Chapter 43: Queries

“Aries?” I suddenly voiced out. Not sure if it was me who spoke, or the other voice inside me. When I realized what I just called him, I immediately gagged my mouth with my shaky hands. Why is this voice bothering me again?

“What did you call me?” He pondered, giving me a menacing look. “You’ve also called me by that name the first time we met. Who is this Aries? I’ve been having nightmares with a little girl crying out that name to me.” He seemed confused and exasperated while his right hand was gripping frantically at the wooden barricade. Even though it’s only the moonbeam that gives light to the night, I could clearly see the veins protruding on his hands.

“S-So you’re also having recurrences about this name?” I asked warily. Just wanting to confirm we’re on the same boat.

“Yes.” He responded firmly.

I was astonished for a moment. So there’s probably a crucial possibility that this man and Aries are connected. But how? As much as I remember, that boy is not a witch but Amaris is.
