“Nónos, the plan is coming out well. I have placed my men at strategic points in the port. Customs shouldn’t be a problem.” Georgios informed me.
“Good. Now focus on getting men to intercept the initial location of the goods before shipment. Some of them would be shipped primarily from Europe, so send messages to our men to get to those cars and ensure our goods are hidden properly.” If they manage not to fuck this up, Adira’s plan would be a huge success.
“Yes, Nónos. I’ll make sure—”
My goodness!
The voice of my underboss droned into the background as I was struck dumb by the vision that was Adira. She looked magnificent. I had chosen the dress thinking of how it’ll fit her beautiful curves, but my thoughts of her in it didn’t do justice to the woman walking down the stairs. My little flame looked absolutely ravishing.
She finally reached the bottom of stairs, a coy smile aimed my way. She wore the necklace I got her, and it sat beautifully between her collarbones.
“You have a little drool here,” she said, gesturing towards her chin.
What? I discreetly checked my chin, and of course, she was lying. She laughed at me but was interrupted by the phone call I’d forgotten about while admiring her beauty.
“Nónos? Boss, are you there?”
“I’ll speak to you later, Georgios,” I said, ending the call.
Turning to Adira and giving her a heavy glance of appreciation, I began to walk towards the door.
“Come on, Adira. We don’t have time to waste.” I heard her mutter something under her breath—demon—but ignored her.
“Oh, lest I forget. My mama, can be somewhat of a viper, so be… careful around her,” I said with a sarcastic smirk aimed her way. She gave me a confused look in response.
Let’s just hope Adira can survive Helen Karas.

We arrived at the venue just in time. I stepped down from the limo, Adira’s hand in linked in my elbow, and we walked into the building. Just as I remembered, the organizers never fail to make their chosen venue as garish as ever. Every. Single. Year. They never fail with their unnecessary decorations.
You know, for a charity gala, these people really know how to pretend they care for the poor and less privileged. In this hall, were different types of people—from those who genuinely want to help (very few) to the ass-kissers, business magnates and the crime lords like me, this place housed all sorts.
Including my mother.
“To pedí mou!” my mother said, coming towards me with her arms wide open for a hug. I grimaced, left Adira’s hold, and embraced my mother.
(My boy!)
“Yia sou, mamá!”
(Hi, Mama)
“Have you been eating lately,” she said, drawing back from the hug and scrutinizing my form. “You look like you’ve lost some weight.”
“That’s not what I came here for, Mother. And yes, I’ve been eating.”
She slapped my tuxedo jacket-clad shoulder. “Don’t take that tone with me, boy. If you had a wife, you wouldn’t look so lean. Thirty-eight years and still single. Theé mou, what crime did I ever commit?”
I sighed heavily at my mother’s theatrical display. Behind me, I heard Adira snicker. Glad she’s finding this amusing.
The sound brought my mother’s attention to Adira.
“And who might you be?” my mother said, done with her dramatics.
“Adira ma’am. I’m here with your son.” My little captive gave my mother a demure smile, a great strategy as my mother liked women who were firm but knew their place around her.
“Hmm.” She turned to face me. “Nice choice, Nikos. I expect wedding invitations soon.” Without giving me space to counter, she walked off, likely to find another unsuspecting victim to torment.
“Well, that was… weird.” Adira said after a moment of silence.
“She probably likes you already,” I said, placing her hand back in their previous position and moving toward her parents. “But only time will tell how much.”
“Mr. and Mrs. Abara, a pleasure seeing you here.” They turned to face me, startled at my presence but quickly recovered when Adira went in to hug them. Yes, it was callous of me to approach them after what happened at their home, but I couldn’t let Adira leave without greeting her parents. Guess, I’m getting soft after all.
“Agapoula, it’s so good to see you,” Adira’s mother said, embracing her daughter.
“It’s good to see you too, Mama.”
Leaving them to catch up, I decided to search for my oldest enemy—Luciano. I’d seen him somewhere around here. The old fool had a barely legal girl, as usual draped on his arm. I’m sure he got her from the sex trade link he ran.
You see, I really hate when humans are traded like meat, and that’s what Luciano does. He trades people like cattle, actually going as far as tagging them.
So, yes, I might have destroyed his organization once or twice. Or more than that. Since then, we’ve been enemies. Now, I know he’s too stupid to be the one sending my little captive threats, but I still want to see him either way. To—how do I say this? —catch up.
“Luciano, long time no see. How’s your organization going,” I said, looking at the disgusting fool whose hand was already gripping the ass of the young girl he brought tonight.
His beady eyes turned to look at me. “Shouldn’t I be asking you, after you stole my goods and burnt down my organization?” And I had a good time doing it too.
“You mean people, right? Trafficked people.”
Flustered, he pushed the girl away and faced me properly. “What do you want?”
“I just want to let you know, Luciano, that if I find out you have a hand in threatening what belongs to me, I will cut your chubby, grimy fingers and stuff them down your throat, leaving just enough air for you to breathe,” I said softly. “Then when I’m done, I’ll put your remaining severed fingers up your ass and let the people you traffic, fuck you with them. After that, I’ll flay you alive so you’ll know never to mess with me.”
I straightened up, looking down at him as a maniacal smile spread across my face. “Is that understood, Luciano?”
“Yes,” he replied with false bravado but I could see the beads of sweat rolling down his nose. I scared him. As I should, cause I’ll do more than what I said if he crosses me.
Now, to find my little flame.
After I was done talking to my parents, I excused myself and went to look for the ladies’ room. It seemed Andronikos had left while I was speaking to them, and now, I couldn’t find him anywhere. After asking around, I finally found the bathroom. When I was done with my business, I came out of the toilet stall to freshen up. My makeup was still surprisingly intact and I couldn’t help but admire once again the work Eric had done on me, including the necklace Andronikos gave me. I touched it, remembering the look on his face as I descended the stairs. I might be a virgin, but I know when a man wants something. And Andronikos wanted me.I smirked at my reflection before I started washing my hands. As I was doing so, someone entered the bathroom. The person joined me at the sink and began washing her hands.“Do you think he really cares about you?” the woman suddenly asked. Is she talking to me? Ignoring her, I dried my hands under the automatic hand dryer and began to walk out.She blocke
In all the times thoughts of devouring her had crossed my mind, I never imagined it would happen like this. My little flame tasted better than I had dreamed. Every suck and flick of my tongue pushed her closer to the edge–an edge I planned to deny her for not trusting me.“Nikos, I–” she gasped, teetering on the precipice of her release.I pulled back, licking my lips clean as I stepped away from her enticing core.Nóstimi(Delicious) I smirked down at her disheveled state, waiting for the familiar ire to ignite in her eyes–and she didn't disappoint.“Did. You. Just. Leave. Me. ON EDGE!?” The fire blazing in her gaze almost outshone the lust still simmering there. Adira was pissed, rightfully so, but I wasn't going to let her finish until she apologized for associating me with that poor excuse for a woman. Was that cruel of me? Maybe. But when have I ever been kind?“Be a good girl and apologize, and I'll give you what you desire.” She looked at me, dumbstruck. For once, I’d rende
Those two words sent a rush of fire and satisfaction through my veins. As he pushed into me, inch by agonizing inch, all I could feel was him. The sensation was mind-blowing—both too much and not enough at the same time. The sting of pain from losing my virginity made my breath hitch. It flared, sharp and raw, but surprisingly, Nikos grounded me with his touch. He moved in and out of me with deep but slow strokes, his lips finding mine in a rough kiss that was in stark contrast to how he was fucking me. He kissed me like he was trying to put a mark on my lips, the warmth of his mouth against mine, easing the sharp edges of my discomfort. The pain began to ebb as his hand slid to my breast, his thumb brushing over my sensitive nipple. The action sent jolts of pleasure through me.“Breathe Flogítsa mou,” he murmured against my lips, his voice a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves.I obeyed him, exhaling shakily as his other hand found its way to my clit, his fingers moving in slow, deli
During the ride to my apartment, sans the usual bickering between me and Iason, I couldn’t help but admit that things, had, in fact, changed between me and Andronikos. The thought that he’d definitely go back to his aloof self around me scared me a little, but I decided not to dwell on it too much.As I walked into my apartment, I heard music coming from my room—a sure sign that Pen had already made herself at home. Iason, under orders from Andronikos, trailed behind me like a pesky fly. I told him he didn’t need to come, but getting rid of him was like trying to take a bone from a dog’s mouth. Impossible.“Pen, I’m here,” I called out.I heard commotion from my room before she emerged in her favorite comfort outfit—cut-off jeans and a tank top—squealing loudly.“Addy!” she screamed, jumping on me in excitement. I laughed, realizing how much I missed her boisterous nature. My life had felt moody without her.“I missed you, Pen,” I said, hugging her for a little longer than usual. Sens
Adira’s nails dug into my chest, her moans echoing in the dim room, the light streaming through the windows the only source of illumination. Her body moved against mine in a perfect rhythm, each motion sending shivers down my spine.Somehow, she’d found her way on top of me, riding me as though I were her personal steed—and in this moment, I guess I was. She looked wild and unrestrained, her curls tumbling down her shoulders in a beautiful, chaotic mess. I gripped her hips, guiding her movements as my breathing grew ragged.“Nikos,” she whimpered, her voice trembling. “You feel so good.” She leaned down to kiss me, her lips soft and intoxicating.I could only groan in response, overwhelmed by the feel of her walls clenching around me. The way she moved, the fire in her eyes—she was everything I’d ever wanted. But suddenly, her face began to blur, her whimpers turning distorted and faint. A chill ran through me as I tried to hold onto her, but she slipped away, dissolving like mist bet
“A warning Nónos. This person isn’t playing games anymore,” Iason said, his gaze steady as he looked at me from beneath the glasses perched on his nose. We were seated amidst a mess of documents, desperately trying to piece together which enemy might be targeting us–targeting my little flame. Shortly after the attack, we managed to reach my mansion at Sagaponack–my current hideaway from Adira as I was obviously avoiding her. Adira! Shit“Iason, triple the guards tailing Adira. I don’t care about her complaints–they don’t leave her side unless she’s sleeping or shitting. Katanoito?”(Understood?)He nodded sharply. “Will do boss. But we need to figure out who this person is, and why we’re handling it alone?”I looked up at that, surprised and annoyed at his naivety. “Because the possibility of a mole is very high, Iason.” I resumed combing through the papers spread out in front of me. “Now, tell me, how many people knew about the meeting today?” His expression shifted as the realiza
The guards, except the unusually happy one, behaved like I didn’t exist. They were like immovable statues—or in the case of the patrolling ones, mobile statues.I won’t lie, I did entertain the thought of putting whip cream on their faces to see if they’d react to that instead. But I ignored that thought after weighing the pros and cons. They probably wouldn’t laugh at my idea of a joke anyway. And yet you wondered what Iason meant when he told you not to do anything stupid. I really need to revisit Dr. Shane and ask for meds to shut my brain down for a while. As the hours dragged on, I found it increasingly irritating that Andronikos managed to ghost me for three days, without so much as a text. It was just the cherry on top of my super aggravating sundae.I decided to head to the kitchen to make myself some dinner. The cheerful third guard, whom I’d nicknamed ‘Smiley’ in my head, followed close behind. His overly enthusiastic footsteps echoed in the otherwise silent apartment.“You
“Stupid, stupid, stupid,” I muttered to myself as I banged my head repeatedly against the shower door.I wasn’t meant to go to her, but somehow, even after trying desperately to avoid her, I found my way to her door. Like a moth to a flame, I couldn’t ignore her presence anymore, and I stupidly sat on her bed, using the faint moonlight streaming through her windows to study her face.I missed her. And though I know it was a stupid move telling her that, I just couldn’t not tell her. And the way she sprang up to help, even when she didn’t have to, just made me more enamored with her—a battle I was constantly losing as the days went on.I meticulously cleaned myself in the shower, trying to avoid wetting the newly wrapped gauze Adira had put on me. Looking at the wounds that were definitely going to add to the stash of scars on my body, my mind couldn’t help but wonder to what had led me to this moment.“Nónos, this is a very stupid idea, and you damn well know it.” I ignored Iason’s r
I ran my fingers over Adira’s back, her head resting in the crook of my arm. She traced slow circles on my skin, a comfortable silence settling between us.“How long do you think it’ll take them to find me?”My fingers froze.“I mean, I’m just stating the obvious. They managed to hurt you, so it isn’t far-fetched that they’ll get me soon. At this point, I just think they’re stalling.”Her words, though grim, carried a biting edge of truth. But I didn’t need her worrying about that.“Look at me, flogítsa mou,” I said, gently gripping her chin. She reluctantly lifted her gaze to mine, and in her eyes, I saw clearly the fear she’d obviously been trying to hide from me. My little flame was scared.“As long as I’m here, Adira, I promise, no one is going to get to you or your family. I’m the only one with permission to do that. Understand?”She nodded, her full lips forming a sad pout. Unable to resist, I kissed her.One thing led to another, and soon, I was inside her again, making slow, p
The threats hadn’t come in days, and though everything seemed quiet, I knew this was just the calm before the storm.Like a lion, the enemy lay in wait for its prey to sleep, and I was going to make sure we never shut our eyes.“How’s the training going, Kace?” I asked Adira’s assigned bodyguard, though I already knew the answer. The cameras I’d installed a while ago—for her protection, of course—allowed me to watch them and her. Hence why she was made to wear leggings instead of shorts like before.I can’t let another man look at my woman’s ass.“It’s going well, boss. She’s greatly improving, but she still has a long way to go.”I nodded in response. My little flame was strong and smart, so I knew she’d pick up fast, but the issues she was facing will be a big detriment to her focus and I couldn’t allow that.“I want you to work with Iason on something,” I started, turning to regard Kace. “Someone has managed to swindle Adira in her company, and she’s in knots over who the person is
I was wrong. It’s fucking hard, and at this point, I’m of the opinion that Kace is a fucking psycho. For the past two hours, we’ve been at it without a single break. Kace has been trying to teach me the proper fighting stance, and let’s just say, I’m failing at it—badly.“You have to stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, boss lady,” he said, circling me as he instructed. “Balance is everything—unless you want someone to kill you?”The fuck, I thought, giving him a stink eye.“What?” he shrugged.Dick.Heading toward me, he let out a heavy sigh, eyeing the form I’d been battling with for what felt like forever.“Your left foot should be slightly forward. Not too much, not at the same level as your right, and definitely not behind,” he said, pushing my leg into the correct position.Annoyed, I jerked my leg out of his hand and stormed off toward the bench in front of the wide, floor- length gym mirror.“You know you can’t give up now, boss lady. Besides, you were almost getting it.
I’ve been in the hospital with my mom a day now, and her condition only seems to be getting worse. She woke up a few hours after the doctor had given us her prognosis. Since then, she has been in and out of sleep, only waking up occasionally to eat, drink, or use the toilet.I still refuse to believe that Mama’s chances are slim. She’s strong. Always has been, and I know she’ll fight this too. She just needs us by her side.I was still lost in thought when my phone buzzed. Annoyed, I frowned—hadn’t I everyone not to disturb me today? I took today off specifically to be with my mother and had explicitly told Thea, my PA, to cancel all my meetings for the day.Picking up my phone angrily, I saw it was a text from none other than Andronikos.Demon👿: Meet me at my company now.First off—he has a company? And yes, I know I should probably know that, but I kinda washed my hands off anything related to him when I got tangled up in his mess. Secondly, is he insane?I texted back with my usua
My office at the pharmaceutical company—a front for our illegal business—overlooked the city of New York. Ironic, really, considering I’m also involved in illegal drugs. Through the window, I watched the city, waiting patiently for Georgios to come to me. I’d had time to think about what happened at the trafficking ring and had finally concluded that it was him. But first, I was going to get it out of him.A knock at the door, interrupted my thoughts.“Come in,” I called out, my hands in my pockets as I continued to stare out the window.“Hello, Nikos,” a voice said from behind me.Turning around swiftly, I realized it was none other than Nefeli. How the fuck did she get in here? She moved toward me, assuming what she probably thought was a seductive gait. I really don’t know what I ever saw in her.“Don’t worry. Your staff let me in,” she purred. “Obviously, only you seemed to have forgotten how good we were together before you met that whore. But I’ll let it slide.”Before she utter
One of the things I hated with a passion in this miserable world was waking up angry—and no one but Andronikos is to blame for it.How dare he walk into my room, all bloody and shit, and tell me that he misses me after ghosting me for God knows how long? And I’m supposed to what? Fall on my knees and thank him for thinking about me?You know what? Fuck that bastard. I don’t have time for his shit today. I had problems at the company to handle, and entertaining his drama wasn’t on my agenda. After taking a shower, I threw on my usual corporate outfit, ignoring the lingering tension from last night, and headed downstairs to the kitchen. But guess who was already there? That’s right—the fucking demon and his obedient hellhound right behind him.I didn’t acknowledge them. Didn’t even give them a glance. I marched straight to the fridge, pulled out the leftovers from last night, and angrily shoved them into the microwave.“Adira,” Andronikos’ voice called to me, smooth yet sharp enough to
