He looked lost in thoughts. I didn't know if he was thinking about the same thing as me. I didn't intend to be so playful with him. It wasn't on my agenda. But I couldn't help myself from teaching him a lesson. But boy, was I being flustered as well? Why did it bring me down the memory lane? His flushed cheeks reminded me of the earlier days of our unusual pact.

“But you still didn't tell us what you actually do.” Matthew drew on, hanging on the same topic and pulling me back from my thoughts.

I realised that I was staring at him. Rolling my eyes at myself, I took the dessert and started eating it, trying not to look at Kai and his tempting red face. I was getting excited down there and it was not something I was proud of. I needed to get out of here as soon as possible.

“Portraits. I'm kind of an expert at drawing and painting portraits.” Kai finally answered, his tone uncertain.
