The last thing Kevin expected to see when he woke up, was his wife dancing around the cave with her hairbrush, belting out 'Uptown funk', but that's exactly what happened. He had no idea what happened to the rest of the people who were there but they were gone now, and there were only three people left in the room, Celine, Kevin...and April, still sleeping in the huge bed that took up most of the floor space. Her skin was almost flawless, the last of the bruising to her face was fading and she looked so peaceful. "I don't understand..." Kevin muttered to himself, but with ears like a bat, Celine turned around, and when she spotted him awake, his pint-sized dynamo launched herself at him. If Kevin hadn't already been sitting down, he was positive that she would have clear knocked him off his feet.
"Easy on lass, should you really be bouncin' around with your belly still tender and such?" But Celine just laughed and hugged him tighter. "I feel amazing Kevin, Titan had some left
Nefele watched as the wolves circled the bottom of the mountains. She was ordered by Zeus not to interfere but no one said that she wasn't allowed to watch how this whole thing played out, so here she was, staring into the waters of fate."Make a little room sister." A quiet voice said from behind her, and moments later Selene sat down as well, looking on with a frown."Typhon is angry with you too you know," Selene murmured, biting into an apple as she waited for the fight to begin, and Nefele just shrugged, choosing to remain silent. Typhon was a solitary God, preferring to keep to himself in the lakes of Mount Olympus as he watched over all of his monsters. Dragons were under his protection and guidance, which meant that Adrastus was his creation and the prophecy concerning April had been written by Typhon himself. As such it was no wonder that Nefele wasn't in his good books right now."I understand why you saved April," Selene admitted, watching the water a
Celine entered the chamber like a hectic tornado, causing Kevin to jump and Todd to startle from his awkward nap on the floor. "What the hell is going on?" Neville cursed from April's bedside."The Gods are walking the earth and we don't have much time," Celine answered, flicking her wrist to remove Todd's shackles and turning to her husband. "Your time to think is over Kevin, either you accept me, and all of the other supernaturals you're surrounded by, yes that's right, these three are werewolves," Celine muttered impatiently, "Or you walk away and get off this mountain while you still can."Todd scrambled to his feet as Kevin stood overwhelmed and rushed over to April's side, "What can I do to help?" He asked as he looked protectively at his friend, and Celine smiled gratefully at the Beta wolf."We need to wake April up before it's too late."Neville called to Titan, and she materialized in front of him already holding a tincture she had prepared, "Th
"Where is my mate?" Chase asked, ignoring the slap to his human face as he scented the air around April, but Fleetfoots unique scent was gone. April ignored his question, shaking off her friends' support as she stepped right up to him."Why are you doing this? You rejected me Zade, yourejectedme. You shattered my heart and left me laying there broken in the rain. My friend would never have done that, mymatewould have accepted me, whatever you're doing here is wrong, pleasejust walk away and let me be happy." April finished in a whisper. Zade looked deeply into her eyes, and his gaze flickered from him to his wolf as they both struggled for control. Finally, the wolf conceded, allowing Zade to come through."I'm sorry April, I'm sorry for a lot of things, I'm sorry for listening to my father and bowing down to his will, I'm sorry for the pain that I caused you, and I'm sorry that it took me so l
"Sweet Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!" Kevin yelled as he grabbed Celine and dove out of April's way.Todd threw himself in the opposite direction, narrowly escaping the swipe of an angry tail as April shot forward, bellowing again in defiance as she faced off against the God of Monsters himself.Typhon answered in kind, transforming into his monstrous dragon, angered beyond reason that this insignificant female dared to break the rules of combat. The tension in the air was palpable as April refused to back down, choosing instead to bellow a second challenge as she stepped in front of Adrastus and Zade, shielding them both against Typhon's beast.Adrastus stopped pursuing Zade, as he looked on in wonder at the beauty of his Queen, and he was in such awe, it took him a moment to realize what April was doing."April, no!" He exclaimed as Typhon grew to twice his size, shaking loose his mountain of muscles as he prepared to attack, and April turned her head, cocki
Titan watched as the Queen slowly rose from the ground. Blood lent savagery to her features as she looked straight at the wolves who were slowly working themselves into a frenzy. "Leave this place!" She demanded in an ancient tone, punctuated by the snap in her eyes as her dragon warred within her. "Honor your Alpha, he died a warriors death today without fear in his heart and let no one speak any differently." Her power was undeniable as the soundwaves rippled with it, and then April turned to Todd who still lay on the ground, winded from tackling a 300lb man."Thank you." She said simply but, to Todd at least, it sounded an awful lot like goodbye."I know about your curse, and I promise to come back with you to cure it, but you must leave these lands today, leave the Desdayos dragons in peace, and never return."Todd stood up, and even his wolf agreed that the woman standing before them was very different from the childhood friend he remembered. It seemed fitt
'I don't want to open my eyes.' Celine tried so hard to stay asleep but, her body wouldn't cooperate and she badly needed to pee. "Kevin, can you pass me my robe honey?" She mumbled. It was the lack of response from her husband that made her slowly open one eye. For a second she was puzzled at her surroundings, and then it all came rushing back, and Celine shot up, reaching for Kevin, but her hand only encountered the cold sheets. And she knew. With tear-filled eyes, she glanced around, looking for anything that would tell her he had changed his mind, and Celine's heart skipped a beat when the flashing of his cell phone caught her attention. Stuck to the screen was a post-it note, with Kevin's telltale chicken scribble on it, and through her tears, she smiled at the typical Keviness of it."Press play." The chicken scribble read. And so she did. There was a moment when her clumsy man dropped his phone before he righted it, and Celine found herself looking
Kevin nodded at Lucien to show he understood what the top dog wanted before he signaled to the guards that he was ready. "Keep your wits about you Irish." The Alpha wolf cautioned, but Kevin didn't need telling twice. Fourteen months behind bars had a way of conditioning a man, and if Lucien hadn't taken him under his wing, he had no doubt that berserker blood or not, he would have been dead or somebody's 'wife' long before now.The last of the security doors opened, and Kevin stepped outside to feel the morning sun caressing his cheeks. Soon he would be on his way back to Desdayos, back to Celine and they could finally put this chapter of their lives behind them.He was just about to call a cab from the payphone when a sleek black limo pulled up to the curbside. The back passenger's window wound down just a touch, and the first song, Kevin heard as a free man began to play."Turn down the lightsTurn down the bedTurn down these voices, insi
I wasn't looking for her I swear. The Royal lands were just a short cut that my pack and I were passing through. But that smell was damn near the death of me and I had to follow it. Sweet pumpkin pie mixed with something unique to her was what my mate smelt like.At twenty-five I had assumed that the Moon Goddess decided to forgo a mate for me, so it hit me like a tonne of bricks, and I was completely unprepared. Deacon, my 2IC was left with his mouth hanging ope
The days blurred in the young dragon's mind. No one spoke to him for fear of Loki's wrath, and Adrastus kept his head down to avoid confrontation. Cindelle hurried away whenever they were in the same vicinity, and although he knew why it still broke Adrastus's young heart. This day was like any other. Adrastus trained hard. He studied, ate, and performed his duties. The only saving grace was the swim at the end of it. He wandered down the familiar path to where the waterfalls of Asgaard were, only this time when he reached his destination Adrastus was not alone.Staring into the crystal, clear waters was the Oracle-Cindele's grandmother."Come closer, child, I don't have much time," The old woman beckoned, and Adrastus obeyed. She had her feet in the water, and her milky eyes shone with a strange light, yet when she grasped onto his hand Adrastus wasn't afraid, "I have had a vision, and you need to see it, close your eyes and open your heart and mind." Again Adrastus d
Sometimes living amongst the clouds made it difficult to know when one year ended and another began. And so it was for Adrastus. His form had filled out to a mass of rippling sinew and muscle. Adrastus's voice was deep, seductive, and pulled at the heartstrings of even the most cynical young maiden in Asgard. And therein lay the problem for Loki. His charge was nearing the mating age for dragons, and although they never spoke about it, Adrastus was aware that he was the only
The storm boy.Alexander Storm looked down on his newborn son, marveling at the miracle of birth while his mate Ruby took a well-deserved shower. Marcus was a small boy by dragon standards, but Alex didn’t mind. Being from a minor hoard meant Marcus could never ascend to the royal throne. Alex and Ruby didn’t even have titles, so size wasn’t an indication of power within their community anyway. To outside appearances, they were just another wealthy family living in a gated community by the sea. His only son would be doted on b
"My birthday?"Down Adrastus plummeted, a vision of jagged rocks tormenting his mind as he struggled to comprehend why his cousins would do this. Why did they want him dead? It was a keen sense of betrayal that curled its way through his body as his closest friends watched from above, and liquid fire ran so hotly through his veins it itched. Suddenly his skin felt too tight on his body, and Adrastus wondered if everyone's last moments were like these.

"Frederico, the kingdom has fallen. We haven't much time!" Lady Lisbeth Delgaard rushed to where the babies lay, sleeping in their crib. Knowing she wasted precious moments-nevertheless, the Dragonlady gazed upon her children. The twins looked so different, yet she loved them equally as fierce. Ragnar took after her with his fiery temper and the telltale bulk that spoke of his dragon heritage. Whereas Gio was smaller, with dark eyes that changed color according to his mood, and there was no doubt that he held his father's wolf genes. Mixed species couples were killed on sight in Desdayos, and as the war reached the inner sanctum, a difficult decision needed to be made. The sound of the door being rammed downstairs caused Lisbeth to grab Ragnar and Gio, holding onto them protectively as Frederico burst into the nursery, "The guards are here, my love. There is no more time." Lisbeth handed Gio over with a gentle kiss, and her eyes filled with tears as she looked at the ma

Dedicated to my eldest daughter Hayley, turning 13 today and never doubting my ability to write these books, Happy birthday sweetheart xxLong ago when this world was young, ancient beings roamed freely, living off the land and their skills, survival a natural way of life, as deeply engrained as the desire to breathe.Within this world two young lovers gave birth to a special little girl, whom they called Vilinelle; and she was a symbol of the best parts of every living thing wrapped up in one tiny form.As Vilinelle grew
Moltenlava warmed the skin of the old ones, bathing in the furnaces. Scales alight with flames as the legends made flesh revelled in their mighty forms.Dragonlords ruled the salty earth, making other species bow to their wills, as it should be, as it will be forever. And the dragons were happy. But high above in the heavens of Asgard, a trickster watched the great beasts frolic in the volcanoes they called home and plotted a grand misdeed.
