Abducted

Iris' POV

“Iris, I've got to take this call,” Arthur said, his eyes fixed on me, waiting for a response, so he could leave me in line.

Since he said it was a quick call, I nodded, but just seconds after he stepped away from me, I got the idea that he wasn't going to be back on time, and I was worried that I was going to keep the other customers waiting because I wasn't with any cash.

Besides, all the things I picked up would sum up to a significant amount, which I wouldn't be able to pay.

I could still see Arthur, and even when I tried calling his name severally, he didn't turn back to look at me, he was in a rush. I kept shut because calling his name only brought my attention to myself.

The eyes of people glared at me, wondering if I was mentally derailed.

I gulped down the nervousness, I was feeling due to the eyes of the people who were staring at me. They seemed really mean, and impatient, I would rather not be the one who would have to face them.
