CHAPTER 62

OWEN'S POV

The night was painfully long as I had held a trembling and scared Charlotte in my arms. It took a while before she finally fell asleep and I had to keep reassuring her that everything would be okay. But deep down inside of me, I was burning with anger.

Michael has crossed the line and I'd never forgive him for making her so scared and afraid.

The moment it started to get bright, I knew I couldn't wait to go to the police. I had to do something. I couldn't just sit back and watch while he terrified my wife. Stalking us was the biggest mistake he's ever made. Charlotte's safety was all I cared about.

I got out of bed quietly, very careful not to wake her up. If she knew I was doing this, she'd definitely get more worried, and she's been through enough already. As much as I wanted to let her know, I knew she'd beg me not to leave.

I took out a book from the table and wrote a message to let her know that I'm fine and that I needed to end this before it ended us. When I was done
