"I have this strong urge to kiss you." He said as his eyes flicked to my lips and then back to my eyes. I felt my heartbeat increasing and my knees were starting to feel weak by his closeness. I wet my lips, "Uh...no one is around. There is no need." I said through the lump in my throat. "I know, but I just want to." He said as he crashed his lips to mine. ~~~~~~ Emily Samuels was devastated when she found her boyfriend of a year cheating on her. She was angry and hurt that she swore she would never forgive him. View MoreThe bright light of the new day brought with it an umbrella of good tidings but Layla didn't feel the same.
She was forty minutes late for her new appointment. The same one she had worked so hard to get.
"God please help me," She prayed for the millionth time as she ran across the street and stepped into the large cooperate building.
As she got to the elevator, she tried to make her wild red hair look presentable by tapping her hands over it randomly.
As the elevator, dinged open, she took a long deep breath and stepped out.
She had been here before, the biggest cooperate firm in the City, White Wolf.
Ever since she broke up with Jake, this had become her lifelong goal. Not only that, White Wolf paid higher than every employer. With her financial state, this was the best thing that could happen to her just before she got thrown out into the streets.
To add to her misery her best friend Fey was diagnosed with chronic Ulcer. She needed a lot of money and there was nowhere else to turn to.
This job was the answer to all her prayers.
And now that she finally got appointed, she couldn't believe she was flopping it all up by being so late.
Why didn't her alarm wake her?
She wondered as the brain she was trying so hard to calm, returned to its chaotic state as she got reminded of the reasons why she needed this job like humans needed oxygen.
She rushed down the corridor to the departmental head's office —the same location she had dropped her files at the day before.
Without thinking she got to the last door on the left-hand side of the corridor and pushed the door open.
"I am so sorry that I am late. I was—" Her mouth hung open at the sight before her.
She did walk into an office alright, but it wasn't the departmental head she was looking at.
A handsome man sat on the table with his legs spread apart and there was a woman's head buried between his legs.
As much as Layla tried to turn away she couldn't bring herself to break the eye contact between this strange man and herself.
His stormy grey eyes seemed to pull her into him. It turned everything else into empty spaces and focused all its energy on her.
He looked like a movie star with his dark hair laying on the side of his head, just above his brows.
"Do not stop sucking!" His voice growled at the woman between his legs.
That was when Layla realized that the man was half-naked and the woman was topless, giving him a blowjob in the office.
Her motor senses returned to her and he turned immediately. "I am so sorry! I didn't see anything," she mumbled and ran out before the man could say something.
As she stepped out she held her racing heart and looked at the door once again, that was when she noticed it said, president.
"Oh, my God!" She whimpered almost losing her balance.
Did she just walk in on her boss having oral sex on her first day of work?
Beads of sweat formed on her head as she looked around, that was when she saw the door she had intended to go into.
Pulling herself together, she took a deep breath and hurried there. This time, she gave a soft knock before pushing the door open.
The departmental head, a young man in his late twenties, raised his head from his papers and glared at her.
"Good morning, sir. I am Layla. I was—"
"You are late." He hissed closing the files in front of him. He flexed his arm and checked the time on his wristwatch.
"Fifty minutes late on your first day," he added.
Layla felt like crying. There was no excuse she could give. There was no traffic and nothing extraordinary happened aside from the fact that she woke up extremely late.
She was cursed.
"I am sorry, this is very bad for business. I don't think we can employ you... I mean it is your first day!" He said with disgust rolling off his tongue.
Her heart sank for she knew she was completely doomed now. She went down on her knees and put her hands together.
"Sir, please. I was overwhelmed and I overslept... Please give me a chance," she begged not knowing what else to do.
Tears were already pooling in her eyes as she stared at the man, waiting for an answer.
The departmental head let out a loud sigh and then opened the files in front of him once again.
"We have a policy of not firing our workers on their first day at work, so what I can do for you is to let you stay for the week. If you impress me enough, maybe you'll get to stay..."
Layla felt like hugging the man. She jumped to her feet and moved closer to him but she restrained herself.
"Thank you so much. I promise to be here at the same time as the janitors! I will impress you!" She promised eagerly as tears of joy spilled down her face.
He took out a small pile from the files in front of him and passed it to her. "Here," he said. "I want you to review this and return to me before forty-five minutes."
"Okay, sir," she accepted joyfully.
Technically, it was supposed to be a punishment because no one could actually review so many files in forty-five minutes. But she didn't complain.
She took the files and moved to a corner of the office. She started reviewing them with determination and at the exact time, she submitted them.
Without raising his head, the man said, "Go to the canteen and get me two cups of coffee and when you return, you will complete some other reviews," he instructed. "Tell them it is for Smith. They know how I like it."
"Yes sir!" Layla chirped happily.
She jumped to her feet and walked out of the office.
She had to make sure the coffee was just right so that she could get back into his good graces.
But the bad luck she was meant to face that day, wasn't over yet.
Just as she picked up the coffee and made to move back to the elevator, she ran straight into a large wall.
The coffee spilled over, some falling over her face as well.
"Don't you ever look at where you are going?" The voice —the same one she had barged into filled her ears and she knew that she was doomed.
Four Months Later"Where are you and Stephanie going?" I asked Tori. She was sitting at her dresser, brushing her hair, while I was laying on her bed.Tori stopped what she was doing and looked at me through her mirror. "Nowhere fancy. We're just going to the movies." She answered."That sounds like fun." I replied.Tori and Stephanie were officially together after four months of being in denial. It really did take a long time for them to finally come to terms with how they felt. Finally they dropped the whole 'just friends' charade. Also, I think it had to do with the fact that Stephanie was not out as a lesbian to her family as yet and she was slowly working through that. The only person in her family who had known at the time was her older brother. Now today, Saturday, they were going on their first date. Tori had asked me to come over to her house to help her pick out a nice outfit. Tori didn't want to admit it, but she was nervous to go on this date. This was her first time goin
"I don't have to ask why you two are holding hands and looking like a couple." Tori said as soon as she saw Tyler and I the following day.We walked over to where she stood. "Hello to you too, Tori."Tori smiled. "So you two are dating for real now, right?""Yes it's real." Tyler supplied wrapping his arms around me."I knew something was up all along. I was just waiting for you both to admit it. I've never seen fake dating looked so real before." She emphasized.I smiled at Tori's excitement. "Yes Tori, you were right.""Of course I was. I know a perfect match when I see one." She said proudly."Yes and I'm not letting her go so easily." Tyler added sending a wink my way."Awww," Tori sighed. "Tan Lindo." After a while she said. "Anyway, I hope you didn't forget that today is the girl's soccer team championship game.""Yes, I remember." I nodded. How could I? They had announced it in assembly yesterday."So, are you going?" She asked hopefully. "It's the last game of the season.""Of
Emily's POVMy parents went to bed early after dinner on Wednesday evening, so after I finished washing the dishes, I went up to my room earlier than normal. After turning off all the lights in the house, I went up to my room. When I entered my room, I heard my phone ringing. I walked over to my bed and took it up. Checking the caller ID, I saw that it was Tori. I lay on my bed and picked up the call."Hey girl. What's up?""Hi Emily. I'm just checking up on you. How are you doing?"I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion. "I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?""Emily, you didn't seem like yourself in school today. You spaced out a lot and I noticed you barely said two words. I was worried about you." She explained."Thanks Victoria, but really I'm good." I insist."Are you sure?""Well, I would be eventually.""Good. Don't worry about it okay? It will all work out. I know it will.""Thanks girl." I said grateful that she was trying to make me feel better even though what she was suggesting w
Tyler's POVAfter school on Wednesday, Seth and I drove into town where Seth picked up a few things. We also stopped at his uncle's antique shop for a small visit, but ended up being there for longer. On our way back, we decided to drive to a place where we usually hang out. It was an old abandoned playground that was a fifteen minutes drive from our school. We would normally come here to hang out before going home. It has been a while since we stopped here so we decided to do so today.Today wasn't any different than the other days we stop here. We were here for almost an hour now just chilling and talking about nothing in particular; just random topics. Seth was settled on top of a bench with his feet on the sitting area and I sat a few feet in front of him on a tree stomp with my back leaning on a tree. Most of the time we were talking however, I was a little distracted. I couldn't help it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop thinking about how things turned out with Emily
I was walking through the parking lot at school the next day when I heard someone called my name. I turned around to see Logan walking towards me."Can I talk to you for a bit?" He asked when he stood in front of me. I nodded my head and indicated for him to say what he's got to say. "I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry."I sighed. "Logan, you've told me this already. We've been through this and I'm tired." I interjected."No, I mean I'm sorry to be coming at you and forcing us to get back together." He clarified. I stared at him, shock by his apology. "I've listened to what you said the last time we spoke and you're absolutely right.""Really?" I was really surprised about this sudden change. He nodded. "Yes. I wasn't being fair to you by forcing what could never be.""You're right, you weren't." I agreed. He winced at my words. "I know and I'm really sorry about that. You deserve better."I was watching him closely wondering if he was messing with me, but I didn't hear any humo
"Hey, where's Tyler?"I turned from my locker towards the voice. I saw that it was Seth who was behind me.I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know. I don't think he's here as yet."Seth watched me with a confused expression. "When I saw you, I thought he was here. You guys always come together.""I left home early this morning." I stated before bringing my voice to a whisper. "And besides, we don't need to come to school together anymore now that our fake dating has come to an end.""Are you serious?" He asked in shock."Yeah. What did you expect?" I asked confused by his shocked expression. "And what's the big deal anyways? You should have known that it was going to come to an end sooner or later.""Yeah but..." He said trailing off.I finished getting my books from my locker and closed it. Turning to face him once again, I lifted my eyebrows at him in question. "But what?"He shook his head. "Nothing.""Right." I said brushing aside Seth's weird behaviour. "Well, I've got to get to c
