CHAPTER 54

OWEN'S POV

I watched her as she slept, an effect of the injection she received a few minutes ago. I smiled to myself as I recalled the last words she said to me before she fell asleep.

“You're that old?” She asked and my expression fell, I knew she was going to be disappointed in my age.

“You don't look like forty though. You sure know how to maintain yourself, I'll give you credit for that.” She complimented and a smile formed on my face.

“I'm sorry…” She suddenly apologized and I raised a brow in surprise.

“What for?”

“I know it isn't easy for you given that I don't remember you. I just want you to know that it isn't easy for me either. I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that I don't remember what happened two months ago and it's evident that I'm trying to take it out on you. I'm sorry about that.”
