Chapter Twenty-Four

I was so shocked that I yelled his name. When his eyes met Cole's, he had an angry look plastered across his usually expressionless face. I glanced over at Cole to see if he was as surprised as I was but instead he had a devilish grin on his face. He knew, he knew that Asher worked here, that's why he brought me here. I should've known something was wrong when he suggested we dined at a fancy restaurant like this. My blood began to boil as I realized that this wasn't a 'date' date, this was a 'make Asher jealous by going out with Alex to his workplace' date.

"Let's move to a table outside." I said, not meeting his eyes because he would surely convince me to stay, and I would give in.

"But Alex I-"

"I'll have a table ready for you in a minute." Asher said before leaving.

"Hey." He called, but I didn't answer. "Alex." I wish he'd get that I was angry.

I heard indistinctive whispers coming from outside the door then someone other than Asher came in an
