It’s been a week since Vivar died. Druji is still crying every night in her sleep. She hasn’t moved on yet. And when she’s awake, we would catch her staring blankly into nothing. Queen Morrigan is already worried she might completely lose her mind for blaming herself about Vivar’s death. She hasn’t talked to me yet ever since that time she asked me to help her avenge Vivar’s death. And I haven’t talked to Caius as well ever since he confessed to me that day. I still can’t believe it. I don’t know how to respond to him and I knew myself that I cannot reciprocate the feelings he might have for me. It doesn’t make sense. He used to loathe me. Why did he suddenly have feelings for me? Where did it come from?

I shook my head, trying to diminish that thought. There’s something more important that I need to do rather than thinking how I can reject the prince without hurting him. I can already move my body like I used to and it’s amazing how quickly I recovered without any medicines. I need t

"He's the son of our mortal enemy. How could you think that he'll help you? Have you been completely manipulated by that man?" He snarled. He turned his back and let out a deep sigh. "I was just anticipating.. that maybe..""No!" He cut me off."Caius. You can't judge Amaris just because he's a witch. He has a big heart too, so I can't blame Nemiah if she thought of asking help from him." The queen somehow got my back. But Caius didn't like it. He became furious about it. "Not you too, mother. He's just making a facade so he can catch all of us once he gets a chance." He retorted. I guess he'll never trust Amaris no matter what good that person will do. I don't understand why he's so infuriated about him to death. He turned to me again with his hands on his waist. "You are not asking for help from that person. Better stay here and I'll go look for that scroll instead." "You don't understand, Caius. It has to be me." I tried to persuade him but he didn't budge. "Uhm.. Excuse me." Kuu

The sky seemed silent with the after rain ambiance and sunset. Red sunbeams lit through my face and somehow hurt my eyes. I covered my face with lace around my neck. This may help me hide my identity but I guess they’ll recognize my tiger anyway. I could feel myself drifting off to the gusting wind brushing through my face. I missed this feeling. But this isn’t like before that we’re just running for a stroll. We’re running to save some lives. I want to convince myself that I can do something despite being unsure how. They believe that I am the chosen one so I gotta impose that on myself and figure out how I should resolve this chaotic world. Not far away, I saw a glimpse of shadows coming towards our direction. Namir halted and we hid along the thick bushes behind us. We peeked through the spaces between the leaves to see if they had spotted us. I noticed Namir fidgeting like he’s smelling something and he’s trying to track where it’s coming from. “What comes into your brittle mind

Before I knew it, I was already being led somewhere with my hands tied. I didn’t know what he did to Namir but I couldn’t feel or hear my tiger with me. I can’t see through the black cloth blindfolded to my teary eyes. All I could remember is that the mad man injected something to Namir and my tiger lost consciousness. I wonder where I am right now. I could hear some other girls weeping and begging to be released. I felt the rocky path under my bare feet. Could this be the way to Dubheasa’s fortress? “Move faster!” I heard a husky voice behind me. Was he referring to me? But when I felt a rough hand pushing my back, it was confirmed. Wherever this place we’re heading to, I have a bad feeling about it. How I wish for Amaris to rescue me here. I know these witches belong to him too. But I’m sure he won’t like it when he finds out I got caught. I just have this feeling that we’ve known each other for a long time. Aries!I shook my head. A young girl’s voice suddenly echoed that name

Though I was wearing a lavish silk gown, I feel horrible for the fact that I’ll be given as an offering to their ugly master. It made me sick and wanted to flee out of that nasty place. I’m currently being dragged by two brawny bald guys to what they called “the master’s chamber.” I kept struggling though I knew I couldn't handle their strength. My whole body is already anxious that I can’t focus on making a strategy to get away from this dreadful nightmare. When we reached a shabby bifold door. The guy holding my left arm started to knock twice. “The dinner is ready.” He announced.I was dismayed by what I just heard. “What dinner are you talking about? I’m not a food you awful witches!” I tried to break free from their grips, hoping I could get a small chance to slip, but they didn't even budge. “Let go of me! I’m not entering that disgusting room!” I shouted right in their ears.“Don’t struggle anymore, you need to embrace your fate. You should be thankful the master fancy you or

“D-Do you really have to kill him?” I stuttered as I gaped at the slaughtered witch’s body. His eyes were wide open and blood oozed out his mouth, running to his body to the floor. It was such a terrible and disgusting sight. This is the second time I saw a brutal death. Amaris is really ruthless, but what’s more concerning is that I don’t care about it.“I will kill whoever I want to kill,” he responded with a proud grin. “But it’s weird you don’t look scared to me now, unlike before.” He added, as he stared intently at my eyes. But then I remembered my tiger, Kuu and Caius. “Have you saved them? Are they alright? Have you also seen my tiger?” I warily asked him.“Yeah. Kuu has gotten back safely to the cave.” He plainly answered. "And I've also carried your frail tiger. Why is that cat so feeble by the way? He wasn't even able to handle this pig." He insulted my tiger."Hey! That witch was just tricky. He injected something to Namir. We're supposed to flee if only that perverted wit

(Earlier before Nemiah got caught.)Amaris sprinted from tree to tree and observed the village people in turmoil as the dark shadows and witches were capturing their victims. These witches were mainly catching young females to make them slaves. Amaris knows that they don't have interest in taking children but they're cruel and just slaughter anyone for fun. From a distance, he saw Caius and Kuu hiding beneath an abandoned house. They were sneaking through the cracks on the bricks to check what the witches were doing. "Look at that arrogant prince. Poor thing. Now that his right hand is dead, he's just hiding like a scary cat." Amaris shook his head and made a pitiful facade. He jumped off right behind them, catching them off guard. He laughed as soon as he witnessed Caius' terrified face. "Surprise," he snickered."Big brother!" Kuu ran out to Amaris and gave him a hug. Amaris messed up his hair and pulled him away."I told you not to go outside the cave and trade these eggs for m

Dazed I was, as soon as I saw a glimpse of the interior. It seemed modernized unlike the houses and palaces I’ve visited in this place. It was just a small expanse like that of a minimalist house. There’s a wooden loft bed beside a round window, girded with flower ornaments. There’s a small chimney made of firebricks. There’s a small round table in front of it and it was full of meals that I guess Gili has prepared. I was lured by the mouthwatering smell of the roasted turkey at the center of the table. There was also a platter of pasta that seemed like alle vongole and banana loaves. It’s the first time I saw this menu in this place. Compared to the food I’ve dined with the royal family, this is simply extravagant. So this means witches are even richer than them?Oh, well. They have magic anyway. That explains things.“Hurry! While the food is still warm.” Gili gestured his hand to the table. There were just throw pillows around the table. The wool carpet on the floor seemed so good

"We need to talk. I've got so many questions for you, dummy." Amaris pondered.I was still staring blankly at the giant rock blocking the passage, thinking how I could get away from being alone with Amaris. "Hey? Are you listening?" Amaris called.I immediately turned to him, wondering why he suddenly raised his voice. I guess I heard him say something but I was too occupied with fear and didn't understand."Yes?" I gasped."Why are you just standing there?" He sounded irritated now. “Did you somehow enjoy the food that Gili prepared for you?” He added.“Yeah,” I gasped.“Great. But why do you look stiff? It’s like I’m gonna eat you. Are you scared of being alone with me here?” He scowled. It’s really awkward being alone with him. "W-Why? What am I supposed to do?" I stuttered, confused. He rolled his eyes and stood from his seat. He approached me and snatched my hand to drag me somewhere. My heart was thumping audibly as I felt the odd comforting warmth of his hand. Come to think of

The crescent moon shone brightly on the open window of my room. The night sky looked so peaceful and Caius was standing there, watching the spectacular view. But seeing Caius's dropped shoulders, I knew his thoughts were clouded tonight. "Can't you choose to stay?" He asked in a melancholic tone, still has his back on me.I bit my lower. I can't. Well I don't know how I'm gonna get back to my real world but once my mission here is done, I'll probably be gone in this place. And I don't really belong here. I have a family in my real world who are waiting and might be worrying about me by now."I'm sorry, Caius. I can't." I gasped, almost sounding like a whisper. He took a deep breath, loud enough for me to understand that he wasn't happy about my response. He slowly turned around, trying to make a smile. "Maybe the place you really belong to is so beautiful and peaceful that you don't want to stay here." He muttered."Well…" I paused for a moment to look at his sullen eyes. "It's not t

"You're dazzling, honey!" Queen Morrigan clasped her hands in awe as she looked at me from head to toe. The dress perfectly fit me like the sewist seemed to know the exact measurements of my body, though nobody came to take measures.I turned around as I stared blankly at the mirror. The queen helped me a lot with all the undergarments. Though it looked so lavish, the weight of the fabrics were a bit uncomfortable. She also fixed my curly hair with golden pins. The messy bun perfectly matched the shape of my face. It looked elegant in a simple way. I didn't know the queen had such a talent for this. I thought it's her maids that style her all the time. "Let me put some tint on your face. You're looking a little pale. Are you sure you're already feeling better?" She took my hand and guided me to the couch to let me sit. "Yes, your highness." I forced a smile to convince her.She stared at me for a moment before. Then she sighed giving me a simper. "Can you stop calling me like that?

I still haven't talked to Aries since they figured out I'll be leaving this place soon. He walked out as soon as I confirmed to them that what the elders said was true. Caius was also speechless about it. He wanted to talk to me but I refused. I wanted to take a break first. I'm overwhelmed with this situation. And now, the elders held a ball to celebrate my arrival. I'm already flustered with agitation due to my mission. And I'm dead worried about Aries. How am I going to explain everything to him? Now I regret not telling him the truth right away.*Knock*KnockI was awakened from my misery when I heard soft knocks on the door. I was currently in an extravagant room prepared by the elders for me. The entire room was as big as our townhouse in my real world. Every piece of furniture has a touch of gold, making me feel suffocated with the luxury around me. This doesn't help elevating the pressure strangling me now."Do you need help, Nemiah?" Queen Morrigan called from the other side o

"What's wrong?" Dubheasa wondered why her soldiers came back to the shore looking frustrated."The houses are empty." One of the soldiers reported."What do you mean empty? Where will the people who live there go?" She snapped. "W-We searched each house but no one we're there. They left all their belongings but no one was found." The other shadow uttered in a trembling voice."What?! There's no way they've already escaped. How would they know?" The veins on her forehead showed how much she was enraged at the moment. Unconvinced, she sprinted to the village and checked some of the houses herself. She got more furious each time she wrecked the door and no one was inside. She tried to contemplate what could have happened. "Amaris. That ungrateful idiot!" She growled. She couldn't think of any other reason for the people to know about her conquest. Only Amaris knew she was going to attack the village tonight."Find them in every corner of this island and kill them! They have no other pla

The sky was dark and thunderstorms roared synchronizing with the heavy gushing of the rain. It was supposed to be a glorious day for Dubheasa but the weather doesn't seem to cooperate with her plans. She slouched on her throne while distressingly pressing her temples with her fingers. She was waiting for an alternate plan to destroy the village."My queen. The rain still hasn't stopped. Should we wait for it to cease before we proceed with the plan?" One of her soldiers came in to report. Dubheasa threw a sharp glance at him, making his body tremble in fear. He decided to bow his head to avoid the eye contact."Hasn't Jack come back yet?" She asked in a cold voice. Little did she know, the man she's waiting for has already turned into ashes."N-Not yet, your highness." The servant stuttered in fear."What could have happened to that old man? I just asked him to spy on Amaris and they both haven't returned yet." She straightened her back and took a deep breath. (While Nemiah and her allies were stuck in the mansion..)Druji was feeling dizzy, keeping her eyes on her mother as she walked back and forth near the entrance of the cave. The anxiousness was written all over the queen's face as she took glances at the entrance, hoping the people she's waiting to return would show up anytime now."Mother, you've been like that for an hour already. Please calm down. Maybe they couldn't return yet due to the incessant pouring of the rain." Druji stood from her seat and stopped her mother from wandering around."I just can't help it. It's almost dark and there's still no news from them." The queen fretted, her hands were trembling as she clasped and unclasped them."Your highness. Aries is with them so don't have to worry. They're probably on their way now. Let's just wait here." Gili sighed as he watched the pouring rain outside. He knew that Dubheasa and her armies might be on their way now to destroy the village. He's also wondering why they haven't

"Let's get inside, Nemiah. Everyone is waiting for you." Caius took my hand, about to lead me back to the portal."Hang on. How about the queen and the kids? I thought we're going to save the people too?" Aries pondered."The guy who welcomed us said that they're already inside. I haven't checked, though." I informed him. I began to wonder how they took the people and convinced them to come. I'm really curious about that place.Aries's forehead creased as soon as he heard me. He seemed faltered. I know he's also wondering how they're already inside. The rain almost stopped. Dubheasa probably has released her army to proceed with her evil plan. Just as I thought about it, the trees and nearby bushes rustled clamorously. "Let's get inside, Nemiah. I think Dubheasa's troops are already searching for us." Caius carefully looked around, tracing any shadows of the enemies."Aries. Come on!" I called him, who was also checking around."What did you just call him?" Caius's face dazed as he l

"What are you doing!" I was finally able to get my energy back. I pushed him as hard as I could. He started to faint and fell on his knees. He spewed some black pearls like that of what Druji has vomited when I touched her. It vanished in the air as soon as it touched the ground.I dashed to approach him and gently rubbed his back. "Are you feeling alright now?" I fretted. He raised his head and wiped his mouth with the back of his hands. Grinning at me, he said, "More than alright." Then his eyes lowered on my lips, making the blood rush throughout my body. I could feel my face burning so I quickly stepped away from him."Pervert," I grumbled to myself as I touched my lips with my shaking fingers. "Why did you do that? You could have just touched me." I complained. Amaris chuckled as he got up and dusted off his pants. "Because I want to remove the curse that way. It worked perfectly though.""I shouldn't have stepped out for you.""But you did. Why did you?" He teased me, gliding s

“What is this place?” I jumped off the horse to get a better look at the breathtaking view of the paradise we were currently in. I heard everyone gasp in awe as they entered the portal. We were on concrete pavement and it was leading to a stunning white palace ahead. It was three times bigger and extravagant than that of Queen Morrigan's palace. Looking from afar, everything was painted in white and the windows seemed to be made of dazzling gold. What kind of people are living here? Or are they even people? This place is terrifically marvelous. I badly wanted to ask the horses since they're the one who brought us here. But it won't make sense since I don't understand them. I wonder if Namir could do that for me. I wandered my eyes around. There are thousands of white roses along the path. It looks exactly like what we have in Kuu's cave. Did those roses come from here? I could also hear the calming sound of a gushing falls somewhere. I wonder how this kind of bewildering place exists
