Heist
Descending the narrow, dimly lit staircase. I couldn’t shake the feeling of anticipation coursing through me. The lab, buried deep beneath the facility, always had an aura of mystery, but today it seemed particularly charged with promise. Each step echoed off the cold, concrete walls, amplifying the silence and my excitement. I clutched my note book tighter, my fingers brushing against the cool metal of the rail. The new creature they found was unlike anything we’d ever encountered-a true enigma, defying classification. Though it was dead, the prospect of studying it’s remains sent a thrill through me. What secrets lay waiting in the depths below ? As I reached the bottom, the heavy door loomed ahead, a gateway to revelation. Taking a deep breath, I pushed it open, and the sterile smell of antiseptic and faint hum of machinery greeted me. The lab was a contrast to the eerie staircase- a pristine world of white coats, bright lights, and advanced technology. My company had a bit of every thing. It had an archeology department, of I was the head of, a science laboratory department – The place where we ran tests on all the things we found, a machinery department-the place where we created our tech and things like that. My company was one of a kind. I don’t actually own the company, I’m just the head of archeology department, the heartbeat of the company, so I was pretty much in charge. I approached the containment area, my heart racing with excitement. The creature’s enclosure, shrouded in shadows, hinted at its unusual form. This was it– the moment of discovery, the chance to unravel the mysteries of a new life form. With a final steadying breath, I stepped forward, eager to begin the tests and unlock the secrets hidden within the lifeless body before me “I don’t know why have to wait for Miss Stacie. She has no business in the lab.” A Similar voice spoke. Even if I was in a coma, I’d always recognize that voice. It was none other than Mr. Matthews. Renowned in the scientific Community, he was a legend- a man whose name synonymous with ground breaking research and unparalleled expertise. Mr. Matthews had knack for uncovering the extraordinary, his keen eye and relentless curiosity pushing the boundaries of what we knew to be possible. His work had earned his accolades and respect nationwide. So basically, he was good at what he does. “Because Miss the body Stacie’s team discovered the body”. “Speak of the devil. So my lord, can start examining the body now?” Mr. Matthew said this sentence with so much sarcasm that it annoyed me but was I going to show my annoyance and accept defeat? Absolutely not! “Sure”, I started “But I must be informed of everything going on. I hate being left in the dark”. “Sure, whatever.” Mr. Matthews then opened the door and proceeded into the containment facility, his casual demeanor belying the significance of our task. The containment facility was a marvel of modern science. The walls, reinforced with layers of steel and tempered glass, ensured that even the most dangerous specimens could be studied safely. The air was cool and sterile, kept at a constant temperature to preserve the integrity of the specimens. Rows of containment units lined the walls, each housing a different subject of study. The units were equipped with advanced monitoring Systems, providing real-time data on everything from temperature and humidity to the slightest movements. In the center of the room stood a large examination table, surrounded by an array of high tech instruments and equipment. Microscopes, scanners, and a plethora of other devices were neatly arranged, ready to be employed in the analysis of the creature. Mr. Matthews moved with practiced ease, his hands deftly activating various machines and preparing the workspace. He glanced back at me, a glint of excitement in his eyes that mirrored my own feelings. “Let’s get started,” he said, his voice filled with the same anticipation that thrummed through my veins. Mr. Matthew was a tall and imposing figure, around 6 feet and 4 inches, with broad shoulders that hinted at a lifetime of hard work. His Salt-and-pepper hair was neatly combed, contrasting with his piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through you. Deep laugh lines etched his weathered face, suggesting a man who had seen much of the world and wasn’t smile through it’s hardships. His strong jaw and slightly crooked nose gave him a rugged, yet approachable appearance. Dressed in a tailored suit, he carried himself with an air of quick confidence, making him both respected and admired by those who knew him. Well, all except me. He was too proud and full of himself. So that basically turned me off and this was pretty much what started our rivalry. It isn’t really much of rivalry as he’s miles ahead of me but who cares? Mr. Matthew was running tests, Checking the machine’s for abnormality. Or whatever. I’m not too conversant with lab science so I have no idea about what he’s doing. He took out a piece of the creature and looked at it through a microscope. I saw him assemble his team. They were conversing just a few steps from where my ears could eavesdrop. After the discussion with his team, he immediately said that we should all leave. He felt that the creature was dangerous so he locked up his lab and put his security agents all over the place. “Can he really do that?” I asked Elijah “It is our finding actually?” “Yeah he can,” Elijah started “Our job is to find the things while his is to examine and find out the useful applications. We were not even supposed to be there. I guess he was just being generous.” “So much security for a dead creature.” “Yeah, it’s pretty suspicious.” Elijah started “Don’t you want to know why he Locked the place up?” “Hell yeah!” “Then let’s go in”. “No we can’t.” “Come on. You Can’t tell me you don’t want to touch it.” “I do but since he locked it up it must be really dangerous.” “Or maybe he wants to keep the discovery to himself.” “We can’t be sure.” “We can’t be sure because we haven’t gone in”. “Even if I’m on board, how do we even get in.” “I’m glad you asked.” Elijah grinned from ear to ear. “So there’s an air vent in your office that cut across the lab. I can use the blue prints as a compass. We’ll get in and out without anyone noticing. Even the guards are not allowed in the lab.” “What if we get caught?” I asked. “He’ll expect someone to try to get in.” “He won’t.” Elijah started. “There’s only one vent that cut across the lab in this whole company and it’s yours. Believe it or not, the only person that can get in is you and he won’t expect you to try to break in ‘cos you’re a bit of a nerd, Too upright to attempt a heist like that”. “I find that very offensive” “Sorry boss.” “But you have a point though.” “You’re down?” “I’m down. We just have to see this creature up close.” I started “We’ll meet again in my office by 8.” The night was a tapestry of silence. Its stillness only broken by the occasional whisper of the wind through the trees. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a soft, silver glow over the landscape, while stars dotted the heavens like scattered diamonds. Shadows stretched long and deep, painting the world in shades of midnight blue and black. The air was cool, carrying the faint scent of damp earth and distant pine. In the quiet, the subtle sounds of nocturnal life could be heard- a rustling in the underbrush, the distant call of an owl, the short ripple of a stream. It was a night that felt timeless, wrapped in a serene and mysterious calm. I entered the office through the back door and saw Elijah waiting at the door of my office. Elijah Stood tall at 6’2, his presence marked by a shock of vivid red hair that seemed to glow in the moonlight. His brown eyes, always twinkling with mischief, hinted at his jovial nature. Known for his sharp wit and infectious laughter, Elijah’s humor was a constant source of delight for those around him, making every moment in his company feel brighter. “Sup boss.” “Don’t call me that.” I proceeded to open the door and before I knew it, we were in. My office was a blend of modern design and personal touches. The large window behind my desk flooded the with natural light, offering a stunning view of the city skyline. Sleek, minimalist furniture in muted tones gave the space a professional look, while the bookshelves lined with an eclectic mix of novels and trinkets added sense of warmth and personality. A cozy reading nook with a plush armchair in the corner invited moments of quiet reflection amidst the hustle and bustle of the workday. The subtle hum of the air conditioning and the faint scent of fresh coffee completed the ambiance, making it a perfect blend of productivity and Comfort. Elijah climbed my table and gestured to me to use his hand as a boost to get to the vent on the ceiling directly above my table. He cupped his hands together and I put my feet on them he lifted me up until my hands could reach the vent cover. I opened it and went inside. He jumped and was able to get inside himself. He was taller than me with a good amount of inches. I was just 5’6 and considering that I was already 27 years old, it was clear that I had reached my final height. Elijah turned on his phone’s flashlight and started using the air vents’ blue prints as a guide to the lab. After crawling for some time, Elijah stopped and I immediately knew we were finally directly above the lab. He removed the grille and jumped down with it to minimize noise. He dropped the grille and spread his arms wide, reassuring me that he’ll Catch me if I jumped. I had second thoughts but was not planning to remain in the vents and watch him uncover my discovery so I jumped. He caught me and held me in the way those men in Indian movies held their girlfriends after singing and dancing. I stared into his mesmerizing brown eyes which complemented his soft silky red hair. My hands were on his shoulder sizing his enormous biceps. I knew he went to gym but had never felt him this close. Damn, he was hot but am I going to tell him that or view him as anything other than my younger brother? Absolutely not. It felt like he was holding me for same time but in reality it was just roughly 10 seconds. He dropped me and I proceeded to locate the creature’s pod. I found it in less than a minute. We took the bones out and started examining it. “Yo, it’s that arrow I wanted to exam Elijah said with excitement would you do the honor of taking it art?” “Sure.” I said, then held the arrow with Both hand’s before talking it out. Elijah to the arrow and started going on and on about the arrow being ancient and full of unknown technology or something, I wasn’t really paying attention. I was just staring at the bones which weren’t just bones anymore. Flesh was growing and covering the bones. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was as if that arrow was the only thing that was stopping this creature from regenerating. “Elijah! Elijah look!” “What is… Oh my God!” Elijah was shocked. “That thing is coming back to life!” “I can see that!” I shouted back. “What should we do?!” “You’re asking me?!” Elijah shouted. “You’re the boss! I should be asking you.” Please don’t hurt me.” The creature, now fully regenerated, whimpered in fear, speaking out for the first time.Incognito II The creature was in the figure of a man, but his features were strikingly different. He stood tall, around six feet, with a muscular build that exuded both power and grace. His skin had a subtle, dusky tone, and his eyes were a piercing, ice-blue that seemed to glow with an inner light. His hair, thick and raven-black, framed a face that was both rugged and handsome, with high cheekbones and a strong jawline. His hands, though human in shape, were tipped with sharp, retractable claws, and his movements were fluid and predatory. Despite his fearsome appearance, there was an undeniable allure to him, a magnetism that drew the eye and held it. His clothing, simple and well-fitted, highlighted his physique without concealing his lupine nature. Every inch of him exuded an air of danger and mystery, yet his expression, in that moment, was one of vulnerability. The creature whimpered in fear, his usually confident demeanor replaced by a haunting sense of dread. “Hurt you?
Incognito BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!I hit the alarm angrily and groggily reached for my phone to silence it. Rubbing my eyes, I begrudgingly swung my legs out of bed, annoyed at the early hour. Another day, another battle with the alarm clock.I went to the living room to confirm that everything that happened last night was not just a dream. Speaking of dreams, I didn’t get my reoccurring dream of that forest in Transylvania. Lucky me.I found out that Claud had discovered TV. He was just watching random Channels. Just like actual wolves, he learns fast.“Good morning.”“Good morning too?”“Yeah that’s pretty much right”“Did you know that there are tiny people in this box?” Claud was really excited to share his discovery with me. They keep doing things inside that box to make us happy. How do you feed them?”“Again Claud,” I said “They are not in that box. They were filmed, and are not in that box. They were filmed, so now they are just playing the recording of that film.”“So I can’t feed
ReunitionIn a heartbeat, he dashed towards them. The alleyway, dimly lit by a single flickering streetlamp, seemed to narrow as Claud closed the distance with inhuman speed. The five men, dressed in dark clothing and clutching crude weapons, barely had time to react. Their faces twisted in surprise and fear as Claud-seemingly ordinary just moments before-unleashed a savage fury upon them. His first victim was a burly thug holding a metal pipe. With a swift, almost effortless motion, Claud disarmed him, the pipe clattering loudly on the cobblestones. A powerful punch followed, sending the thug sprawling to the ground, unconscious before he hit the pavement. Two more of the assailants tried to flank him, coming at him from both sides. Claud spun around, his movements a blur. He caught one by the wrist and twisted it with such force that the snap of breaking bone echoed in the night. The man howled in pain, dropping his knife. Before he could react further, Claud’s elbow met his face, k
New TruthsMy whole life flashed before my eyes. This can’t be how I’ll die. I haven’t even kissed a guy yet, I haven’t been to San Francisco, I haven’t sky dived yet. There’s a lot I haven’t done yet. Come on Claud, wake up. Protect me. Please? I’ll buy you all the ice cream you want if I survive. Just as she was about to stab me with her nails, Claud came from nowhere and speared her away from me. You know, the kind of spear wrestlers do when they want to dispatch their opponent quickly.“What’s wrong with you, Claud?” His mom asked. “Has all that time you spent dead make you forget that you don’t stand a chance against me?”“I know you’re stronger, faster and maybe even smell better than me currently.” Claud said. Weird choice of words but if it saves my life, who am I to complain. “But…?” Mrs. Tara asked obviously expecting his speech to end better than that “Nah, that’s it.”“You were never good at motivational speeches.” Mrs. Tara said. “But I would not want to send you back t
New Truths II *** Claud’s P. O.V. ***My mom finally had her way. I was going to do what she said and have sex with two hundred and five ladies. I know a typical guy should be excited because I had never even kissed a girl before but I was just bothered. Stacie had heard everything. I really hope she doesn’t get upset and stops talking to me.“Claud,” My mother’s voice jolted me back to reality and away from my thoughts. “I’ve already crafted a timetable. You must be here on this floor everyday by 3pm. You’ll meet a different. Girl that you’re going to impregnate. The first lady is in that room. I would’ve given u some time to swallow this information but time is not on our side. The kids will still have to grow up and start training so the sooner, the better. I’ll be going downstairs to attend to some company matters. Knock yourself out.” After saying that, my mom entered the elevator and went down. Of course she had to go down, she could not go up anymore because we
The hunt beginsI got to the forest and started using my hunting skills to tracks down Stacie. I was navigating the forest like a tiger – stealthy and extremely quiet. You could not even hear me breathe. I soon got to a clearing, in the midst of it stood an ancient looking stone altar with it’s surface covered with strange glowing runes. Stacie was tied; hands and feet with her eyes blindfolded directly beside the stone altar. Surprisingly there was no sign of any werewolf at the scene. Maybe I should have called my mom for help. I stood there in the shadows, calculating my next line of action. After some minutes of contemplation, I decided to take the risk and attempt rescuing her, I went in with speed and caution. I knelt in front of her and then untied her hands and removed her blindfold. Because of the fear she was Feeling before now and the relief after she felt after seeing me, she hugged me and kissed me briefly before she started sobbing and punching me.“What took you so long
The hunt begins II *** Omniscient P.O.V. ***After all that happened at Hoia Baciu, Claud just went back to his mom at verdant. He knew that he had no other home to return to anymore so he had no choice but to go back to her. “You’re back early,” Tara said. “What’s wrong? You look blue.”“Sta…Sta..” Claud sobbed a little bit before finally finding his words. “Stacie’s dead mom.”“Oh my God!” Tara exclaimed in disbelief as she rushed towards Claud to comfort him. “What happened? Was she sick? Was there an accident? You’re not talking Claud, What was it? Talk to me, I’m your mother.”“It was forest werewolves mom.” Claud started. “They kidnapped her to lure me out and even though I climbed on the altar to help them create better hybrids, they still killed her.” “You climbed on the altar?” Tara started. “Hope they didn’t succeed.”“They didn’t succeed in removing my powers but unfortunately for them, activated my other powers.” Claud said, his voice still breaking. “So I killed
The Hunt Begins III It was still late at night, the moon, a thin crescent casting a ghostly pallor over the silent city streets. Claud moved with effortless stealth, his steps silent as he navigated the labyrinth of rooftops and fire escapes. His senses heightened, attuned to every sound and scent that whispered through the urban landscape. The air carried the faintest hint of impending rain, mingling with the sharp tang of metal and concrete. Finding a vantage point high above the city, Claud settled onto the edge of a weathered rooftop. From this perch, he had a commanding view of the abandoned warehouse district below. His eyes scanned the scene meticulously, searching for any sign of movement or disturbance. In the distance, beyond the city’s edge, lay the outskirts where the forest stretched its dark fingers into the urban sprawl. Below, in the shadowy recesses of the warehouse district, Claud glimpsed movement-dark shapes darting between buildings with predatory grace. The
As Seraphiel and Orionis floated into the sky, Orionis glanced at Seraphiel with curiosity. “Why didn’t you take away Damien’s powers? That was the price for Matilda’s life, wasn’t it?”Seraphiel smiled, his gaze fixed on the stars above. “I saw something in him. There’s no one more deserving of the title of the chosen one than Damien.”Orionis chuckled softly, nodding in agreement. “I suppose you’re right.”“Just don’t tell Astrid yet. I hate it when she’s right. She’ll rub it in my face.”With that, the two celestial beings ascended higher, their forms disappearing into the night sky, leaving behind only the faint shimmer of their presence. The wind was harsh against Damien’s face as he walked back home. The air heavy with the scent of rain. The sky was an inky black, clouds hanging low, blotting out the moon and stars. A faint drizzle started to fall, tapping lightly on the ground, and he pulled his coat higher on his shoulder. His boots crunched against the gravel as he strolled
The end?The family of four walked slowly through the familiar streets of Riverdale, but this time, it all felt different. The trees seemed taller, the air crisper, as if the town itself had transformed while they were gone. Claud glanced at the cobblestone streets, feeling a sense of nostalgia pull at him. It was as if each house they passed, each flower blooming in a neighbor’s yard, held a memory waiting to be rediscovered. Lupa’s hand brushed against his, her eyes flicking around, taking it all in with a quiet smile. They hadn’t been gone for long, not even up to a week but somehow, coming back made it feel like an eternity had passed.Damien, walking just behind them, was unusually silent. Normally full of chatter, he now took in everything with wide eyes, as if seeing their hometown for the first time. Clary had fallen behind to inspect a cluster of daisies on the roadside, twirling one between her fingers before skipping back to the group. When they finally reached the fami
The Challenge of the ChosenDay 4As dawn broke on the fourth day, the sun’s rays pierced through the thick canopy, casting dappled patterns on the forest floor. The air was crisp, and the sounds of chirping birds filled the space around them. They packed up their campsite, the smell of charred wood still lingering in the air, a remnant of the stories shared around the campfire. After a quick breakfast of rations, they set off once more, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. Wulfric led the way, his expression serious as he felt the shift in energy around them.“Today will be different,” he warned, his voice low. “The trials will test the chosen one in ways we haven’t encountered yet. The challenge ahead will require not just strength but also wisdom and courage.”“How do you know so much about the chosen one and these trials?” Damien asked.“I’ve been studying these things for a long time because I’ve always craved having a place that we wouldn’t have to hide but be free to be ourselv
Journey to the unknown IIDay 3The morning fog hung thickly in the air, enveloping the forest in an eerie shroud. Unlike the gentle morning mist that usually lifted with the sun, this fog felt heavy and charged with ancient energy, as if the very trees were watching them. Each footstep Damien took sank slightly into the ground, a reminder of the trials ahead, testing their resolve as they ventured deeper into the woods. He glanced at his companions. Claud moved ahead, ever vigilant, his sharp gaze scanning their surroundings. Tara walked closely beside him, her posture alert and tense.“This feels different today,” Damien muttered under his breath.“It is,” Wulfric replied, glancing back. “We’re getting close.”As they continued, the path twisted and changed, narrowing in some places while expanding in others, as though the forest was shifting to confuse them. The trees seemed almost alive, their bark rippling subtly, pulsating with a rhythm that hinted at something deeper below.“Ke
Journey to the unknown.Day 1The pack moved in near silence as they walked through the dense forest, the only sounds being the crunch of leaves beneath their boots and the occasional rustle of branches in the wind. The forest was alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures, though none seemed to draw near. The air was cool, and the smell of damp earth and pine needles lingered as they pushed deeper into the woods.Damien led the way, Wulfric walking close beside him, while Claud, Tara, Lupa, and Clary flanked the rest of the pack. Wolves prowled in their animal forms, eyes glowing faintly in the shadows, while others remained human, their hands never far from their weapons. The further they walked, the more the forest seemed to change. The trees grew taller, their trunks wider and older, and strange glowing fungi dotted the bases of the trees, casting eerie light across the ground. The pack moved cautiously, alert but undeterred. After several hours of walking, the group suddenly c
ReunionsDamien moved through the dense forest, his footsteps muffled by the thick bed of leaves underfoot. The trees stood tall and imposing around him, their branches twisting like gnarled fingers above his head. Sunlight flickered through the canopy, casting scattered patches of light that danced across the forest floor. The air was cool and fresh, carrying the earthy scent of moss and pine. Every now and then, the sound of a rustling branch or distant bird call made his heart race, but he pushed the anxiety aside, determined to keep moving. The deeper he ventured, the more familiar the path became. He had been here before—just days ago. This was where he had encountered Wulfric, the mysterious figure who had saved his life and then disappeared into the woods. But Wulfric was more than just a savior. He was family. Damien’s grandfather, though that fact had only recently come to light. And now, after days of wrestling with the truth and the destiny Wulfric had spoken of, Damie
Hovering above him, Damien loomed closer, his eyes glowing brighter with every second, his chest heaving with the intensity of his anger. Stephan spat blood onto the ground, a faint smile curling on his lips despite the pain. “I guess… anger really does take a werewolf’s power to the next level,” he muttered, wiping more blood from his lip. His gaze sharpened as he stared at Damien’s cold, unyielding eyes. “But if you want a real fight… let’s make it more interesting.” With that, Stephan reached for the Eldershard crystal that hung from his neck. As his fingers curled around the amulet, the crystal pulsed with an ancient power. It began to glow, its silver light expanding outward, wrapping around Stephan like a cocoon. The energy crackled and surged through his body, and he let out a guttural growl as the crystal’s power fused with his very essence. The air around him began to shimmer, distorting with the raw energy being unleashed. Stephan’s injuries disappeared in an inst
Phase Three II Matilda soared through the sky, her heart pounding as she pushed herself to fly faster. The wind whipped through her hair, but her mind was focused on one thing: the Eldershard crystal. It was the key to everything—the only thing that could stop Stephan from carrying out his plan. Her father was fast, but she was determined to get there first. The hidden location was nestled deep within a mountain range, shielded by ancient magic. As Matilda approached, she spotted the faint glimmer of the crystal tucked away in the crevice of a towering rock. Without hesitation, she landed and reached for it. The moment her fingers brushed against the Eldershard, a surge of energy pulsed through her, warm and familiar. She held the crystal in her hands, feeling its immense power thrumming beneath the surface. It shimmered like a captured star, glowing with an otherworldly light. But before she could fully absorb its energy, a voice echoed from behind her. “Matilda.” S
After the meeting concluded, Orionis accompanied two celestial guards as they descended into the depths of the celestial prison. The shimmering hallways were lined with ethereal runes designed to keep even the most powerful beings contained. At the far end of the prison stood a door, shimmering with protective wards. The guards exchanged glances before opening it, revealing Stephan, the former arbiter, sitting in the dimly lit cell. His form was diminished, but his eyes still burned with an intensity that suggested his power had never truly faded. The guards unbound him, their expressions filled with distrust. As they stepped back, Orionis remained, his gaze locked on Stephan. The moment the guards were out of sight, Stephan stood and stretched, his joints cracking in the silence. He turned to Orionis with a smirk that sent a chill down the Stellar Guardian’s spine.“Phase two, complete,” Stephan said, his voice dripping with satisfaction.Orionis stiffened, his galaxies swirling in
