OWEN'S POV

I walked up to Charlotte as I took her hands in mine and gently caressed the ring on her finger.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” She pulled her hand from mine like she was repelled by my touch.

“I'm sorry… it has become a habit of mine to always take your hands in mine.” I confessed and she eyed me like I was a weird alien from space.

“Are you trying to mess with me, sir? It's evident from the way you look that you're a wealthy person and so you must have lots of work to do, right? Why then have you decided to find pleasure in toying with me?” She questioned, her tone full of accusation and frustration and I shook my head immediately.

“I'm not toying with you, Charlotte.” I started, my voice soft and gentle as I sat down in front of her.

“You lost your memory, that's why you don't remember me. We're married, Charlotte. Not like a regular marriage though, we got married through a contract.” I explained and her eyes widened as she stared at me in confusion and disbelief.
