I turn to leave, but immediately bump into Beta Ander and stumble.
He grabs me, making sure I don't fall down. "There you are, Omega Elesi. I have been looking for you. Rainer and I have some questions for you, please follow me."
I want to go back to the dorms and lay down, but it seems fate has another idea in mind. I follow Beta Ander, letting out a sigh, fidgeting as I feel like I am being sent to the principal's office. I kept silent, not really knowing what I could say.
Ander leads me to the Alpha quarters, and then the office. The Alpha and Luna are absent, but Rainer is standing there lost in thought. "Rainer?" The Beta speaks up, aiming to pull his friend's attention. "I have brought her."
Rainer looks up at me, then stands quickly. "What happened out there?!"
Ander puts himself between Rainer and myself, protecting me from his outburst. "Get yourself together, Rainer. Your parents put you in charge of figuring this all out as a test. Do not disappoint them with anger towards an Omega. We don't know what happened."
Rainer's eyes flash this darkness, clearly fighting anger before he moves to take a seat at the desk. "Then let's hear it."
Ander moves, allowing me to go sit at the chair in front of the desk beside himself. "What happened after you heard the explosion, Omega Elesi. Start there." The Beta says in a polite manner, opposite of the Alpha's attitudes towards me.
Vesper is quiet, likely intimidated by the Alpha's anger and not wishing to upset him further.
"I was with Rhory at the pack clinic when I heard the explosion. He told me to go shelter inside, but then I was caught off guard by a scent. It was strange, and my Wolf was curious so I went to investigate. When I arrived at the source of the smell I found my Mother, or what was my Mother. She was the walking dead, a zombie." I pause, allowing them to react to this piece of information before moving on.
"Go on." Anders says, listening to me intently.
"She chased me and I ran, not wishing to fight her. I soon found myself lost and unsure of my surroundings. I wandered for a bit trying to get back to somewhere familiar and that is when I smelled Juniper. I went towards her to check on her and to help her, but I didn't know how to. She was badly hurt, so I alerted others with the mind link and waited..." I am nervous, feeling Rainer glaring at me like I was the one that hurt Juniper.
"Then the white wolf appeared and he at first seemed hostile. I shifted to protect Juniper. We haven't shifted much yet, my wolf and I. But I knew I had a better chance at fighting if I was a wolf." I shuffle a bit in my chair, looking over at Ander. "But then the white wolf started to act strangely as it approached. I was so glad when everyone else showed up."
"So you didn't see nor hear anything before finding Juniper injured." Anders asks carefully.
"No. It was quiet when I got there. I didn't smell anyone else either..." Something with no scent maybe. Vesper is starting to perk up, thinking the same as me. Vampires do not have a scent, but I don't want to let them know about Tirian.
"Just the white wolf." I state and dare look back at Rainer. "Alpha Rainer please. I did not hurt Juniper. I wanted to protect her. She is of the pack now, and we are taught to treat each other in such a way."
Rainer finally softens, clearly just upset that Juniper was hurt. Does he care about her more than he lets on? More than friends? Is what she said about them true? "I understand, Omega Elesi. I was just hoping you'd be able to give us more. The white wolf is Elwood, her brother. He'd never hurt Juniper." He rumbles and runs his hand through his hair, clearly distraught.
Ander lets out a sigh himself then turns to look at me. "Elwood would like to meet you. Is that okay?"
Vesper growls, unsure of that wolf. He is a cultist, a fanatic. 'What does he want with us?'
"Why?" I look at Anders confused. "Must I?"
"You are not being forced to meet him, Omega Elesi. But it would be helpful for us if you did. He has become a bit distraught since meeting you and I think it may calm him down if you spoke with him." Rainer says bluntly, giving me a look. "Do this as a favor to me."
A favor for the Alpha, can't say no to that. Fuck. Guess I have to go talk to the weirdo. "If you wish, Alpha Rainer." I frown, standing up and moving to the door. "Where is he?"
"Ander will take you to him. He is in a room that we had for Juniper prepared down on the lower floor." Rainer responds to me, Ander standing and joining me.
They put Juniper on a lower floor of the pack house and not in the dorms. There is something going on with her and Rainer. Vesper agrees.
I follow Ander down the stairs to the lower floors, unable to really say much. We stop at a door and he knocks, raising his voice as he speaks. "Elwood. The girl from the woods is with me. She has agreed to speak with you."
The door swings open as the man from before just looks at me with this strange expression. "You!" Elwood says in an excited manner, yet I just feel a huge sense of dread wash over me.
I take a step back, unsure of all this. "What about me?" Something feels strange, my body feels odd. "I came here as a -"
Elwood steps forward and moves to grab my arm, his touch sending a trickling of sensation up to my chest. My heart begins to beat faster, and my body feels like it is getting warmer.
"Don't touch me!" I pull myself away, Ander moving to calm down Elwood.
"You felt it didn't you? I thought there was something about you when I saw you in the woods. You are my mate. My fated mate! I have found you finally!" He allows Ander to keep him still, but he is looking at me with this hunger in his eyes.
"We do not believe in fated mates. That is nothing more than witchcraft and trickery used to control a pack. It isn't real." I snap back at him, but my body now feels so strange. Have I been cursed? Vesper is whining, not enjoying whatever is happening to our bodies.
"It is the Moon Goddess's blessing! She has made us each destined for each other!" Elwood is distraught, clearly upset. I am not just immediately accepting his love.
"No!" Is all I can muster as I can feel a need within me growing, a mating need. I want this male to breed me, to make my body tremble under his touch - but I know better. This isn't normal. I need to get away from him. I need to quell this desire.
Anders looks to Elwood, clearly disgusted by him. "That is enough. We told you she'd reject you."
Elwood looks upset, but can't take his eyes off me. He takes a few steps forward, wishing to touch me and Anders again stops him. "Not all packs are like yours, Elwood."
I take this chance to run. To get the fuck away from that man. To try and calm myself. I can hear him calling after me to 'wait' and 'come back' but I rather deal with my undead Mother then continue to feel this way.
No one stops me, no one comes after me. I find myself back on the path to the clinic when I finally stop and look back. I need to see if I am cursed now.
Vesper rumbles and growls. 'That wasn't of the moon goddess.'
I know. That lust felt wrong. I know how it feels to want, to need - to be horney, but that was different. I felt drunk or as if I had taken some sort of drug.
I was going to head to the clinic, but all I want to do is lay down now. Somewhere safe. Escape the chaos of this day under the comfy blanket of my bed. My body reacts to this, now heading towards the dorms. Bre left a note on the door, saying she'd be with her parents tonight. Alone sounds good right about now. I don't have to explain to yet another person how my day went. I almost tear off my clothes, my body still feeling so warm and crawl into bed. It doesn't take long before I feel myself drifting off, hoping that my dreams will grant me some relief from the day.I am awoken by a strange tapping noise. Is someone at my window? I am on the third floor. Slowly I move, my body still feeling strange from earlier. I make my way to the window and pull back the curtain, finding myself shocked to see Tirian perched outside it."Going to let me inside?" He whispers, watching me with those blood red eyes of his. I quickly move to open the window, not really thinking other than 'what if
I get up and head to the showers, at least I should go in late then not at all.I rush to the pack house to check in with the head Omega, but upon arrival I am met by Ander waiting for me in the kitchen. "There you are, Omega Elesi." He says with a tired smile, it seems someone didn't get much sleep last night. "Can I help you, Beta Ander?" I fix my hair up into a ponytail, trying to keep myself from fidgeting too much. "Alpha Rainer has asked me to fetch you when you come in this morning. He'd like for you to be assigned to help Juniper. It seems she has taken a liking to you - or well trusts you." He smiles at me, almost pleading with me to agree to this. I really REALLY don't want to, but I also know that any Omega that agrees to this is going to get bullied by Evette. I don't want any of my friends to suffer. I let out a sigh. "Fine. If the Alpha wishes, but please let it be known that HE asked me." I give him a look, and he raises his hands. "Deal. I will make sure people know
"Alesi? Alesi!" My Mother calls for me as I run through the woods, flinching each time my bare foot hits the cold ground. "Alesi!" She is getting closer, following the scent of my blood - following the sound of my heart. I can feel her hot breath upon my skin. "Alesi. Naughty girl. You know better than to run from Mother." Her teeth upon my skin, pain rushing over my battered body. I try to scream, but my voice is lost to the silence of the woods. The darkness overtakes me. "Alesi?" I wake up, panting again as I try to focus and listen to the small voice beside me. "Alesi we need to wake for chores. You want to be able to eat breakfast today, right?" It was all just a dream. I groan, peeking over at Brenna with a frown. "I am up, Bre." She pouts, the young omega looming for a few more moments before moving to the door to leave. "You best hurry, Alesi." As Brenna leaves I can hear the sound of the others within the Omega dorms scurrying about. The night shift returns, and the day sh
The Daytime Head Omega approaches me, letting out a cough before speaking. "Omega Elesi, today your cleaning duties are the Gamma's rooms. Make sure to do a deep clean - drapes, clothes, sheets, towels all laundered. Everything dusted and wiped down. Vacuumed and mopped. The full shebang." The last bit was said oddly, trying to sound 'hip' as the old folks call it. "Yes, Omega Hilda." I give her a polite smile and go off to find my cart to take up to the Gamma's rooms. Traveling around the packhouse there are whispers of rumors or perhaps truth; The Alpha's and Beta's Sons have returned from training. I can't remember the last time I saw them. I know we are around the same age. I reach the Gamma's room and knock, waiting for a response. If Luna is down at breakfast, he is likely too. He is her shadow after all. With no answer I enter, moving about to gather the various articles of clothing littered about the floor. Yet something causes me to pause, picking up a bra. "The Gamma doesn'
"Elesi!" Bre calls out to me, moving beside me to loop my arms with hers. "How was your morning? I was cleaning the public rooms and oh boy, people are all up in gossip today." She has a big grin on her lips, clearly wanting to whisper these things to me. "I had Gamma's rooms. It was quiet." I smiled, lying but most of it was quiet. "What did you hear?" Vesper seems curious as well, enjoying the pack gossip."Weeeeelll." Bre whispers in a sing-song manner. "You heard the boys are back in town, right?" She snickers, clearly wanting to spill. "I have heard from a source that one of them returned with a MATE!" 'A mate?' Vesper asks curiously. "Didn't they go to an all boys training? Meant for Alphas and Betas..." I ask her, unsure how they'd find a mate in a place filled with males. "We HAVE to go to the bonfire now. They are going. I heard the Alpha and Beta's daughters giggling about it in the playroom." Bre looks obsessed, but I can't blame her. Now I want to go too. "Let's go the
I rush out of the packhouse and towards the forest path, walking briskly as to be free from this feeling. 'Slow down." Vesper aims to soothe me, worried that I am in such a state of panic. I almost trip over a root, stumbling to rest against a tree - calming my breaths. The woods are quiet. Everyone is either back at the pack house, in the village, or at the dorms and houses. The middle of the day the forest is usually quiet, most taking their runs in the early morning or in the evening. Letting their wolves out. Yet it seems I was not alone. I hear the sounds of growling in the distance, mixed with soft whines. Someone was in pain. I slink towards the sounds, not wishing to alert anything yet - it could be two males fighting.I stop in my tracks, letting out a gasp as I hide behind a tree and cover my mouth. How is it happening to me AGAIN?! 'Horney males.' Vesper chuckles as she lets out a little purr, clearly enjoying what we saw. A warrior male is leaning against a boulder stro
I finish my shower once my legs are not jello, washing off the arousal scent and heading back to my room to read a bit before tonight's bonfire. The pack supplies us with an education up to high school and any extended education we need for our given jobs. I want to apply for a scholarship to go to school for paranormal anthropology to better understand the roles all the races play in the world.I am lost deep in a book on vampires when Bre enters the room in a giddy. "We got to look our best tonight, Alesi." She is already opening our closet and tossing outfits onto her bed, trying to rate which one to wear. I know better than to interrupt her, watching her make her plans. "Anything else happened after I left for lunch?" I ask, suspicious now with her excitement. "The Gamma is going to be at the bonfire! I heard him tell Luna he'd keep an eye on her daughter tonight. What do you think he likes? Slutty red dress Bre? Quiet sexy girl blue Bre? Strict play hard black Bre?" My head is s
I feel a presence beside me not soon after, a gruff voice coughing to catch my attention before speaking. "Ah." He stumbles a bit in his words, seeming a bit unsure of what to say next. "The fire is nice." Vesper giggles, finding his behavior adorable. 'He is shy?' I look up at him, catching his blue gaze for only a moment before he looks back over at the fire. "It is. Do you come to the bonfires often? My friend Bre loves them." I try to make some sort of conversation, but I am probably worse at this than he is. I rarely talk to males. "Bre? Ah! I know her. My friend has a bit of a crush-" His eyes widen, realizing he is probably saying more than he should, giving himself a cough and just staring at the fire again. "She has a crush on him too." I whisper to him, allowing him not to be the only one spilling secrets. "I think they will be just fine without any meddling though." I give him a smile, looking him over now as he faces away from me. I remember his naked form clearly - hid
