoner in the dungeon and he's the alpha's ....."
"You sure have guts, deliberately ignoring my direct orders. Do you have a death wish?" A deep, cold voice that held power and dominance asked from behind as I flinched.
I grew up in a pack full of higher ranks. I knew how the alpha acted towards the low ranks.
And the only person who could talk freely and order around a beta was only the Alpha. The man in front of us was the alpha of the pack, despite being Cobi's mate I wasn't
