Genesis
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows through the dense canopy of the forest. Leaves crunched underfoot as I sprinted through the underbrush, my breath coming in short, ragged gasps. The tall pines loomed overhead, their dark silhouettes merging into an almost impenetrable wall. Every few steps, branches clawed at my arms and face, but I pressed on, driven by a sense of urgency that outweighed the pain. A cool evening breeze whispered through the trees, carrying with it the scent of damp earth and pine needles. The rhythmic pounding of my heart echoed in my ears, a steady drumbeat that matched the rhythm of my footsteps. My eyes darted from side to side, scanning for any signs of movement, any indication that I was being followed. The forest was alive with sounds: the distant hoot of an owl, the rustle of small creatures in the underbrush, the creak of tree branches swaying in the wind. But beneath it all was an eerie stillness, a silence that seemed to grow heavier with each passing moment. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something, or someone, was out there, just beyond the edge of my vision. My foot caught on a root, and I stumbled, barely managing to regain my balance. I couldn’t afford to fall, not now. Not when I was so close. Up ahead, a faint light flickered through the trees, a beacon of hope in the encroaching darkness. It was the clearing I had been searching for, the place where I could finally stop running and make my stand. With a final burst of energy, I pushed myself harder, my legs burning with the effort. As I broke through the last line of trees and into the clearing, I was met with a sight that made my heart skip a beat. There, in the center of the open space, stood an ancient stone altar, its surface covered in strange, glowing runes. I slowed to a walk, my eyes wide with a mixture of fear and awe. I had heard the legends, the stories passed down through generations, but I had never truly believed them. Now, standing before the altar, I couldn’t deny the truth. I reached out a trembling hand, tracing the patterns of the runes, feeling the power that thrummed beneath my fingertips. I had found it. The heart of the forest. The place where my destiny awaited. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The beeping sound of my alarm brought me back to reality. “This dream again?”. I thought to myself. I’ve been having this same dream for weeks ever since I took up the post of the head archaeologist. It was probably a coincidence something. No one really understands dreams. I jumped out of bed and dashed to the bathroom. I was already running late for work. Apparently, my alarm was beeping for some time before I finally woke up. I dressed up really quickly and before I knew it, I was already on the 8am bus to work. My name is Stacie Phillips, and I reside in a quaint, centuries-old cottage on the outskirts of the lake District in Northern England. My days are often spent poring over ancient manuscripts analyzing artifacts and piecing together stories of the past. But lately, it’s been quiet. It feels like we’ve discovered and uncovered everything there was to. I still miss the thrill of field work, but for now, I’m stuck in my office working on documents and finances or whatever. Things that I never had interest in. I walked the into to Company and proceeded to the elevator to get on with my boring day of document sorting when Elijah stopped me. “Good morning boss!” “I told you not to call me that.” “Sorry boss. Anyways, I have news.” “I don’t think there’s anything you want to say that I haven’t heard yesterday” “Trust me, this is different.” “Alright. Shoot!” “So you know that we sent an excavation team to Transylvania”. Elijah started “They returned yesterday by around 4pm. You know, after you closed for the day.” “So what?” I retorted “How’s that any different? We send teams every month to different places and they never return with anything worth looking into.” “On the contrary, they found something different.” Elijah said with a smirk on his face. “Very different”. His excitement was now very visible on his face. I know that is not a guarantee that they found something that would interest me because everything gets him excited. He’s 21 but he acts 17. Always smiling, jovial and optimistic. He is honestly the only person left in this company that is still full of energy and enthusiasm. “Alright, lay it on me.” I grew rather impatient. “No more beating around the bush.” “Caleb-the head of the team we sent met with me yesterday.” Elijah started “To tell me the latest on the mission. As I am, you know- your PA.” “You’re not my personal assistant” I was quick to point out. “For now…” Elijah smirked like a little kid who was about to do something mischievous “They found the bones of an unknown animal. It was carnivorous, most likely a primate. It had short canines like that of a Cheetah and long claws like that of a wolf. An animal that I have never seen before in my life.” “Wow. So we could be on the verge of a new animal discovery?” I was now as excited as Elijah. “You’re right Elijah. This is great news”. I was about leaving when I heard Elijah’s voice again. “That’s not all” Elijah’s smirk had returned. “There were traces of human DNA found all over the bones. There was also on arrow found lodged within the creatures body. I thought it was a mere arrow used by the locals in the vicinity but judging from the exterior, I knew it was something different. We were about to remove the arrow for further analysis but decided to inform you first.” “Now I’m intrigued.” I smiled, eager to uncover more about the mystery unfolding before me. “Where was this body found?” “The bones?” Elijah asked “It was found in Hoia Baciu forest”. “Hoia Baciu forest?” I stammered “The one the large clearing in the middle?”. “Yeah…” Elijah said, obviously surprised that I knew that about the forest. “Have you been there before?” “No” I was quick to say. I wasn’t ready to start explaining an adventure I had in my dream to him because he’ll definitely make a big deal out of him and try to interpret the dream or something “Never mind. Just wait for me in the lab. I’ll be there in 20. I can’t afford to miss this chance to discover a new animal.” Elijah chuckled after he walked towards his desk. An image from my dream flashed in my mind. I saw the forest. The exact forest that I’ve been having dreams of for weeks is the forest that this creature came from. Could it be that this dream has been leading me to something? Something new, maybe even something supernatural… Nah… probably not. Damn I watch way too many movies.HeistDescending the narrow, dimly lit staircase. I couldn’t shake the feeling of anticipation coursing through me. The lab, buried deep beneath the facility, always had an aura of mystery, but today it seemed particularly charged with promise. Each step echoed off the cold, concrete walls, amplifying the silence and my excitement.I clutched my note book tighter, my fingers brushing against the cool metal of the rail. The new creature they found was unlike anything we’d ever encountered-a true enigma, defying classification. Though it was dead, the prospect of studying it’s remains sent a thrill through me. What secrets lay waiting in the depths below ?As I reached the bottom, the heavy door loomed ahead, a gateway to revelation. Taking a deep breath, I pushed it open, and the sterile smell of antiseptic and faint hum of machinery greeted me. The lab was a contrast to the eerie staircase- a pristine world of white coats, bright lights, and advanced technology. My company had a bit o
Incognito II The creature was in the figure of a man, but his features were strikingly different. He stood tall, around six feet, with a muscular build that exuded both power and grace. His skin had a subtle, dusky tone, and his eyes were a piercing, ice-blue that seemed to glow with an inner light. His hair, thick and raven-black, framed a face that was both rugged and handsome, with high cheekbones and a strong jawline. His hands, though human in shape, were tipped with sharp, retractable claws, and his movements were fluid and predatory. Despite his fearsome appearance, there was an undeniable allure to him, a magnetism that drew the eye and held it. His clothing, simple and well-fitted, highlighted his physique without concealing his lupine nature. Every inch of him exuded an air of danger and mystery, yet his expression, in that moment, was one of vulnerability. The creature whimpered in fear, his usually confident demeanor replaced by a haunting sense of dread. “Hurt you?
Incognito BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!I hit the alarm angrily and groggily reached for my phone to silence it. Rubbing my eyes, I begrudgingly swung my legs out of bed, annoyed at the early hour. Another day, another battle with the alarm clock.I went to the living room to confirm that everything that happened last night was not just a dream. Speaking of dreams, I didn’t get my reoccurring dream of that forest in Transylvania. Lucky me.I found out that Claud had discovered TV. He was just watching random Channels. Just like actual wolves, he learns fast.“Good morning.”“Good morning too?”“Yeah that’s pretty much right”“Did you know that there are tiny people in this box?” Claud was really excited to share his discovery with me. They keep doing things inside that box to make us happy. How do you feed them?”“Again Claud,” I said “They are not in that box. They were filmed, and are not in that box. They were filmed, so now they are just playing the recording of that film.”“So I can’t feed
ReunitionIn a heartbeat, he dashed towards them. The alleyway, dimly lit by a single flickering streetlamp, seemed to narrow as Claud closed the distance with inhuman speed. The five men, dressed in dark clothing and clutching crude weapons, barely had time to react. Their faces twisted in surprise and fear as Claud-seemingly ordinary just moments before-unleashed a savage fury upon them. His first victim was a burly thug holding a metal pipe. With a swift, almost effortless motion, Claud disarmed him, the pipe clattering loudly on the cobblestones. A powerful punch followed, sending the thug sprawling to the ground, unconscious before he hit the pavement. Two more of the assailants tried to flank him, coming at him from both sides. Claud spun around, his movements a blur. He caught one by the wrist and twisted it with such force that the snap of breaking bone echoed in the night. The man howled in pain, dropping his knife. Before he could react further, Claud’s elbow met his face, k
New TruthsMy whole life flashed before my eyes. This can’t be how I’ll die. I haven’t even kissed a guy yet, I haven’t been to San Francisco, I haven’t sky dived yet. There’s a lot I haven’t done yet. Come on Claud, wake up. Protect me. Please? I’ll buy you all the ice cream you want if I survive. Just as she was about to stab me with her nails, Claud came from nowhere and speared her away from me. You know, the kind of spear wrestlers do when they want to dispatch their opponent quickly.“What’s wrong with you, Claud?” His mom asked. “Has all that time you spent dead make you forget that you don’t stand a chance against me?”“I know you’re stronger, faster and maybe even smell better than me currently.” Claud said. Weird choice of words but if it saves my life, who am I to complain. “But…?” Mrs. Tara asked obviously expecting his speech to end better than that “Nah, that’s it.”“You were never good at motivational speeches.” Mrs. Tara said. “But I would not want to send you back t
New Truths II *** Claud’s P. O.V. ***My mom finally had her way. I was going to do what she said and have sex with two hundred and five ladies. I know a typical guy should be excited because I had never even kissed a girl before but I was just bothered. Stacie had heard everything. I really hope she doesn’t get upset and stops talking to me.“Claud,” My mother’s voice jolted me back to reality and away from my thoughts. “I’ve already crafted a timetable. You must be here on this floor everyday by 3pm. You’ll meet a different. Girl that you’re going to impregnate. The first lady is in that room. I would’ve given u some time to swallow this information but time is not on our side. The kids will still have to grow up and start training so the sooner, the better. I’ll be going downstairs to attend to some company matters. Knock yourself out.” After saying that, my mom entered the elevator and went down. Of course she had to go down, she could not go up anymore because we
The hunt beginsI got to the forest and started using my hunting skills to tracks down Stacie. I was navigating the forest like a tiger – stealthy and extremely quiet. You could not even hear me breathe. I soon got to a clearing, in the midst of it stood an ancient looking stone altar with it’s surface covered with strange glowing runes. Stacie was tied; hands and feet with her eyes blindfolded directly beside the stone altar. Surprisingly there was no sign of any werewolf at the scene. Maybe I should have called my mom for help. I stood there in the shadows, calculating my next line of action. After some minutes of contemplation, I decided to take the risk and attempt rescuing her, I went in with speed and caution. I knelt in front of her and then untied her hands and removed her blindfold. Because of the fear she was Feeling before now and the relief after she felt after seeing me, she hugged me and kissed me briefly before she started sobbing and punching me.“What took you so long
The hunt begins II *** Omniscient P.O.V. ***After all that happened at Hoia Baciu, Claud just went back to his mom at verdant. He knew that he had no other home to return to anymore so he had no choice but to go back to her. “You’re back early,” Tara said. “What’s wrong? You look blue.”“Sta…Sta..” Claud sobbed a little bit before finally finding his words. “Stacie’s dead mom.”“Oh my God!” Tara exclaimed in disbelief as she rushed towards Claud to comfort him. “What happened? Was she sick? Was there an accident? You’re not talking Claud, What was it? Talk to me, I’m your mother.”“It was forest werewolves mom.” Claud started. “They kidnapped her to lure me out and even though I climbed on the altar to help them create better hybrids, they still killed her.” “You climbed on the altar?” Tara started. “Hope they didn’t succeed.”“They didn’t succeed in removing my powers but unfortunately for them, activated my other powers.” Claud said, his voice still breaking. “So I killed
As Seraphiel and Orionis floated into the sky, Orionis glanced at Seraphiel with curiosity. “Why didn’t you take away Damien’s powers? That was the price for Matilda’s life, wasn’t it?”Seraphiel smiled, his gaze fixed on the stars above. “I saw something in him. There’s no one more deserving of the title of the chosen one than Damien.”Orionis chuckled softly, nodding in agreement. “I suppose you’re right.”“Just don’t tell Astrid yet. I hate it when she’s right. She’ll rub it in my face.”With that, the two celestial beings ascended higher, their forms disappearing into the night sky, leaving behind only the faint shimmer of their presence. The wind was harsh against Damien’s face as he walked back home. The air heavy with the scent of rain. The sky was an inky black, clouds hanging low, blotting out the moon and stars. A faint drizzle started to fall, tapping lightly on the ground, and he pulled his coat higher on his shoulder. His boots crunched against the gravel as he strolled
The end?The family of four walked slowly through the familiar streets of Riverdale, but this time, it all felt different. The trees seemed taller, the air crisper, as if the town itself had transformed while they were gone. Claud glanced at the cobblestone streets, feeling a sense of nostalgia pull at him. It was as if each house they passed, each flower blooming in a neighbor’s yard, held a memory waiting to be rediscovered. Lupa’s hand brushed against his, her eyes flicking around, taking it all in with a quiet smile. They hadn’t been gone for long, not even up to a week but somehow, coming back made it feel like an eternity had passed.Damien, walking just behind them, was unusually silent. Normally full of chatter, he now took in everything with wide eyes, as if seeing their hometown for the first time. Clary had fallen behind to inspect a cluster of daisies on the roadside, twirling one between her fingers before skipping back to the group. When they finally reached the fami
The Challenge of the ChosenDay 4As dawn broke on the fourth day, the sun’s rays pierced through the thick canopy, casting dappled patterns on the forest floor. The air was crisp, and the sounds of chirping birds filled the space around them. They packed up their campsite, the smell of charred wood still lingering in the air, a remnant of the stories shared around the campfire. After a quick breakfast of rations, they set off once more, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. Wulfric led the way, his expression serious as he felt the shift in energy around them.“Today will be different,” he warned, his voice low. “The trials will test the chosen one in ways we haven’t encountered yet. The challenge ahead will require not just strength but also wisdom and courage.”“How do you know so much about the chosen one and these trials?” Damien asked.“I’ve been studying these things for a long time because I’ve always craved having a place that we wouldn’t have to hide but be free to be ourselv
Journey to the unknown IIDay 3The morning fog hung thickly in the air, enveloping the forest in an eerie shroud. Unlike the gentle morning mist that usually lifted with the sun, this fog felt heavy and charged with ancient energy, as if the very trees were watching them. Each footstep Damien took sank slightly into the ground, a reminder of the trials ahead, testing their resolve as they ventured deeper into the woods. He glanced at his companions. Claud moved ahead, ever vigilant, his sharp gaze scanning their surroundings. Tara walked closely beside him, her posture alert and tense.“This feels different today,” Damien muttered under his breath.“It is,” Wulfric replied, glancing back. “We’re getting close.”As they continued, the path twisted and changed, narrowing in some places while expanding in others, as though the forest was shifting to confuse them. The trees seemed almost alive, their bark rippling subtly, pulsating with a rhythm that hinted at something deeper below.“Ke
Journey to the unknown.Day 1The pack moved in near silence as they walked through the dense forest, the only sounds being the crunch of leaves beneath their boots and the occasional rustle of branches in the wind. The forest was alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures, though none seemed to draw near. The air was cool, and the smell of damp earth and pine needles lingered as they pushed deeper into the woods.Damien led the way, Wulfric walking close beside him, while Claud, Tara, Lupa, and Clary flanked the rest of the pack. Wolves prowled in their animal forms, eyes glowing faintly in the shadows, while others remained human, their hands never far from their weapons. The further they walked, the more the forest seemed to change. The trees grew taller, their trunks wider and older, and strange glowing fungi dotted the bases of the trees, casting eerie light across the ground. The pack moved cautiously, alert but undeterred. After several hours of walking, the group suddenly c
ReunionsDamien moved through the dense forest, his footsteps muffled by the thick bed of leaves underfoot. The trees stood tall and imposing around him, their branches twisting like gnarled fingers above his head. Sunlight flickered through the canopy, casting scattered patches of light that danced across the forest floor. The air was cool and fresh, carrying the earthy scent of moss and pine. Every now and then, the sound of a rustling branch or distant bird call made his heart race, but he pushed the anxiety aside, determined to keep moving. The deeper he ventured, the more familiar the path became. He had been here before—just days ago. This was where he had encountered Wulfric, the mysterious figure who had saved his life and then disappeared into the woods. But Wulfric was more than just a savior. He was family. Damien’s grandfather, though that fact had only recently come to light. And now, after days of wrestling with the truth and the destiny Wulfric had spoken of, Damie
Hovering above him, Damien loomed closer, his eyes glowing brighter with every second, his chest heaving with the intensity of his anger. Stephan spat blood onto the ground, a faint smile curling on his lips despite the pain. “I guess… anger really does take a werewolf’s power to the next level,” he muttered, wiping more blood from his lip. His gaze sharpened as he stared at Damien’s cold, unyielding eyes. “But if you want a real fight… let’s make it more interesting.” With that, Stephan reached for the Eldershard crystal that hung from his neck. As his fingers curled around the amulet, the crystal pulsed with an ancient power. It began to glow, its silver light expanding outward, wrapping around Stephan like a cocoon. The energy crackled and surged through his body, and he let out a guttural growl as the crystal’s power fused with his very essence. The air around him began to shimmer, distorting with the raw energy being unleashed. Stephan’s injuries disappeared in an inst
Phase Three II Matilda soared through the sky, her heart pounding as she pushed herself to fly faster. The wind whipped through her hair, but her mind was focused on one thing: the Eldershard crystal. It was the key to everything—the only thing that could stop Stephan from carrying out his plan. Her father was fast, but she was determined to get there first. The hidden location was nestled deep within a mountain range, shielded by ancient magic. As Matilda approached, she spotted the faint glimmer of the crystal tucked away in the crevice of a towering rock. Without hesitation, she landed and reached for it. The moment her fingers brushed against the Eldershard, a surge of energy pulsed through her, warm and familiar. She held the crystal in her hands, feeling its immense power thrumming beneath the surface. It shimmered like a captured star, glowing with an otherworldly light. But before she could fully absorb its energy, a voice echoed from behind her. “Matilda.” S
After the meeting concluded, Orionis accompanied two celestial guards as they descended into the depths of the celestial prison. The shimmering hallways were lined with ethereal runes designed to keep even the most powerful beings contained. At the far end of the prison stood a door, shimmering with protective wards. The guards exchanged glances before opening it, revealing Stephan, the former arbiter, sitting in the dimly lit cell. His form was diminished, but his eyes still burned with an intensity that suggested his power had never truly faded. The guards unbound him, their expressions filled with distrust. As they stepped back, Orionis remained, his gaze locked on Stephan. The moment the guards were out of sight, Stephan stood and stretched, his joints cracking in the silence. He turned to Orionis with a smirk that sent a chill down the Stellar Guardian’s spine.“Phase two, complete,” Stephan said, his voice dripping with satisfaction.Orionis stiffened, his galaxies swirling in
