Chapter 10

4 years later,

"Adi, come with me fast," Rohan said and started pulling Adi from his chair.

"Can't you see I'm studying. Don't disturb me" scolded Adi.

"Idiot, I'm not taking you to play with me. It's Meera..”

"What Meera? What happened to Angel?" Adi asked, leaving his books.

"When I was coming here to ask for your notes I saw Me-Meera in...in the garden..cr-crying…”

Adi immediately ran from there leaving Rohan behind. He reached in the garden and saw his Angel crying. He kneeled in front of her.

"Angel, what happened, why are you crying?" Adi asked, cupping her cheeks in both hands.

"It hurts Adi," Meera replied, hugging him tightly.

"Hurt where? Angel, tell me please" Adi pleaded trying to check her body for any injury but Meera was hugging him tightly.

“I think she hurted her knee while playing here,” Rohan said, noticing her bleeding knee.

Adi closed his eyes unable to see his Angel in pain. He tried again to move but Meera just hugged him more tightly.

"Please Angel, let me see your wound. Your Adi will make your pain go away. Please Angel let me" Adi said, caressing her back.

Meera loosened her hold but didn't move her face from his chest. Adi looked at her knee bleeding.

"Angel, we need to go inside to treat your wound. Just move a little, I’ll piggyback you" Adi said softly, cupping her face.

Meera nodded and Adi turned his back towards her. Meera put her hands around his neck and Adi gave her piggyback ride to his room. He gently made her sit on the bed. 

"Can you get a glass of water for Angel?" 

Rohan nodded and left to get water from the kitchen. Adi then went to the washroom and came back with a medicine box.

"Angel, it will hurt just a little," Adi said and started cleaning her wound gently.

Meera hissed in pain but didn't move her leg from Adi's hold. Adi closed his eyes to stop his tears from shedding.

"Angel, do you remember when Dad took Rohan and Shreya with us to the zoo, we saw a monkey there who looked like Rohan."

Meera immediately scrunched her face cutely. She clapped her hands when she remembered. 

"Yes but Rohan bhai pointed out it looked more like Shreya then she ran behind him to beat him" Meera laughed.

"You remember what other animals we saw there?" 

"Yes, I remember everything, Adi. We saw a bear and you told everyone that Aditi Di is fat like him" Meera said laughing.

"Then we went to see elephants. They were so big" Meera spread her both hands showing how big they were.

"And it's done,'' Adi said, putting a bandage on her wound.

Meera looked at him then at her wound and gasped.

"Adi, when did you clean my wound? I didn't feel any pain."

"That's what I wanted. I told you I will make your pain go away so I did." Adi rubbed his thumb on her dried tear marks.

"Adi, you are my magic man. You make everything right." 

Adi then cupped her face and kissed her forehead. Then again gave her piggyback ride to the washroom and gently made her sit beside the bathtub. With a wet towel he wiped her face and then cleaned her hands and legs.

"Angel, just wait a second here I'm coming back with your clothes" Adi said, caressing her head.

Adi took out a dress for Meera from his closet. Half of Meera's clothes are always in Adi's room because she lives in his room more than she lives in her room that she shares with Aditi.

"Angel, are you still feeling pain?" Adi asked, coming inside the washroom.

"No. I'm fine now. Your magic worked. There is no pain" Meera replied, showing her leg to him.

Adi shook his head and said "Angel, what I told you about lying to me?"

Meera looked at him and then looked down.

"There is still a little pain in my knee but Adi your magic really worked. Trust me."

"I know Angel, my magic never fails but it works better when you tell me about your pain honestly. So never hide your pain from me. Promise me you will always come to me when you are in pain" Adi said kneeling in front of her and extending his pinky finger towards her.

"I promise, I will always come to you." Meera intertwined her pinky with his.

"When you finish wearing them call me I'm just outside and don't move more than needed" Adi said handing her clothes.

Meera nodded and Adi closed the door behind him. After a few minutes Meera called him, he laid her in his bed and covered her with a blanket. When Adi started moving away from her, Meera held his hand.

"I'm just going to check why Rohan didn’t come with water. I'll be back in 5 minutes. Can I?” Adi asked softly and when Meera nodded he left to find the friend.

Adi entered the Kitchen and frowned not finding Rohan there.

“Rohan..where are you?” Adi asked in the air.

“Here” Rohan waved his hand from beside the fridge.

“What are you doing…” Adi stopped himself asking further. He raised his brow seeing his friend eating ice-cream.

“I really came here to get water but you know ice-cream is my weakness...” Rohan said sheepishly.

“You can eat what you like except strawberry flavour, it’s Angel’s favourite. I’m going to my Angel.” Adi took a glass of water and left his friend to finish his ice-cream.

It was evening when Radhika, Anita and Aditi came back from their shopping. Amar also came back from his office at the same time.

"So how was your shopping, princess?" Amar asked Aditi.

"I had so much fun, Dad. Grandma and Mom bought me many new dresses and then we also went in the playzone. I met my school friend there, we played so many games there" Aditi replied excitedly.

"You didn't buy anything for Adi and Meera." 

"We bought ice-cream for them." Aditi showed the ice-cream bag to him.

"But where are they? We thought we would find them playing but it’s so quiet” Anita said.

"Mohan, where are the children?" Radhika asked Mohan who was serving tea to them.

"They are in the young master’s room. I went to the market to buy some spices and when I came back he told me Meera baby got hurt so he will be with her in his room" Mohan informed them.

“What ? My little girl got hurt...how?” Amar stood up from his seat.

Radhika and Anita also stood up worriedly. Just then Adi came downstairs with Meera. He gently let Meera sit first then sat beside her.

“Adi, how did this happen?” Radhika asked, pointing towards Meera’s bandaged knee.

Adi told them everything without leaving anything.

"Don't worry, Mom, I'm fine now. Adi, did his Magic and made the pain go away" Meera said to Anita who was peppering kisses on her face.

“You are not lying, right?”

“No, Mom”

“No pain?”

“No pain, Dad.”

Anita came inside Aditi and Meera's room to wish them goodnight.

"Where is Meera?" Anita asked, confused.

"Mom, after what happened today where will she go?" Aditi asked, shaking her head.

Meera came inside Adi's room and stood beside Adi's bed. Adi without opening his eyes shifted to make space for her. Meera lied beside him and Adi hugged her from behind.

"Sleep Angel. I'm here."
