Torn

     Anna was surprised and shocked that Evelyn hung up on her. She thinned her lips trying to suppress her anger.

       ""After all that she did, she still hangs up on me?"" 

     She banged the table, ""I did a bad thing. I blamed all my losses on the poor guy."" She held her head.

        ""Evelyn is the cause of everything. How could I not see that? Now he has lost his job because of me."" She palmed her face.

         ""I have to find him and apologize to him, no matter what."" She resolved.

      She dialed a number and the person at the other end picked it up instantly.

          ""Hello?""

        ""Hello? Ma'am, how may I be of help to you?""

        ""Hey Nelson, I need your help."" She said.

      ""Yes ma'am?""

       ""Could you come over? I think it is better if I explain it to you in person."" She sighed.

      ""Okay ma'am, I am on my way."" 

         She hung up.

      Some minutes later, the doorbell rang. Anna rushed with expectation to the door. 

           ""Come in, Nelson."" She said.

        ""Thank you ma'am."" He said and walked into the room.

         ""So can you give me a detailed explanation now?"" He sat down.

         She nodded, ""Well actually, there is this guy I want to track, but I do not really know anything about him.""

          Nelson arched his brows, ""Nothing at all?""

       ""No. I fired him, well, because of some issues and I can not seem to get his address because I did not take any of his data."" She exhaled.

        ""Mmh, you do not have his picture?"" He asked again.

        ""I do not have anything relating to him. He only got to work with me a few hours, and then I fired him.""  Each time she said that, a pang of guilt would hit her hard.

        ""Okay then, describe what he looks like. I will try to match your description to anyone who matches it."" He crossed his fingers.

           She described him to Nelson.

         ""Okay ma'am, I will try matching this description."" He said.

        Anna nodded, ""Thank you so much Nelson, I appreciate your help."" She smiled.

          ""No problem ma'am. I will try my best then to find this guy.""

        ""Please could you be a little quicker with this? I really need to find him."" She crossed her fingers nervously.

         ""I will not promise you on the speed, but I will definitely try my best."" He nodded slowly.

           ""Okay, thank you very much."" Anna gave a sigh of relief.

          ""I will give you an upfront payment to hasten your findings."" She assured him.

       A smile played at the corners of Nelson's lips, ""Consider it done ma'am."" He smiled.

          ""Please do something about it. I really offended him and I need to apologize to him."" She closed her eyes and exhaled deeply.

        ""I will do my best, ma'am. Do not worry about anything."" 

        ""Okay, if you say so."" She sighed.

       He stood up, ""I should get going then."" 

      She also stood up and shook him, ""Thank you so much Nelson. I appreciate that you came at such short notice. I am sorry."" She laughed nervously.

          ""No worries ma'am, it is my job."" He said.

         ""I will take my leave now."" He said and left.

       Anna sighed out of relief again, ""I hope he finds him soon. I really have to make it up to him."" She held her chest.

          She closed her eyes for a minute and sighed deeply. 

          A hand touched her shoulder, she was startled and turned. It was her mother.

         ""Oh mother, it is you. You startled me."" She held her chest.

          ""Anna, why was a private investigator here?"" She creased her brows.

        ""That is because I needed him to find that guy. None of those websites worked because I do not have any information about him."" She said.

         ""Oh, a private investigator would help?"" She raised her brows.

         ""Yeah, that would be faster, and definitely I will get results from him."" She nodded confidently.

          ""I hope this method of yours works.""

          ""I hope so too Mom, I will make sure I make it up to him when I find him."" She smiled slightly.

          ""That is my girl. Now, can you have your lunch now?"" Bella smiled.

         ""Oh yeah, I will. I am starving."" They laughed and both walked to the dining room.

         ""Have your lunch my dear, I will be right back."" Bella kissed her forehead and left the dining room.

         Anna sighed and began to eat.

         A few minutes later, Ralph barged into the dining room. He was obviously annoyed as he stormed in. He banged the table angrily.

          Anna looked at him and frowned deeply.

       ""Can you not see I am having my lunch here? Why are you banging the table?"" Anna asked, pissed off.

         ""Did you really fire that new assistant of yours?"" His eyes darkened.

           She arched her brow, ""How does that matter to you?"" She folded her arms.

            ""Answer me!"" He yelled.

          She stood up, ""You can not just barge in here and expect me to just answer your questions just like that!"" She fired back at him.

          He nodded and smirked, ""You are trying to act smart, huh? Answer my question Anna, did you fire him or not?""

        ""Yeah, I did. I fired him."" She squinted her eyes.

           He twisted his lips and nodded slowly.

       ""You decided to act foolishly, Hun? Why did you fire him?"" He asked, beginning to get irked.

         ""Why I fired him is none of your business!"" She eyed him angrily.

         Ralph was enraged, he walked across the dining room and attempted to hit her.

          ""Stop that Ralph, what are you doing?"" A voice asked.

         They both turned and saw Katherine, their sister, staring at them with disappointment in her eyes.

          ""Ralph, you really wanted to hit her?"" Katherine asked in disbelief.

         Ralph growled and stepped backwards, still fuming.

          Katherine walked up to them, ""What is going on here?"" She asked, looking at both of them.

           ""You should ask him!"" Anna pointed at Ralph.

        Katherine faced him, ""What happened Ralph, why were you about to hit her?""

         Ralph looked at both of them and shook his head, he walked out of the dining room, leaving them to gawk at him in surprise.

          Katherine looked at Anna, ""What happened?"" She creased her brows.

         ""I honestly do not know. He just barged in here and asked me if I had fired my former personal assistant."" She sighed.

        ""Personal assistant? You had a personal assistant?"" Katherine's eyes widened in surprise.

          ""Yeah, father got me one, but I fired him."" She held her head.

           Katherine blinked in surprise.

         ""Who is this guy?""
