Never have I ever

"Never have I ever apologized for manipulating someone."

"Never have I ever forgiven someone who hurt me deeply."

"Never have I ever used a person I care about for my own gain."

"Never have I ever not regretted meeting the person in front of me."

King wanted to stop the game midway. Playing this game was a mistake! Kane never mentioned the organization or their past directly, but he was targeting him indirectly.

All of Kane’s questions were harmless compared to the ones King had asked him. He kept drinking on Kane’s behalf, making his world spin.

"Now, now, that’s clever of you. You never mentioned taboo words—literally." He emphasized the word 'literally,' but Kane just laughed.

"My turn, then," King continued. "Never have I ever—" He looked into Kane’s eyes, clearly contemplating whether he should say it. "Hated the person in front of me."

"Oh, you never hated me? Too bad. I hate you to the core." He shrugged and downed the liquor in front of him.

"My turn." He paused to think. "Never have I ever lied to get out of taking responsibility."

Kane’s stare was sharp, but King inwardly wanted to laugh. He didn’t know if Kane would drink or not. 'I lied to take responsibility—it's the opposite, Kane.'

King simply smiled charmingly and drank what was in front of him.

"Never have I ever... not cared for you." He wasn’t sure why he said those words, but he couldn’t think of anything else at the moment. Maybe it was the liquor talking.

He saw Kane fall into a daze—one that quickly turned into fury. He even heard him mutter a silent curse, calling him a liar.

"Never have I ever used someone's weakness against them." Kane grinned sarcastically. "Cheers." He lifted his glass and drank, and King did the same.

King was thinking of his next question when, suddenly, a strong force gripped his shoulder and cornered him against the wall. Since they were nearly the same height, their gazes met at an equal level.

Kane could smell the alcohol on King’s breath from their close proximity. "Last question to end the game—I’ll ask." He stared into King’s amber eyes, fighting against their pull. "Never have I ever *not* thought of seducing the person in front of me." His voice was deep and alluring, his teeth gritted, making it sound almost like a hiss.

Kane felt his body tense. His breathing hitched, but he forced himself not to look away from King’s eyes, despite the overwhelming intensity.

King was about to speak, but Kane suddenly laughed, shoving him away. He turned around, downed a full glass of liquor, and kept laughing as he faced King again.

"Aren’t you going to drink?"

King stared at him seriously. "Do you want me to drink?"

Kane stiffened but quickly laughed it off, turning his back as if he didn’t care about King’s response anymore.

King shook his head and cleaned the table before heading inside.

Upon entering, he saw Kane lounging on the sofa—still shirtless.

"I’ll take a bath," King said before walking to his room.

Kane, on the other hand, was struggling to calm himself—and other things. His face was beet red, and he blamed the alcohol for all of it.

The movie playing on the screen was supposed to be funny, but he couldn’t bring himself to laugh. He found himself funnier than the actors throwing jokes.

'Fine. I’ll swing that way and seduce you, motherfucker. Fall for me, and then I’ll steal your crown and throne, King.'

Even with that thought, he couldn’t stop laughing. 'Oh, the things I’ll do for revenge.'

Fueled by alcohol-induced boldness, he discreetly entered King’s room. His eyes wandered, taking in how clean and fragrant it was.

It smelled like oakmoss—earthy, woody, sensual, with hints of musk and amber.

He patiently waited for King to finish his bath, fighting off the drowsiness from the liquor. When King finally emerged, fresh from the shower, Kane’s breath hitched.

King had no shirt on, only a towel wrapped around his lower body.

The bastard was oozing hot, and his amber eyes were breathtaking. Too bad. 'Should I swing that way now? Nah, he’s my arch-nemesis.'

'I’m not a woman, but I’ll bend you for sure, King.'

King stopped in his tracks, utterly shocked to see Kane lying on his bed. What was even more appalling was the way Kane was looking at him.

From King’s perspective, Kane looked ready to devour him alive, eyes dark with desire. Unconsciously, he stepped back, as if wanting to escape the situation.

That single step made Kane chuckle. "Scared, are you?" He stood up. "Why? I’m not a murderer like you, King. No need to be scared."

He slowly closed the distance, flashing a smile.

King’s lips parted, uncertain of Kane’s intentions. He wanted to push him away—it was clear he was just drunk.

That was the only logical explanation for his behavior.

Because if Kane were sober, he’d either avoid him, fight him, or loathe him nonstop all day.

Even though Kane still called him a murderer, there was no killing intent in his gaze this time. Instead, there was something... seductive.

"You’re drunk," King muttered.

He tried to break free, planning to escort Kane back to his room and order him to sleep. It was obvious he was just drunk, saying and doing all sorts of things.

Kane winked. "Yeah?" He stepped even closer. Their foreheads touched, their noses brushed, and their lips were barely an inch apart.

Because of the proximity, they could now feel each other’s breath, the heat radiating between them.

"Want my forgiveness?" Kane whispered. "Kiss me... kiss me senseless."

From Kane’s point of view, he felt warmth spreading throughout his body. He should feel embarrassed or disgusted—but he didn’t. *Must be the liquor,* he thought.

He could sense King tensing, taken aback—but there was no disgust in his gaze.

"You don’t want to?" Kane asked.

Provocatively, he cupped King’s face, locking onto his amber eyes. They weren’t empty like before. Slowly, life was returning to them—especially after hearing the word 'forgiveness.'

"I’ll do it, then."

Kane closed the tiny gap between them and crashed his lips against King’s. He kissed him roughly, a deep, breath-stealing kiss. Even though King didn’t kiss back, he also didn’t push him away—probably too shocked to react.

Kane’s lips trailed down to his neck, where he licked, drawing a restrained moan from King. He reached his ear, licking and nipping at it.

"Kane..."

His hands trailed down King’s bare abdomen, sliding toward the towel, ready to remove it.

Before King could drown in the sensation, he stopped Kane’s hand.

Kane’s dark raven eyes burned with defiance, glaring at him.

King immediately explained, "You’re just drunk. You might regret this later."

He carefully pushed Kane back—a gesture that clearly didn’t sit well with him.

"If you mean what you said... do it sober." King lightly tapped Kane’s shoulder and took his hand. "Come on. I’ll bring you to your room. Take a bath, then rest."

Kane obliged, though his mood had soured. He gritted his teeth, doing his best to calm his veins.
