Lorena POV

In that moment, I wished I could just dig a hole and disappear. There's nothing more embarrassing than getting caught lying on the spot.

Seth, the subject of the conversation, leisurely walked over with his long legs.

"Seth, I don't believe you would really kiss her. She must be bragging. Haven't you always liked Nola?" Rosanne wanted to expose my lie right then and there. "Nola is talented and knowledgeable. You can't compare to her even in a single strand of hair."

Seth ruffled Rosanne's hair and held my wrist with his other hand. My body stiffened, and I looked up at the man beside me. His handsome face was lowered, with his gaze as deep as jade. As our eyes met, my cheeks blazed with heat, and I quickly looked down like a quail.

Rosanne was defiant. "Seth, I'm an adult too, just like Lorena."
