Felix

I hated clubs. The appeal that they had when I was younger was now lost amidst the stench of sex, alcohol and sweaty bodies. It was too hot in here, too stuffy, and all I wanted was to get back to the pack and finish off whatever paperwork I hadn’t gotten around to doing when my Beta, Zach, had insisted that I join him to celebrate his birthday.

We were also on ‘white flag’ territory which agitated me even further. While all species were meant to keep peace here, no headstrong male could help themselves if the situation suited. Didn’t matter whether we were pack wolves, rogues, vampires or humans, there was always bound to be an alcohol and drug fuelled dispute. Usually over a girl or money.

I had spent the last hour or so unmoving from my position on the black leather couch in our booth, Hibiki on the rocks in hand. We were on an upper level which meant nobody could really come and disturb me, and I had a birds eye view of the club. Most of the guys from my pack had already made their way on to the dance floor, finding some girl to grind on. I grumbled and swirled the amber liquid in my glass, planning my escape as I saw Zach become increasingly distracted with a busty human.

“I can see in your eyes that your want to leave,” Leo, my Gamma, mumbled, seemingly amused. “I’m bored,” I shrugged, downing the rest of my drink. He looked at me and chuckled, standing up. “Let’s go then. I don’t think Claire would be very happy if I’m home any later anyway. He probably won’t even noticed anyway,” he said, nodding his head in Zach’s direction. I stood up and started to make a beeline for the stairs, now that Zach was sucking off the girls face, it was now or never. The last thing I wanted was to put up with a whining Beta tomorrow just because “his best friends missed his party.”

I made my way towards to exit, avoiding the sweaty bodies as much as I could, making sure to check that my pack members were all present as I went by them. The club got cooler as I got closer to the door and I sighed. Leo opened the door before me, and I went to follow before I felt this urge to stop and turn. I shook my head and continued into the night air but felt it again. “Give me a sec,” I grumbled to Leo and took a step back into the club. My gut was never wrong.

I made my way back in, facing the crowd one more time. I don’t know what kind of magic came over the club, but it was as if the crowd had parted to reveal one small she wolf. Dressed all in black, she was dancing by herself, swaying her hips from side to side without a care in the world. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from her. Not because of the way she was dressed, or the way she was moving. But it was her eyes. Piercing brown eyes that were flitting around observing her surroundings. As if they were taking in every crevice and corner in the club. Her lips were slightly parted, as though she was mumbling to herself.

She continued to dance and I continued to stare. She was ignoring every advance towards her, continuing her assessment of the venue. And then she caught my gaze. Copper brown pools so deep that I was lost in them. I was drowning in her gaze and she wasn’t letting me out. I felt warmth fill my body, as if I never wanted to stop swimming in them, but then as if I had blinked, she disappeared.

I shook my head, looking back at the dancefloor, noticing that the space she once was, was now full of people dancing. I sniffed the air to see if I could get a read on her scent, but nothing stood out to me. I growled in annoyance, storming out of the club to Leo, waiting in the car. “All good?” He asked as I got in. “Yeah,” I grunted, thinking about the eyes that captivated me.

Felix One week later and her eyes were still haunting me. Every night my dreams would be spent swimming in deep pools of dark copper brown with no end in sight. By the third night I started wondering whether or not this was some bad omen, or whether my curiosity was getting the better of me. To make matters worse I couldn’t shake the feeling that she saw me as I slept, and some nights my wolf, Creed, would wake sporadically in order to search the grounds for this tiny she wolf.I could tell I was becoming more irritable due to the broken sleeps but I really couldn’t care. We had bigger problems at hand, with an increasing amount of strangers visiting the packs nearest ‘white flag’ zone, and more intruders stumbling into our territory, a tiny she wolf should have been the least of my problems.I sat in my office, groaning at the mountains of paperwork in front of me after another strategy meeting when the sirens in the pack house started blaring. “Fucking great,” I growled, standing up

MiaLucien had been really secretive about this trip to the Inferno pack. Most business trips entailed me learning years of history about a pack and it’s politics, then hours of me rehearsing different scenarios and plans, but this time he was radio silent. I was told where to drive to and when we were leaving and that’s it. The whole drive here I was annoyed and I made sure that I projected my feeling towards him as much as I could. Unfortunately I knew this amused him and he had little empathy for my frustrations. “Mia, your suffocating me with your teenage hormones,” he chuckled during the drive and I rolled my eyes. Knowing Lucien since I was a pup, I was forever a baby to him. Parking the car I sighed and pushed my hair back. “Fucking Lucien,” I grumbled knowing very well that he could hear me, before storming into the pack house. As I came to the office I could hear him having a leisurely chat and did not hesitate to barge into the room. I stood in the doorway and observed the

FelixMia had been in the pack house for three days now. The last few days Lucien was also here, the two of them planning away in our office while the rest of the wolves were out training, but he had left this morning. Now it was just her. With Lucien here is was quite easy to communicate, but without his presence, the atmosphere was quite tense and awkward. The only one who seemed mildly comfortable about this oddly was Creed. Creed was more than ecstatic, some weird obsession with strength she had.I sat in my office staring at the papers in front of them, barely recognising a word on them when I noticed something flicked outside. I looked up out the window and saw her running laps of the oval. ‘Zach, she’s outside, keep an eye on her would you,’ I mind linked Zach. As much as she came with Lucien, it was hard for us to trust someone we didn’t know, let alone a guard. Many of the stories about them implied that they were merciless killers, that didn’t differentiate between prey and

Felix Zach and Mia had been gone for a while and I couldn’t help but feel agitated. I didn’t like not having control and the unpredictable little she-wolf had not helped in the slightest bit. To make matters worse, soon after I had watched them go into the forest I felt and immense amount of power flicker in and off from the forest, as if it was a light house beacon. ‘Are you okay?’ I mind linked Zach. ‘Yeah fine, Mia just got a bit distracted,’ he replied without adding any other detail. I leaned pack in my seat and pinched the bridge of my nose as he failed to elaborate. “What the fuck,” I grumbled. It has been a good 3 hours by the time I saw them return from their adventure in the forest. They were both laughing with each other, acting as if they had known each other for years. Creed was fuming as well, wanting to go out there and push the two apart. I got up and poured myself a whiskey, sitting on the couch closest to the window to catch a glimpse of their conversation.“Fuck I f

Mia It has been a really long time since I was able to train with a pack. Roaming around with Lucien doing 'official business' did not really set me up to make any friends. Feeling a little apprehensive, I followed Zach to the training grounds after finishing up with our breakfast. "Is the Alpha not joining us?" I quesitoned as we walked. He looked at and shrugged, "he usually joins training a little after the rest of us start. Who knows, maybe it comes with Alpha privelege." I had found it quite easy to settle in after Lucien had left, a lot easier with Zach around. His warm personality and cheekiness made my transition into a pack a lot easier. He also seemed to be the only wolf not incredibly wary of me. If anything he saw me as a challenge that he was more than willing to take on. "Now the guys may be a bit weird at first, but they will warm up to you," he continued to reassure as we walked onto the field, seeing the warriors warming up and talking. "Just try not to scare them t

FelixI think all of my guards were captivated as soon as Mia and Tanner started to spar. Who wouldn’t, it was rare to see a guard fight, let alone be able to train with one. As they started it seemed like Tanner had the upper hand, but if anyone paid attention you could see Mia was testing the waters, observing all of his movements, his reflexes. She was strategising while still managing to avoid his swinging limbs. It was like there was a shift in her manner as she completed her analysis, her stance became a little more relaxed and her movements a little more primitive. This is when I knew she was about to spar with more intention. Without any hesitation, she was leaping onto all fours, scaling a perimeter around Tanner. She moved so quickly He struggled to keep up, and she continued to dance around him, making soft silent jumps around him, exhausting her opponent. For Mia’s size, you could see that she had accentuated her agility through training. MiaTwo hours later and I was still reeling from these spars. My work consisted of me travelling, a lot, and hardly ever did I get to train, let alone spar, with pack warriors. Not that I didn’t enjoy training with guards, but training with pack wolves was different. They were tactile and worked like a well oiled machine, with messier moves and a more feral approach, as opposed to a guards clean, very specific move set. ‘Alpha enjoyed it too,’ Fallon snickered in my head and I rolled my eyes. Anybody would have been blind not to miss the hard on he was sporting at the end of our spar. It definitely didn’t go unnoticed when I was straddling him, and I have to admit, I was tempted to grind of him a little just to egg him on. ‘Maybe he has a thing for fighting,’ I shrugged, trying to push the memory out of my mind. Not that I minded, far from it. It was hard not to appreciate the strong, handsome alpha. But he was yet to find his mate, and I was not in a position to become a home wrecke

Being a coven king meant he killed their last royalty, it was a big deal, even if he didn’t make it out to be. What the hell did the last ruler do to make Louis want to take over. From knowing Louis he was always very rational and didn’t care much for politics. He cared a lot more about doing what’s right, and living peacefully, just like his father. Growing up, not once did he once express the desire to be royalty. “Are you going to elaborate? Is this not a big deal?” I hissed back at him, eyes wide as saucers. “Not really, the change needed to happen, I took the opportunity when I could…. Look Mia this doesn’t change our relationship,” he tried to reason with me. He was still soft, as gentle as ever, but yet there was a shift now. He was a target now, whether it was a guards or som

I slowly opened my eyes, the warm rays of the early morning sun peeking through the curtains. I shifted slightly, feeling the comforting weight against my body. Felix, my mate, lay peacefully beside me, his arm draped over my waist, holding me close and the events of last night flooded my mind As I gazed at him, I questioned how this was possible. "I still don't know how this happened Fal," I asked her. "Neither do I Mia, but its real. Maybe ask Lucien?" I nodded in agreement, making a mental note to ask him when I debriefed him later today. I turned my head, stroking Felix's dark hair, cherishing the quiet before the following up on what we found yesterday. Felix's steady breathing was soothing, and I couldn't help but revel in his deep forest scent. He shifted slightly, grumbling something about too early and I smiled, watching as his eyes fluttered open. "What time is it?" he mumbled, his voice alot deeper than usual, after sleep. Felix I stormed back to the packhouse, my mind still reeling from the encounter with Heath, anger pulsing through my veins. "Fucking sick bastard," I muttered to myself as I recalled the things he had said before I had left. I needed a moment to gather myself, to regain control of Creed before I dealt with the situation. Recon would have to happen in the morning. But as I stepped into my bedroom, my breath hitched at the sight that greeted me. There, waiting for me on the edge of the bed, was Mia, wearing one of my t-shirts. She was so small the thing looked like a dress on her, but the sight of her in my clothes, the fabric hugging her curves, gave me an instant hard on. It also satisfied the possessiveness of my wolf to have my scent engulfing her. Suddenly, Heath was long gone from my thoughts. All there was, was my mate. Her copper eyes locked with mine, a mixture of concern and desire etched across her features. It was as if she knew the effect she

For the time being, I just wanted to bask in the moonlight with her."Shit, I need to go," she hissed, trying to wriggle out of my arms. I looked at her in humour, the way her faced scrunched as she processed her thoughts, she was just do goddam cute. "Felix," she hissed, pushing my arms away, "I need to go back to the pack."Those words suddenly reminded me of why I was out here in the first place. "Fuck," I growled, looking at her. "I came out here because Heath said there was an intruder. You were the fucking intruder Mia." She looked at me and smirked, her copper eyes sparkling in the moonlight. My heart fluttered as our lips moved together, the world around us fading into insignificance. Felix's hands cradled my face, his touch both possessive and tender. His fingers traced a path along my jawline, sending delicious shivers down my spine. I melted into his warmth, my body molding against his with an inherent need for his touch. The kiss deepened, our breaths became mingled, and our bodies naturally gravitated closer, the electricity between us crackling, creating a magnetic pull that seemed impossible to resist. "Felix," I murmured against his lips, my voice laced with a mix of longing and adoration. "I'm glad that it's you." I felt a smile on his lips through the kiss, him whispering my name between each breath. His hands roamed my body, exploring every curve and contour with a hunger that matched my own. The

Mia Opening the door, I saw a set of stairs underneath. We cautiously ventured down the stairs into a hidden room, and our eyes widened with a mix of trepidation and disbelief. There, lying on a tattered and worn-out bed, were the bodies of two wolves. Their once powerful forms appeared frail and weakened, as if the very essence of life had been drained from them. "Alpha," one of the wolves whispered and that was confirmation enough for me. "We've found them Lucien, I am sending them back now." I knelt down beside the pair, my heart heavy. Their breaths came shallow and uneven, their features etched with exhaustion. It was clear that they had suffered at the hands of some unknown force. The air surrounding them crackled with a strange energy, and I couldn't help but wonder if dark magic was at play. "Luce, I am going to the pack now, I am going to see if I am able to track their Alpha," I mindlinked Lucien. With my training as a guard, my tracking skills were more enhanced thant that of a normal pack wolf, so I was hoping that this would be enough. As I ventured deeper into the forest, the scent of the lost pack grew stronger, mingling with the earthy aroma of the woodland. I knew my way now, the same trail as yesterday. Finally, as the sun fully rose, casting a golden glow upon the forest, I arrived at the edge of their land. He had told us that he had moved his pack into the pack house for their safety, an explanaton for how desolate his land looked.
