Enzo Corretti is a monster. He runs the most powerful crime family in the world. Being ruthless and unfeeling is in the job description but nowhere in the handbook did it ever say how to deal with someone like Dylan. She may look like a saint but underneath her pretty doe eyes there's a monster in waiting. Dylan Monroe is a Saint. That's what everyone always said about her. Growing up in violence and tragedy, she managed to live a normal life despite it. Well, that was until eight men showed up in her house with seven guns aimed at her head and the most vicious of them all, Enzo Coretti claiming she had something that belonged to him. Maybe she did. But Dylan knew if she gave it to him, it wouldn't end well for her.

Chapter: 000

Dylan "Watch where you're going, bitch!" A cabbie yells at me with a thick New York accent. I repaid his warm gesture with a more than enthusiastic gesture of my own. A stiff middle finger his way earned me several honks and a Starbucks cup thrown at my head. "Asshole!" I crossed the road with the phone still between my shoulder and my ear as I loosened the noose—Fine, tie— around my neck. I was exhausted, frustrated and I really needed to pee but thank god, I was nearing my apartment complex. "—and I need you to pick up your dress at the store. Dylan? Dylan... Dylan! Are you even listening to me?!" I flinched and quickly withdrew the phone from my ear,

I would give this book a 5star rating if it was finished. The story just ended without a conclusion. I spend a lot of money and time on these books. You should not bet down your readers like that.

Chapter: 001

Enzo TWO WEEKS AGO... I'm flipping through files on my desk when a soft knock sounded on the door. "Come in," I say gruffly, partly annoyed at the disturbance and partly from exhaustion. My assistant of one week, Mina steps into my office and I don't bother looking up... until she sets a tray on the coffee table and the words start blurring on the paper. Fuck. I've been running on nothing but coffee and alcohol and it was finally taking a toll on me. I lean back in my seat and let my eyes roam over her figure coolly. She was slender, her dark hair barely reaching past her shoulders. Her tight dress hugged her figure and as my eyes traveled I noted that she had a nice ass. She loo

Chapter: 002

Dylan PRESENT... I thought death was supposed to be cold. The same cold that follows darkness, creeping up your back like a spider you couldn't shake. Wrapping around your neck, forcing you to take your last slow gasp. I thought death didn't hurt but I know for a fact my wrists were stinging. I wiggled my wrists. I could move? Am I dead? My eyes fluttered open and slowly my surrounding came into focus. There were people in the room, somewhere. I could hear low chatter around me. As my heart rate settled a little, I could hear pieces of the conversation too. Someone was laughi

Chapter: 003

Dylan Emilia guides me through the maze of hallways and she never once bothers to look up from her phone. I stare at it longingly. Natalie is probably worried about me and Marianna... I was supposed to pick up my bridesmaid's dress from the store. Shit. She was going to kill me. Not if this family doesn't kill you first, my conscience says. Truer words have never been spoken. I've been missing for probably a day... can't be sure, the drugs they knocked me out with to get me here, had my mind still a little foggy. "Can I borrow your phone?" I asked. She looks up at me and after a while, shakes her head.

Chapter: 004

Dylan The air was crisp and smelt of wood and pine from the trees surrounding the mansion. All New Yorkian nature. Well, what little the Coretti's bought of it to boost their mansion's aesthetic. I tilted my face up into the early morning sun basking in the heat. I'd borrowed a pair of running shoes and some gear from Emilia, she wasn't too happy about that but who the fuck cares. I wasn't too happy with those assholes kidnapping me so she and her entire family could suck it. I bent down to tie my laces when suddenly the pounding of footfalls caught my attention and I glanced over my shoulder. It was Malachai, shirtless and glistening in running tracks and a pair of headphones on. Apparently, he hadn't seen me because the next second he w

Chapter: 005

Dylan I make my way up to my bedroom still in my running clothes. I drag my hand along the right wall so I wouldn't get lost as I count the doors. My room is the third door on my right... or is it the fourth? I get to the third door and grip the doorknob uncertainly. I turn and yank the door open. What I saw had my cheeks turning bright red and my eyes bugging out of my head. They were both butt-ass naked. Emilia had her legs wrapped around his bare hips. Her hair disheveled and the scent of sex hitting me hard at the door. "Dylan?" I slammed the door shut, spinning around and speed-walking to my room

Chapter: 006

Dylan Ugh! How could I want to shoot someone and fuck them at the same time? It doesn't make any sense. After my intense run-in with Enzo this morning I wonder into what could only be described as a man cave. Music blasted off of speakers I have yet to actually see. A gigantic tv hung from the wall playing Anime porno no one was watching and beer cans were littered all over the floor. It reminded me of a frat house, but instead of hyperactive jocks, there were trigger-happy gangsters in Armani suits. I leaned against the doorframe watching the boys around the pool table. Nino was pissing about his loss and Vince was casually drinking brandy as he watched them, brooding... like always.

Chapter: 007

Dylan The house is alive with people hustling about trying to get decorations up for the party tomorrow. I almost walk into some men carrying a chandelier. They didn't recognize me as one of the Correttis so I got a good word or two about how I should watch where I'm going. I just woke up so I don't have the energy to return the favor. Instead, I ignored them and just went on my way. In nothing but my pajama shorts and a thin silky robe I wandered into the kitchen. He was there, dressed impeccably in one of his many dark suits, leaning against the counter, a glass of coffee in one hand and the new paper in the other. He looks up when I enter. His dark , unreadable eyes rake over me shamelessly and my skin tingles at his attention. "Good morning," I murmured

DylanI squeeze into the black number as my nerves for tonight threaten to make itself known in the form of my retching in the nearest washroom. The dress I chose hugged my curves, not leaving much to the imagination. It was sexy and I felt confident wearing it. It made me feel as though I could take on anything. My hair was delicately styled by one of Emilia's beauticians, the same asshole who gave me bangs. My hair came to a loose knot at the base of my neck, and he allowed a few tendrils loose framing my bangs. He also did my makeup, not too glamourous like I requested. He used natural colors and painted my lips a pretty nude to compliment my dress. All in all, I hardly looked like myself.I looked over at

Chapter: 009

Dylan "What the hell was that!" Enzo roared slamming my bedroom door behind him. He'd followed me in here after the guests had trickled out at the end of dinner. His glared at followed me the entire time. I snuck out early to avoid the blowout I was sure was coming after my stunt with Nino at the table but of course, Enzo's fury has its own honing device. I gave him a bland look. "I don't understand what the big deal is. No one saw us." "It doesn't matter. You are my girlfriend, not his--" "Fake girlfriend," I reminded him. "We had a deal." "You don't have to remind me." His jaw ticked and he folded h
