Chapter Twenty Three

The ride down to the house was silent. When he got there, he met Alice and Laura talking

“Tell me you found Roland’s son!” Jared said

“We did but there is a problem” Alice said to him

“Oh, fuck. What is the problem?” Jared asked

“The boy is dead. He was found right here in the valley. Roland was right all along. Someone had his son and now the boy is dead. We have to find a way to get Roland before he gives his approval to the witches!” Laura said

“Where is the body now?” Jared said

“It is on the way back to the blue moon valley. Roland’s men got to it before I did. When I got there, his men were already wrapping him up. That would be a big issue for all of us” Laura said

Jared turned to look at Xavier

“Get Roland in the phone. He must be grieving his son right now. If I have a chat with him, I might be able to get through to him. He looks like a very reasonable person. If he can see things from my side, things might be easier for us on this side” Jared said
